Goofy looks like he is scared as heck but yet he is still riding the carrousel horse. When I look at this pin it reminds me that even though you might be scared of doing something you should not let that fear stop or overcome you and that you should still give it a try. To me life would not be really worth living and enjoying without trying or overcoming what you are afraid of. When I am feeling down this pin has helped me from not giving up on hope or myself :) I really appreciate Goofy Moe for sending it to me as a prize in his game.

Congrats on finding out that you are cancer-free!! Good health is something seldom thought about by those who have it and rarely forgotten by those who do not. Thinking on the thought behind this auction, I would bid this pin:

However, it is the thought I wish to share, not the pin and that thought is that the one thing we really need to remember how to do, no matter how bleak things may seem, is the ability to LOL (laugh out loud)!! Laughter is what makes us special and it has healing magic of its own. Never forget how to laugh and don't be afraid to let it out! Enjoy life while you can, and always remember to LOL!
 
Now we are getting the idea. :) I LOVE the new bids and thoughts behind them. I will put up some kind of list when I get home about the bids. Just remember it doesnt have to be Goofy. Any character can represent what I am looking for.

I do not have a huge collection but there is 1 pin that I hold close to me.

It is this pin.

Pin 45837: Booster Collection - Mickey Mouse & Friends (4 Pin Set) Mickey & Stitch Pin

I was out of pin trading for some time ( sold every single last pin) and was pretty bummed out about it. 2 years ago we had about 1 month before our annual trip to Disney. My wife and I had been struggling with many issues ( money being 1 of them) and I knew that pin trading would not be possible on this trip either. So I go and grab the mail when I notice a Ebay package. It was addressed to my wife. She rarely orders on Ebay and I notice a disney sticker on the other side.

I walk back inside and give her the package. She starts to tear up as she tells me that she hated that I sold my collection but it had to be done for us. She wanted me to start collecting again. She had no idea about pins at all. She went onto ebay and found this guy. I love Mickey and I love stitch so she bought it. She knew how much pin trading meant to me ( this is before finding this awesome community).

I teared up because the times were very hard for us before this. The pin symbolizes the love my wife has for me and a turning point in our lives. We are now not struggling and have started fundraising to adopt a child! 2 years ago I would have never thought I would be back into pin trading and living a overall happy life ( because of other things too not just pin trading )

Everything was going wrong up until that moment. That trip to disney was the best we have ever had. Just the two of us lost in the magic that is the Disney Parks.

It was much more meaningful than just trading pins.

So this pin will always hold a spot in my collection and I can look back and remember that moment.

** We had money issues but Disney was our way out. We always went IF we could afford it. This year we will not be able to afford a trip to Disneyworld but we are planning a big trip in 2014 ( lots of overtime and long hours are worth it)!!

I'm bidding this pin because of the movie scene it represents. Quasimodo was afraid for his whole life, but decided that he would risk the anger of Frollo and the ridicule of the people to go down to the Festival of Fools and enjoy himself, because having fun would be worth it. I believe that enjoying yourself is one of the most important things in life. You should have fun, and enjoy the time you have, no matter what other people think. Live life to the fullest.
 
Guys and Gals I can't tell you how much your bids, stories and kind words mean to me. I didn't realize this when I started this, but choosing a winning pin is going to be difficult. Actually even more difficult than a regular auction. Every pin that is being bid and the explaination behind it has touched me in some way. Having said that I will do me best to come up with some kind of leader board. In the end I DO NOT want any kind of bidding war in this auction as that defeats the purpose. You can add to Ur bid, but only if it is from the heart, not because you want to win.
Just to CELEBRATE a little more.....EVERYONE who puts in a bid of any kind will have their name put in a hat at the end of the auction. I will then draw a name out of the hat and send that person an exclusive Tokyo Disney Land pin as a not so surprise Zap.

First I want to say that I am so very very happy to hear your news of being cancer free. That is amazing and I am very very happy for you and your family.

It is even nicer for me to hear this right now because my cousin, who is 2 months younger than me, just got the opposite news. 6-ish years ago when we were about 27, she was diagnosised with stage 3 breast cancer. 2 years later = full remission. About a year ago we learned the cancer came back and had spread to her lungs. Last week we are told, "it is progressing." We are only 32... Now she is looking into the after chemo more extreme measures... :( She lost her dad to cancer in his 30s and we lost our mutual grandmother to cancer as well so it is pretty scary. I literally pray for her every day.

Congratulations on the good news!!! I work in life sciences, so I'm constantly hearing about cancer studies and research - some of it is really overwhelming, because cancer is such a stubborn disease - but every little step made towards understanding it really takes my breath away. I know, I'm a huge nerd! But it's really miraculous how much scientists know right now, as compared to even a few decades ago.
