I was just wondering if my feedback level (or lack thereof) is hurting my possibility to get more people to bid on my auctions? Or is it just that I don't have very sought after pins?

The reason I ask is because I wanted to auction an LE100 Stained Glass Cogsworth, but I'm worried that I won't get great/many bids because of my feedback level....

Lemme know if you have any insight :)
 
I dont see your feed back as an issue,mine isnt much higher,
i wouldnot bid on that auction as i dont collect beauty and the beast
its better going to someone who does
there are a lot of auctions going on the moment and pins keep slipping to 2nd page
so unless you keep bumping them yours may get forgotton or missed
keep trying and enyoy yourself its supposed to be fun afterall xxxxxx

by the way off to disney paris next week will keep and eye out for cola pins usually a few arround xxx

I only had two or three feedback things when I auctioned some of the DSF Brave set, and I made out really well! I think people will bid based on the pin, not so much on the trader's/auctioneer's feedback.
 
With no negative feedback, any member here would be glad to make trades with you or bid on your items... If the items get to be a very high value, some may ask that a third party moderator or a very well known member be used as a third party for shipping packages to, but that is a rare case scenario... But if ever asked, don't be offended as it it safer for both parties when one or more of them are new to trading... Good luck on your auction if you have it...
 
I don t think your feedback works against you as you have no negative feedback , try an auction it can be fun!!!!
(as long as you don t take it on the chin if it does not go well)
I like doing the Auctions :) I d like to do a game to maybe in the future hehe
 
gotta say ditto to the statements above. While feedback is always important, you are a fairly active member. Your online daily. I sincerely doubt its your feedback that is preventing trades or bids. Post some stuff on the trade boards and see if you get some nibbles. I havent looked at your trade list recently, so this is just a thought, make sure the pins you have for trade will be fair trades for things on your want list. if you have open edition trades and high end limited edition wants... you are not going to see results.

With auctions, especially since there are so many running right now, it can be hit or miss. The pins you auction should be decent trade/want ratios and preferably a character that is popular. For instance most princesses auction well, Tinker bell and the muppets do not. Limited editions auction well, open editions generally do not. You also do not want to auction a pin that is currently being auctioned, or a pin that has characters that are being flooded onto the auction house at the time. The Auction house seems to go in cycles, one week there are 5 stitch pins, one week its 5 PODM, and another its ALL "grail!" pins. And one week it was all pins that I could not imagine ever owning. lol It takes time to get comfortable offering trades, and understanding the auction house rhythms.

I agree with the above statements. Feedback is only a small guide and does not say everything about a trader. What is equally important (at least in my option and experiences) is how much the member contributes to the community. Someone who actively posts (maybe only when they can but still posts outside of trading threads) shows to me that they are a part of the community and you can tell a lot about someone by the way they post.

so all in all, I wouldn't be concerned about low feedback :) you also have a large variety of wants which I think would help anyone interested in bidding. Hope this helps and all the best on your auction if you do choose to auction it off! :bigthumb:
 
Dont be so worried about feedback! Even if you only had one feedback reference I would trade with you! Everyone has to build up their feedback. I remember when I first started...Tiggermickey was my first trade here on DPF. Once I got past my first trade and learned the ropes it was easy!

Besides Savannah me and you just did a huge trade!!! I would vouch for you to anyone! Youre and awesome DPF member and pin trader!

p.s. Youre Snow White Jumbo is in the mail today :)
 
Thanks for the tips and encouragement, everyone. I guess as a newbie, living so far away from the parks (and having never actually been) it's tough to find the things that I'd really like.

The pin that I mentioned in the OP was a special trade I got from someone, but I'd really like a PODM for it... that's why I'm scared to auction it. I mean, there's only one person on PinPics Trading it (and that's me).

Lili, I'll look through your traders!

I think maybe I'll post it in the trade forum and see what comes out of it.
 
One thing that is hard for newer people to realize is that not every pin is created equal. When I first started auctioning off pins, I chose some that I thought would be great. They were pins that were hard to get older pins. I was very dissapointed in the number of bids. The best way to choose a pin is to look at what is doing well and getting a lot of bids. The character can be more important then if it is an le or not. Just about any Rapunzel pin does well, while Tink (unless it is really hard to get) doesn't. It can be a big learning curve and takes time.

I have never not bid on a pin just because the person doesn't have a lot of feedback. In fact a lot of times I will try and bid on new peoples auctions so they don't get frustrated and not want to participate.

It is supposed to be fun! I wish you good luck in getting exactly what you want for it!!! Although if you do put it up for auction I would probably bid on it. It is a great pin!!!
 
I bid on the pin, not on the feedback. I don't bid much cuz I'm waiting for the right bid at the right time. We all gotta start somewhere right? :)
