Great question, thanks for asking. This list serves several purposes. First it facilitates trading and zapping by providing user names across multiple platforms. Instead of being restricted to making trades within the trading platform (eg PinPics Trade Assist or Pin&Pop Trade Arcade), one can look up another member's wants and trades and try to negotiate a trade privately, even across platforms. The same holds true for zapping; if one wants to send a member a zap, one can check their potential zappees wants to see if one has any pins on it (it's above and beyond nice to send a pin on a wants list as a zap, but certainly not required; any zap is an act of kindness and always welcome).

Second, having this list can facilitate identifying members when participating in events like the Pin&Pop Trade Arcade or answering PinPics Trade Assists. Not everyone will identify themselves as DPF members, and since user names sometimes vary from platform to platform, it's helpful to have a place to verify whether one is dealing with a fellow DPF member.

Third, some people find it helpful to have a list of names and screen names, just so they know with whom they are interacting, especially in the group chat.
