Alright, so a lot of people here frame their pins or put them in shdowboxes right? Right. So I'm wondering what happens when you frame your pins and then a new pin comes out and you have no where to put it? For example:
Say I framed my Oliver & Co pins because I have every pin from that movie, but wait! They just released a new Oliver and Co pin! What now? (example people, I dont have every o&c pin yet)

Does anyone else have this issue, or am I just overreacting about it??
 
I use Tulle for the backs of my frames and I leave them open ( I decorate the sides with all fun pretty things). The tulle allows me to move the pins frequently around and have no issues.
 
Yep, I have this same issue too. You're not alone.

I have 4 Lion King displays. Each one was originally going to have a different theme based on the different characters, but since some filled up faster than others, it was a pain to reorganize them. I kept taking pins out and putting them back in and I could see little holes on the board so I had to repaint them and it turned into a mess and finally I just said

and just decided to put pins wherever they fit!

So anyway, haha, I'd just get another board! You can never have too many pin boards :)
 
Haha I guess a lot of people rearrange them frequently..but yes I am worried about the little holes. They will annoy me. I guess I'll just have to plan out my frames ahead of time xD

I haven't framed mine yet but I have them on a board for now I'm super OCD about it so I'm waiting till I have a few more so I can theme frames and not ever have to touch them again except to dust and clean lol I have this idea of put certain pins with certain artworks that match them but in a pretty good sized shadow box but we'll see what I come up with!! Good luck with yours I'm sure you'll figure some thing out that works!! :)
 
Oh yeah, I've definitely run into that problem a couple of times. I collect an ongoing series (DSF marquees), and keep filling up frames. Finally decided that I'd just get one huge one to hold them all with room for more... Except it turns out after it was all done, there was only room for 8 more... :anxious:

Two of those 8 space have already been filled! So I'm either going to expand into a 2nd frame, or get an even BIGGER one... But that can only go on so long and then I might as well just use my wall. :)

My frame is a black-felt covered cork board, so I can move pins without leaving noticeable holes... But I think once I get this frame filled, it will be permanent and I'll just move on to frame #2... But is the 3rd time I've moved this entire collection from one (or more) frames to another.
 
LOL! Had this issue for years! I frame the majority of my collection, which means I either re-open the frame when I get something new or put it aside and begin to plan for a new frame. The latter usually wins, as I have no intention to stop collecting, so there will always be more pins of the sort that I like (which is everything anyway) and I just move on to another frame, unless it is a movie that has very few pins to start with, such as Song of the South, where you can wait a long time to find a new Br'er Rabbit, Fox or Bear pin, and thus would not have to reopen it very often. Stitch pins on the other hand, will fill many frames in a short period of time, lol. All in how you wish to display them too, as adding more eventually starts to cramp the frame. Do what you think is best and what you like; the only one you really have to please is yourself because you're the one who will be looking at them every day. :hsd:
 
For my shadowboxes that tend to change a lot, I use a black felt fabric background wrapped around foam core board. They are easy to move and the fabric covers where they were moved from. Hinged shadowboxes are worth the extra $$ for groupings that will continue to change.

Or, for big collections like Figment, I try to just separate them by date, so the "older" ones don't change much since I'm not acquiring many of the older Figment pins anymore.
