2013 Fairytale Designer Collection
With all the QC issues it is really making me nervous! I got really lucky, my Snow White/Prince and Rapunzel/Eugene were perfect! I'm worried about Jasmine/Aladdin now though, so many problems I can foresee with those dolls having QC issues. Especially with all of Jasmine's jewelry!

heres a link to my new flickr photo stream. my other account was recycled because it was inactive for too long -_- but there are some pics of my designer collection so far!!!! and up close pics of my beautiful Rapunzel and Flynn set and how I reposed them! they really are breathtaking in person!

Thank you Rose! I'd love to see more photos of your two dolls side by side, but only if you have time. :) I don't remember the first designer dolls having so many problems and differences!

How they arrived in the mail. I didn't notice until I opened the box that Rapunzels hair was a bit messed up, there were strands coming out of the braid and her one eyelash needed to be cut since it was funky looking. Other than those minor flaws which were easily fixed, they are perfect! Box was a pain to get opened and the COA fell out and I didn't notice until it ripped while I was trying to put the lid back on.

I didn't debox them yet since I'm still debating whether or not I want to. I just repositioned Flynns head so you could see him.

The 2011 Designer Princesses were for the most part well-made and with less glaring defects than the DFDC dolls. The biggest problems I found with the 2011 Designer Princess dolls were with messy hair (especially Designer Snow White and Designer Jasmine), runs in the satin fabric from those white plastic T-tabs pulling on the fabric, and occasional missing glue-on gems (my Designer Belle has quite a few missing from her gloves and with my Designer Jasmine one of the glue-on gems from her earring had popped out but was still in the case so I just glued it back on). I remember seeing an eBay auction where Designer Aurora's bun had unraveled to make a ponytail (but that also could have been done by the seller as a sales ploy to make an "error" doll).

The idea of an unraveled bun as an error doll is a little silly. It's not that hard to pop the boxes off and on. Anyone could create that kind of error. :)

Thank you so much! :D yes disney did a horrible job posing them! I really love them like this. :) I finally was able to get the lantern upright while the lid was down, so I won't be taking them out for a while! I'll do a review on my blog eventually.

Oh and don't even get me started on that packaging!  it took me like 25 minutes to get everything off of them!

here are some more:

Which Rapunzel is that sitting there next to the couple? I love her!

I got the tracking number sunday night but the package wasn't picked up until Monday night. The doll was supposed to be here today but it wont show up until tomorrow. The tracking number is now working for me. It should arrive tomorrow morning/early afternoon if all goes well.
yeah, so today it showed that it was in my area, and out for delivery, so I really thought she'd come today but I didnt get her. So I'm guessing tomorrow now. At least it's updating.

Now I'm really nervous Ill get a defected one!

Hi, everyone.

I have briefly introduced myself on this thread/subforum before, but I'll do it again since I haven't said much else and don't think that many (if any) of you know me.

My name is Rachel and I live in Santa Barbara county with my boyfriend and his family. At first I was really turned off by most of the princes in this collection, and still am for the most part. My favorite Disney princesses are Belle and Jasmine, and after seeing some "real" pictures of Aladdin and Jasmine on eBay, the Aladdin doll is starting to grow on me, and Jasmine has been my favorite of the princess dolls in this collection from the beginning.

Last Friday, I got a job offer for a full-time position, and I took it! I'm so excited, because I've been working a part-time job since last October, which was about 6 months after I graduated from college. I've given my two weeks notice and start my new job in a week and a half.

While I won't have started or gotten my first paycheck yet, I think I am going to treat myself to a Jasmine and Aladdin set this coming week when they are released. The only store I really have access to unfortunately doesn't get any of the limited edition doll releases. As far as I know, the only merchandise they received for this collection were the mugs, which I did manage to get a few of. I am getting my wisdom teeth removed next Tuesday morning anyway, so it wouldn't matter even if I could get to another store. I am just hoping that if I do decide to order the pair online, Jasmine's hair isn't messed up (and of course nothing else is wrong). I feel that this could definitely be a potential problem with Jasmine in particular because of how her hair is styled.

The Rapunzel doll in the picture is a Tonner doll, she was also a LE and she sold out a long time ago.

I finally got up the nerve to debox my Rapunzel and Eugene! I'm soooo happy with the results!!!!!!!!! 10 times better! I may have been converted to becoming a deboxer......

Powerline's Number 1 Fan: It is always possible to get one that has messy hair but usually, to what I have found, it can be easily fixed. I think the real worry with Jasmine is going to be all her jewelry and if it is intact.....with all the QC problems, I really don't want to buy these dolls online. I'm hoping to get them in-store so I can check for these issues. Plus my store is really got at checking the dolls completely over before they start handing them out. If there are major defects they will not sell the doll. I just feel bad for everyone who does have to resort to online! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for everyone who orders online, that everyone gets a perfect doll! :x:

Welcome back, and congrats on the new job! You definitely need to treat yourself and get Jasmine and Aladdin.

I dont think I could debox these! I havent even opened up the DS ones that are only $10 each. Ha! I thought that was the Tonner doll. Everytime i see her I FALL IN LOVE!! I wonder how expensive she would be to find on ebay. Sigh.

She's my tonner "Tangled" Rapunzel doll from last years holiday collection! :D she's my favorite! She's le1000.

Are thtese dolls really worth it? Would they be something that will rise in value? I was able to get a set of Designer pins, but not the couples. just curious if they will stay high in price.

M

I think the dolls will probably come down in price. Ariel/Eric and Belle/Beast might always be at least 200 but I do think the rest of the dolls will remain in the 150-200 range. I can't really see Snow/Prince, Aladdin/Jasmine, and Rapunzel/Flynn being able to fetch over $200 after the hype dies down.

Ugh! UPS rant coming...

Sometimes UPS delivery people suck! I have been home all night waiting for DFDC Rapunzel & Flynn to arrive via UPS with a scheduled delivery for today, all the while checking the UPS website for status updates. Then at around 8:20 pm the status says that they attempted a 1st delivery but no one was available. Pardon me, but that is total crap. I live in an apartment with an external entrance. The door was open (with the glass storm door closed, of course) and the lights were on in the house. If someone came to my door, I would have seen and heard them. Also there was no UPS Infonotice left at my door. Can you say lazy? This package was on that truck since 5 in the morning, if that person could not finish their deliveries, they should not lie and say that they attempted a delivery when they did not. So of course I had to call UPS customer service and not only report this person's actions but I requested that they hold the parcel at the local UPS facility for me to pick it up tomorrow.

To make matters worse, this is not the first time that something like this has happened exactly in the same way: a supposed delivery attempt with no UPS Infonotice left behind, which shows me that the person just did not bother. Keep in mind that in my area there are no natural disasters, major accidents, severe weather conditions or anything else that would reasonably cause a delay. Yuck!
