Send them an email to cancel the order, they will do it. I did mine a week or so ago and got an email acknowledging the order had been cancelled. Since you're on the West Coast, your order will ship late (at least mine did and I'm in CA). For the last pre-order I did online (which was for the DFDC #1 set), they didn't bill/ship until the day the last doll was released
 
Does anyone know what happens to those dolls that were cancelled from the pre-order? Are they just reserved for in case something goes wrong with other orders?
 
Thank you for your help Starry_solo. I cancelled my order. It would be nice to think my cancellation gave another collector a shot at buying teal Jasmine. Sort of passing on the good karma from a bad situation.
 
I was just thinking today about how excited I am that Moana is coming out next year, and it got me thinking about the merch. Imagine how great the 17" Moana doll is going to look! I think her more simple design and island roots are gonna let her stand out among the other LE dolls. (dunno if this design is 100% final, but its the one they are going with for now).

She looks alright, I prefer dolls with poofy dresses though. I'm sure the movie will be good, I'm just waiting for another le Snow White and bell!

The hair alone has my beyond excited for a possible doll.
 
They will need a new body sculpt for her dolls, because of those tree trunk legs.Excited for a new princess movie but doubt I would buy a doll of her, if all her outfits are so plain- like pochontas's.

I bet they'll just change her leg mold for her. I'm not really interested in buying the doll if and when it comes out.

I don't understand why they did that with her and with Nani (Lilo's sister). Is it a well-known trait of Pacific islander heritage that they usuallly have proportionately very thick ankles? Since Disney Princesses aren't meant to be realistic in general (miniature waists, dinnerplate eyes), I'd be surprised that they would do that, unless their Pacific islander heroines wouldn't look at all like their heritage without it. However, never in my life did I notice that about anyone I know with Pac Isl heritage (not that I usually examine people's ankles).
 
Basically cartoons are caricatures, so it shouldn't matter if characters are exaggerated. On another note, I can't wait for the frozen fever dolls! Still don't know which one I want though, I'm still debating if I should get Elsa.

I think I read somewhere that they were trying to go as very realistic as they could with this one, especially in regards to the cultural aspects of the region. Moana's design could be a reflection of that.

As far as the possibility of a 17" doll for Moana, I'm with Matthewlondon on this one. I probably won't be interested in getting her, despite the fact that I am looking forward to the film.
 

The film looks nice, but it doesn't really appeal to me. To be honest, Moana's design looks like something from dreamworks. I know others won't agree with me, but that's my personal opinion. But her artwork could change though.

Pacific Islander people are often strong and muscular looking. Not as a rule of course since people are always different, but it's realistic to the culture. They're trying to be true to what Hawai'ian people look like generally with Nani, Lilo and now Moana. I appreciate it.
 
I wouldn't be likely get a 17" Moana at this point. It seems the movie may be enjoyable, but perhaps not a classic. They upped production of the movie based on the success of Frozen, but I'm not yet seeing anything of Moana that comes close to comparing to Frozen, or actually any of the more successful movies. The movie needs to be visually stimulating, have great music, lovable characters that stand out, and an epic story to be compared to Frozen or the other more successful movies. So far, visually it just looks like another random kid's movie to me. I'm not seeing anything that puts on level with Frozen, or any of the other favorite classics. I hope I'm wrong. I thought Brave looked incredible based on promos, and I was wrong. I had no expectations of Frozen, and boy was I wrong. I hope Moana does well and is a good movie, but it almost seems as though it's set up for failure being the first princess type film since Frozen and having production rushed.

Isn't it a little too early to be making assumptions like that? I mean, all we have to go on so far is some concept art, some music, and some very small story bits (it taking place in Polynesian culture, featuring gods and demi gods, exploration, and so on). Don't get me wrong, I understand not being excited for it, but it just seems a bit early to be deciding things like if it will be a classic. Then again, its a little too early to be making assumptions about how the doll will look, so I guess I can't say much lol.

She is confirmed to be the next princess in the princess line. I'm not exactly sure if she is a princess in the actual film (I don't believe she is but I could be wrong), but she has been confirmed to be a part of the princess lineup.

I'm surprised that Moana is going to be a princess, while Elsa and Anna aren't. I guess Disney wants frozen to be its own franchise.

I'm super excited for the movie, but I'm reserving my judgement and speculation about a doll. But... I'm sure she'll be gorgeous like all of the dolls they make, if they make one of her.

So far I haven't heard anything about them joining the Disney princess franchise. It has been about 2 years since the film came out, so you'd think by now they would be in the line up.

It can take quite a while for Disney to make a character an official "Disney Princess." I think with Frozen they're just milking for as long as they can. I think eventually they'll make it over to official status when the popularity goes down more, for merchandising purposes. Not sure, but we'll see. Either way, they are Disney and they are princesses (although Elsa is technically a queen for most the movie, they obviously don't actually have to be a princess to be a Disney Princess).

Moana may never make it to official status, way too soon to know, but she's being credited now as being the next Disney princess. Also, her look can still change a bit from that drawing, especially for merchandising. They did that with Merida when they moved her over to princess status and then went back more to the original look. They may not make the same mistake of making Moana sexier than the film version, but they could change the look of her to be more like the others for merchandising. They can still adjust a lot of the look of Moana for the movie if they don't get good feedback as they really haven't released all that much in the way of official pictures. As it stands, based on that one drawing, I'd likely pass on the doll (the outfit is big factor for me in deciding to purchase a doll), but I hope I'm wrong and she ends up being wonderful.
