Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
blue2581: Don't worry about being the minority! I do like both Eric and Ursula (even tho I agree Eric's hair should have been sculpted because it is much harder to style the short rooted hair, look at Cpt. Calhoon!).

However, if you don't debox your dolls it will be hard to see the netting on Ursula so that might not be as much as an issue. But the main point of collecting if you don't like it, don't buy it and save your money for others you will want more!! That is what I decided to do myself.

I tried collecting all the 17" dolls (which I almost succeeded in doing I was only missing Belle and Snow White) and realized most of them would stay in my closet....so I sold many of my dolls so now I only have 4 17" dolls which is so much nicer because I can display them! (Granted I will be adding Ariel and hopefully Eric&Ursula which will make my number go up again....) Plus they are my favorite characters, Rapunzel (Blonde and Wedding), Merida, Merida and Elinor.

I always look at it as a positive thing. If you don't like the dolls and decide not to get them, that is great because it save you money and it gives someone else a chance to get the doll if they want it! Win win situation in my book!

I am still crazy excited for this Ursula doll...even after seeing how it is this weird underskirt netting. I think the netting would look less weird and out of place if the tentacles were made bigger, longer, twisty, and more a focal point for the lower half. But, I'm just grateful they made her and made her plus sized.

Haha I have the exact same 17" collection as you do! I agree, there were a lot of dolls I didn't buy because I didn't really like them, but even though I don't really like Ursula, I am still going to buy her, because I'm a diehard TLM fan, and I want to have a complete TLM collection (just need 2011 Designer Ariel). I decided to keep her in the box, as the only boxed item in my collection, because I really hate that weird body of hers, but she looks great in the box. I hope it's not gonna look very weird, I think it would actually be pretty cool, like she's glaring at Ariel and Eric from behind glass, super creeper!

I have a 2011 Ariel. :hs:
I wanted Ursula at first until I saw those pictures of her out of the box. I anyway love the Disney Princesses a whole lot more. I have 2011 designer Rapunzel, Ariel, Belle, and 2013 designer Snow/Prince, Rapunzel/Flynn, and "17 Cinderella, Wedding Rapunzel and Merida. I really do hope there's going to be a LE Aurora and Elsa. Aurora is one of my favorite Disney Princesses and I'd like to see what Disney comes up with with her dress. I'm even more excited to see an Elsa because I just think she's really gorgeous and as an LE doll she would be even more beautiful. Although I don't want them to have Elsa and Anna is the same box like they did wish Elinor and Merida. I'd be a bit disappointed but I'd buy them anyway.

Well I haven't been all that active on the boards yet so just wanted to say hi to all the fellow doll collectors out there!

I went to one of the local Disney stores yesterday and the CM I was speaking with told me that they just received their shipment of the 17" Ursula and Eric dolls. I asked her how many they got and she said she wasn't 100% sure, but thinks about 10 of each. I don't know if this is good or bad. For the 17" Ariel there were 18 dolls and I managed to pre-order her after work, so maybe these 2 won't be instant sell outs here, who knows. I'll be curious to see what happens

I wonder why they decided to give Ursula that tulle underskirt portion. I mean, I'm assuming it's to cover the stand, but then why not just have her sitting on the ground? She does kinda slink/crawl across the sea floor, so I'd see that as more in character. The tulle just makes me think squid ink (and, consequently, I hear Pearl from Finding Nemo: "Aww, you guys made me ink!")

Im not sure how I feel about the tulle, but im just going to think of it as ink.... I do wish they had made her tentacles larger.......... but still it is a very nice doll. and before and even after the great villains line shes still a very rare doll to be had in her real form. after the designer Ursula fiasco last year I was worried about ever seeing another "true to form" doll of her. shes quite fabulous so Im dying of anticipation! Im still wondering what its going to look like on oct 1st at my Disney store. snow white and Rapunzel both sold out. it took snow a little while and Rapunzel there was a line. I didn't want her but I was there that day.

I'm still thinking the disneystore is going to be crazy that day.....I do not look forward to it! I'll be glad when it is here and hopefully I will go home with an Eric and Ursula!

Hi, everybody new here! Nice pics! I don't think I'll be able to resist Ursula ^^ it seems to me her tentacles can be detached like the one showing in the back (hoping). Prince Eric uhm... I don't know he looks to me like a male Ariel version, oops!

Will both be available online Oct 1st as well as in stores? Thank you for the reply

Yes, both dolls will be available online and in some stores Oct 1st. If your store is in a smaller area then sometimes they don't get the dolls are at least many of them.

Gosh i'm nervous my store is only getting 4 of each, and she thinks it's going to be a raffle, which they never did a raffle before for LE dolls. I'm guessing you would only get one as well if you win one you can't get the other. I want both so hopefully online doesn't crash or do something crazy.

You and me both. My closest store won't be getting them sadly and the other nearest store will only have Eric. Online is my only option. If someone manages to get an extra Ursula and I can't get her, PLEASE help me out!

Ok, so I have a question. If I get a damaged 17" LE doll, is disney's response going to be:

Too bad, you can either keep it or return it?

I might choose to get a second Ursula and Eric to help people out here. But if I do, I'll post it here as soon as I make the order and its gonna be first come first serve...

Or I could start a bidding! Or sell it to ebay for like 400!!!!

It's pretty much if they are sold out then it's too bad so sad or return it. That happen to my snow white LE purse. They did give a 10 dollar i'm so sorry gift card.

10 dollars my sorry a$$...

I should get more. We're not talking about a regular item. We're talking about a collectors item. They should let me keep the doll and reimburse me for the damaged good.

I remember when they lost the designer Ariel doll I got my sister they're response was: too bad... Nothing we can do. While I clearly stated that the UK store still had some available.

Then a month later, when the doll arrived. I wanted to keep it and I felt bad, so I stupidly called Disney and told them that I got the doll. After a long 30 minute argument, they charged me. >_>

Disney needs better customer service.
Remember the error in the Little Mermaid Blu-Ray? Well. Disney finally acknowledged it by saying that its an error but they also said that it won't effect your enjoyment so we won't do
Anything about it.

I really don't understand how it works. I mean, maybe it just depends on the CM you talk to? I am so grateful to not have had a problem when it's come to my 17" LE villains. They are my main focus and the only ones I care to collect. (I LOVE ME MY VILLAINS!!)
But, when it came to the Designer Villains, I caved when they went on clearance. I got The Evil Queen from Amazon for a really nice price and then Cruella and Hearts at a nice discount. Then Maleficent popped back up on the website so I jumped, ordering her with Ursula and Gothel. Later that day, I was confused and worried that there was something wrong because I didn't get the conformation email. So, I live chatted with someone. He looked up my order, said it was a glitch, and apologized, saying that she shouldn't have popped back up or gone through. So, I said I understood and wanted to then cancel my order cause I didn't want the other two since it wouldn't be a full set. Long story short, he got me a 25$ apology gift card AND I still was able to purchase my Designer Maleficent. He was beyond made of Pixie Dust, never gave me that robotic "scripted speak", and honestly made my day. I sincerely was touched.
So...moral of the story...I don't know how all these things work. If a sold out/glitch doll can materialize, I don't quite understand how there can be so many issues with these even more limited dolls. I mean...bad UPS people are one thing that Disney can't and shouldn't be held accountable for...but factory made imperfections are an entirely different story. I read of a Lady Tremaine that didn't even have that main green stone on her neck. And then the dolls that have their huge eyelashes glued to their cheeks or just hangin there. THOSE are things that Disney should stop doing. Like I said, I've been super insanely lucky and happy with my dolls. It's just all these horror stories that have me fearing that it's only a matter of time till I have my turn. 0.o
Oh Ursula doll...I may have to add you to my prayers.

The customer service must depend on the CM you speak with (and how you approach it). UPS tracking said they delivered my final 3 Designer Villains last year (and they are usually correct with those emails), but they were nowhere on my small apartment complex. I had even seen the truck pull up and drive away. I called Disney and they said they would send a replacement, free of charge and if the old ones arrived I could keep them too. I also called UPS and they "magically" appeared about an hour later, so I canceled. But Disney has always been good to me.

I have a question - not sure if this has been asked yet- but there will not be any additional Ariels on Oct. 1 right? They do not reserve any stock for release day if the pre-order sells out?

I know I read this on here somewhere, but just wanted to make sure - Ursula and Eric will be available on midnight before the release of Belle & Beast, so if I don't get one online, I'll be able to run and wait in line at my store? Thanks

From what I've seen so far, LE Ariel here in North America has been sold out. They only saved the rest of LE Ariel for UK & other European countries to own when it's Oct. 1? Correct me if I'm wrong lol >,<

There MAY be some Ariels left if people don't pick up their pre-orders in store, or cancel their online orders. (Please note that the store can hold a non-picked up doll for a year before it can be claimed by another person). Returns could hypothetically also be a possibility! But I would not count on any Ariels popping up. If they do, it may even be a fluke, glitch, or whatever else they like to call it.

I wouldn't worry too much about not getting Ursula or Eric. I know that Ursula is more popular than Lady Tremaine, but there are 500 more of her. I think she will last for at least two hours. And Eric, not too many people seem to be interested in, so I am not too concerned about him either.

That is correct. To save you time, call your store either Sunday or Monday before Oct 1stto confirm that they will have the dolls. Try your luck online, check your status to make sure that your order is not closed(this happens with several items that reappear online) If all's good, the item is yours. If not, drive to your nearest DS and hope for the best!

You should even be able to call your Disney store now and some will have an answer... I know i'm trying online first but if I fail I will head to my Disney store...

ElysionsPrincess is correct that Lady Tremaine only had 1500 LE and she lasted a good 6 hours... Though she wasn't as advertised as Ursula and Eric. I'm thinking we have a good chance of getting her online if we stay up. Plus alot of people are having to choose between these LE dolls and the Fairytale collection too so the possbility of getting it shouldn't be too bad... that's what I keep telling myself then I start to psych myself out and have mad anxiety! 1 week and 1/2 left to go!
