Patch is soooo cute. I just purchased him, now i just have to wait for him to come in the mail :drool:
 
Hey DPF Friends!

Just thought I'd check in and say "Hello." The last wave of PTDs got me so exhausted that I have been trying my hardest not to get crazy this time around. I am loving the new characters and am keeping my fingers crossed for a Charlotte (for you) and and Oswald (for me).

On a completely unrelated note, for all you D23ers I'll be a convention this Friday and Saturday!
 
have to wonder how it's going at DSF so far today. are they selling these like hotcakes? or has it been kinda slow? it is the middle of the week, after all

haha like a live video camera that shows the current customers in the store? I would so subscribe to that. Especially if there was an outside camera that could show the weirdos of Hollywood and the overnight line.

Would you want to work in a place that has cameras sending out your every move to screens of hundreds of crazy pin collectors every working minute of the day? :ugh:

oh, totally! i'd prob start a blog to go along with the feed. "i added a new poster behind the counter today. who noticed?". "i'll be on break and doing the funky chicken tomorrow @ 2:30! be sure to tune in!"



EIT: and Big Brother (the reality show) has had enormous success with a similar feature. their live feed is 24/7 and people are always watching. this would just be during PTD hours ^^

I spoke to management there this past month discussing the 3 possible vendors that they are using in China to produce these PTD's and we are noticing that one specific vendor is making them larger then the other two. In short yes, the current ones are larger and thicker as well.

Wow...I have to say, isn't that kind of bad then since that 1 vendor is making the other 2 vendor's PTDs look really bad :lol: I mean, I can only imagine how many people are wishing Flynn, Mulan, Rolly, Vanellope, etc. would made at the bigger vendor so that they fit with their counterparts >_<

Yes. If I was a worker, I'd say out loud, by the camera, "I think we're almost out of Patches, go get the next set of Brown Haired Rapun-OOPS...did I say that out loud? Instead go get the Crickets." Then I'd proceed to make every pin trader think that brown-haired Rapunzel was coming when...she never was >:D

I actually would want a Megara PTD. She's one of the awesome Disney characters that I really like, but not enough to collect pins of, so I realized that I want to collect PTDs of any character I really like, but not enough to collect all the pins of.

GASP!! WAIT A MINUTE!!! YOU KNOW WHO THEY COULD MAKE A PTD OF THAT I WOULD GO NUTS OVER!!!

O____________________________o I'd want them nearly as much as I'd want a Charlotte PTD...it needs to happen DSF...PLEASE OH PLEASE (I have more faith in Charlotte though xP).
 
I really love the banter and idea's. but PLEASE take the wish lists to the PTD wist list thread.

This thread is for current PTD only. I don't want to have to wade through pages of "wish there was..." in order to find the newest one for updates.

There is a LINK in the OP for PTD wish list and another link for a discussion thread about PTD in general.

Not a whisper on the wind of a change. Patch was the new one yesterday and I don't think there were a ton of the Tiki's left, or that a bunch of people were going to get them. So, that means Patch will likely last a couple days. And with D23 this weekend it might last even longer. It all depends on how many people decide to go get ice cream.

i got PATCH one around 2:15 this afternoon (wednesday). It was very busy and there were a handful of people buying the PTD. Although I've never seen it advertised in the To-Go line. So how do tourist know about it?

It's actually on the menu. Normally you would sit down at DSF and they would hand you a menu. On the menu there is a section about the pin trader delight. It describes the sundae and states on the description you are treated to a free pin with purchase if said sundae. It doesn't tell you what character the pin is and most tourist don't care. That is originally how one acquired a ptd. That is how tourist find it. It doesn't need to be posted on signs cause quite frankly most tourist would understand what a ptd pin is anyways without the menu description. Only local pin traders actually care about postings and pics of the actual characters on the pin
