DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion
Onlinewise tsums go up on Monday night/Tuesday morning and the Frozen dolls go up Tuesday night right?

I meant to post about my mall adventure last night when I returned, but I was very tired!

This being my second LE release, I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of a crowd. My first release was Sleeping Beauty, and for that I showed up about 45ish minutes before the store opened and was 11th in line. Still managed to get the last Maleficent, which is all I wanted, so I was very pleased. However, I was not going to take the same chance this year. I showed up at 8:30 (the store opens at 10) to...absolutely no one. Another collector (who does youtube reviews) showed up a bit after. The store workers showed up at 9:00, and the manager told us she'd start disbursing the vouchers at 9:30. A couple more people showed up by the time she came out with the vouchers. A man waited in line who didn't even seem to know that dolls were being released  They gave out all of the Jafars (they had 6) and still had at least one Aladdin by the afternoon. Got Jafar, and he is a delightful addition to my villain collection!

With how ludicrously easy that went (as opposed to the much more attended Sleeping Beauty), I was curious how the raffle would go later. This was my first raffle, as I managed to snag Snow White and the Witch the day after its respective raffle because they had two left over. There seemed to be a fair amount of people waiting around for the raffle (several that, I noted, didn't appear to be 18). Luckily they had enough for everyone (apparently JUST enough for everyone) so that went smoothly as well!

I'm not really worried about the Tsum Tsum release. I don't really collect Tsum tsums, but I have a few. When I went with my sister for inside out toys, they still had the inside out Tsum tsums and it was around 5. And they still had all of the characters, so I'm not very concerned about a huge crowd for the doll release. The one thing I hate though Is the opening ceremony, it's too time consuming; in the morning I'm not a very happy person, and on that day my nerves will be frazzled and stressed, and the last thing I need is more stalling so I can get my doll Lol!

Ok, gosh, this may sound dumb, but tell me about the opening ceremony...it it a Tsum Tsum thing?? I actually wouldn't mind getting the ones coming out on FF release day....but maybe its best to stay focused on one thing.

It's an opening that they do every morning to open the Disney store. When I was with my family to get the frozen classic dolls when there was a shortage, we had to go early on Saturday morning, then when the store opened, we had to wait since they had to do some sort of song or something, but now I heard they have ceremony where they have somebody open this lock with an oversized key. In a way I'm hoping I'm not first in line so I won't have to participate in it.(I'm very self-conscious, and I don't like doing goofy things in public) but since my dad will be there, and if I'm first in line, then I have no choice lol!

I've already planned everything out, and I already came up with scenarios to ensure I get the Elsa doll! Let's assume that at the least they will have 7 Elsa dolls, I know it's going to be more, but I'd rather be safe than assume the maximum number of dolls which I have no clue about. I'll have to miss school,(don't judge lol!) but I still need to get up at 7 to get ready, so by 8 I'll be in the mall; I'll have to bring my iPad so I'm not bored to death, and if by some chance of cruel horrible fate, I'll either get a) Anna, or b) if I can't get either by some bizarre chance, then I'll sell my voice lol!

The Cast Members usually try to grab a willing child to help them out with the store opening, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Unless no little kids are there that day. Tuesday, my store lucked out in that one little girl happened to be there that day.

I did the opening yesterday as there were only adults present, and it wasn't that bad. I had to say a spell to get the lights to turn on. At least at my store, they gave me a LE (at least that's what she said) Sorcerer Mickey lanyard for doing so!

That sounds like fun! My nearest store is half an hour away, do-able with public transit. But I've already maxed out my absences. So no going to a stored on release day for me. No judging, I've missed a night class for a hockey game.

that's horrible! what'll you do? :(

I'm sad for you but at least you have one doll. When you think in Europe hundreds of people ordered the jasmine doll, paid them and recieve a cancellations mail hours later. Because the Disney store Europe is so lame!!

deboxe your doll, enjoy it . You have one , be happy.

I was wondering whether anybody on the forum has experience of buying dolls from either the Oxford Street or Harrods Disney Store? As there always seems to be so many problems buying them on the UK website I'm thinking of going to the store instead for the FF release as I desperately want Elsa! Do the London stores have many dolls and if so, how early would I need to queue? Also, which store would likely have more? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

i guess it 's oxford street that have more dolls . And if it's like in Paris champs elysées. You ll have to camp out and pass the night in front of the store. I think they are starting to queue around 10 pm from what I read. But I'm not sure.

Heck, I'd open the store if no one else wanted to and there were not kids around (I know it's mainly for the kids). Do they still give away those nice Disney key's? My daughter got to do it a few years ago when she was 8 and she just values that thing. I'll probably frame it for her :)

My local store had a hand full of Aladdin & Jafar dolls today and also quite a few Peter Pan sets.

Get there (Oxford Street) by 7am. Any later and you probably won't get what you want. I might even suggest a bit earlier in the case of the Frozen Fever stuff, because Elsa. When Coronation Elsa came out I arrived just a little late at 8:30 (person in front got the last set!), so that was a bummer. Aurora was ok. Got there for maybe just after 7, so may have been cutting it close. Obviously, since Frozen, you'll need to get there by 7. Pre-Frozen, you could occasionally just rock up to the store a day after and they still had stock. A regretful day that was for me (wedding Rapunzel *sigh*).

Carrying them home, especially in October weather is a real hassle. Pray it doesn't rain (it started to for Aurora).

I don't know. I think "Tinker Bell" does give the kids something, but I'm not sure what it is. And, yeah, part of the ceremony is Tinker Bell being called from the other side of the mall to help the Cast Members open the store. Not sure if every ceremony is the same, though I'd imagine they are in most areas.

oh my god! lucky you! you can arrive so late! i envy you. It's really a nightmare at the champs elysées.

Thank you for your advice Ryu! One final questions........do you think I will have a better chance of getting Elsa in-store than I will via the Disney Store website?

This is why I wish our releases were one day in store then the next day online. I'm torn whether to try my nearest store or just go for it online. Hearing these issues with dolls being cancelled and gone before they are live are not leaving me confident with trying online.

Ditto! I'm not sure if I can stomach the expensive peak train ticket to London and camping out before 7 at Oxford Street on a tsum tsum day to try for the girls, or try online again. Or ask my boyfriend to attempt a dollmagedon online buy again...

I plan on going only for the tsum tsums that day (though I am REALLY tempted to just use my next paycheck for Frozen Fever Elsa or Anna), so how early would I need to go if I decide to go to my local store? I figured different times would be suggested depending on what you exactly plan to get. I have never been to a tsum tsum release, but doll releases tend to go pretty well at my store.

I think if we just had one doll released it wouldn't be so bad online but trying to add 3 different dolls to the cart....ouch!

Is anyone on this forum from from the Massachusetts area? If so do you go to the Disney store in Saugus Mass in the square one mall. I had luck there with the last Frozen set(well my mom did as I had to work) also I know a store in The Burlington mall just opened its small so I wonder if they are getting the dolls. If you call will they tell you if they are receiving the Le frozen fever dolls

I helped open the store with the big key on tuesday and today! They gave me a miniature replica. I brought my damaged jasmine to the store and luckily they still had a few available, so I was able to exchange it. Really sucks for France and anybody who got cancellations in europe :/
