So I decided to start a collection to honor my grandma. My grandma passed away in 2011. My families nickname for my grandma was "Cruella de Vil." I'm not sure if she ever knew this was her nickname but we called her that because she had a white streak going through her hair (and she reminded us of Cruella de Vil). I have the same streak but its blond still. You cannot really see it since I dye my hair on a regular basis. I decided to start collecting Cruella de Vil pins to honor my grandma. I'm sure I am the only one who honors a family member by collecting a Disney villain but does anyone else collect pins to honor a family member, friend, or someone important in your life? If so, what do you collect and why?

I collect a few Snow White pins for my gramdmother and mum, as they ADORE her, and the three of us always used to sit and watch it when I was young :) My mum absolutely loves all my Mulan pins, so in a way she shares my Mulan collection ;)

It's not a whole collection, but I kept my Steamboat Willie PODM in my collection in memory of my late uncle who passed away a few days after I bought it- waiting in line for it and chatting with the other pin traders was a nice memory before his passing. :)

I collect princess pins to honor my mother.she passed three years ago and it was super tougg for me.....she was a grown woman and really believed she was a princess...it was silly then but looking back she was a princess :)...i like pins that day the words princess..im tring to compleat the princess frame set that spells it out.... these type of pins just make me happy...i alsio really like mothers day pins for the same reasons

I'm still new to collecting, so I have't started my "In Memory Of" collection yet, but I plan to... My niece, (whom I grew up with as a sibling, as I am the MUCH youngest in my family) was killed a few years ago by a drunk driver. It absolutely wrecked me, and to this day I am still not able to handle it properly... Her favorite movie when she was little was the Little Mermaid. Now I don't plan on collecting ALL the Little Mermaid pins, but someday soon I would like to try and collect a few special ones. I love that you guys also have special collections to honor special people in your lives :)

Brought tears to my eyes... I collect little mermaid because it was the last movie I watched with my daughter before she passed not to many know of this but its nice to know its not just me that does this!

I collect Brave pins (particularly Merida and Elinor) for the bond between my mother and I. My mother is all I have in this world, and we love each other so much. Brave spoke to us like no other movie had before. I treasure the relationship we have and would never give it up for anything.

I collect Mulan and Fa Zhou pins in memory of my father, who passed of a heart attack when I was only two years old. Whenever I watch that movie, I long for the relationship we could have had, but I know that he is looking down on me and feeling honored.

I collect orange kitties to remember my two baby cats who passed just a few years apart. They were my companions almost my entire life, and I want to honor their loyalty and love.

Reading some of these is really making me cry! Becky, if you ever need to talk about anything, please PM me!

This isn't a person, but I collect scamp pins after my puppy, scamp, who was killed by a rattlesnake in may. I only had him for 5 months, but he was my baby. </3

My Figaro collection is in memory of my first pet, a black and white domestic shorthair named Oreo. She was everything to me as a child. Like, seriously. I found the daily journal I kept for elementary school a few months ago, and it was kind of hysterical because every single entry mentioned my cat, no matter what the "theme of the day" was. I was absolutely obsessed. Like a crazy cat lady in miniature.

One day, close to Halloween, the instructions were "Write a scary story!" and I wrote something like "One day I walked into my house and I heard a very scary noise. It was like a monster growling. I looked everywhere. I was so scared. I wanted to hide. Then I saw my cat Oreo under the bed and I knew. The scary monster was just her! She was snoring. The End."

My collection is not to honor anyone but I'm collecting pins that represent my hertiage for my twin nieces. I want them to learn about where their family names comes from.

My partner told me to go get a hobby (be probably regrets that now lol) and I found Disney Pins, at first I found Stitch pins and I went down that road and after a while I decided to be more selective in what wanted so I thought to myself, I like stitch my partner lives in Ireland (so do I for 3 years now) and I looked for st patrick day stith pins and I saw they were not that many and I was able to combine my favourite character with my partner being Irish. so its a perfect little collection that only comes round once a year with 1 or 2 pins so its perfect!

My grandfather passed away few month ago. It was really hard for my mother, so I tried to be strong for her. I didn't cry and I didn't really made the necessary mourning.
When I came back to my place, BF was cute enough to put a Disney on tv. Bad choice ^^ It was the The Lion King ! I literally melted in tears when Mufasa died.
The Lion King is now a little more special. And I would like to have a collection of it :)

I collect trains because they remind me of growing up with my dad and his love of trains! I am blessed that he is still with us today but I enjoy the trains because they make me think of him and all the great times we had as kids going to train museums, riding trains, watching train videos, playing train games, etc. My dad is retired and now is very into garden railroads so he is still playing with his trains. My brother inherited the train nut gene and does his own garden railroad stuff as well as building his own working locomotives for the garden railroads from blocks of wood. They are amazing! He is bringing his son up in the family tradition as well.

No your definitely not alone...

I too collect pins in honor of my daughter Amber who we have lost...

Amber loved 2 things in this world more than anything else... One was her love for reading, the second was her passion to be an animal behavioral scientist and study wolves in the wild...

So for me I collect Belle pins which remind me of her... Especially her reading and also her in a blue dress (the blue dress makes me think of the time in her life when it was just her and Maurice...)...but i collect some others as well... Belle is a beautiful character and so was my Amber... Definitely a character... Lol

Of course my holiest grail is the Belle attacked by wolves which I now own... Thank you Amy(wyllieam)... But if you have the jumbo fountain pin of her reading to sheep please let me know...

 So sorry to read this, very hard for a parent's heart.

I collect Sleeping Beauty because my mom used to read the book to me before my afternoon naps when I was a little girl.

I lost my mom in 1997 to lung cancer.

I collect Pluto because of this guy. His name is Maverick. I've had him since he was five weeks old. He moved from Florida to Colorado with me and now to North Carolina with me and my husband whom I met in Colorado so I've had Maverick longer than I've known my husband. We also have four other dogs (one my husband had before me and three we have adopted together), but at almost three years old, Maverick is my VERY spoiled baby.
