Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
I called my store to see if they still had pre orders available and she said yes. So then I asked if they had displays of them and she tells me that they have Anna but that They didn't receive Elsa. Apparently she's stranded on the east due to the polar vortex storm lol oh the irony !

Wow. I can't believe they sold out that quickly, but maybe I shouldn't be. The quality of these dolls is very nice! I'm biting my nails about how this is all going to play out when Sleeping Beauty 17" dolls are released.

does anyone know if elsa was ever on display??
everywhere seems to have anna on display but not elsa
do you think there worried someone will steal her???

Hmm I wonder if they really did get stuck in the storm or maybe they didn't arrive on time from China or something? Not sure. I believe it would be cause of theft. They put all the other dolls out before, without worry. I believe the warehouse is in Memphis though.

So I'm waiting outside my store and I'm the only one here. This is my first time pre-ordering in-store. I usually order online, but I'm tired of worrying whether or not my doll(s) will arrive and if they do that they will arrive unharmed. It surprises me how many people get up early to walk the mall. I would never get up this early just to walk. Only something like this LE Frozen doll release would get me up this early.

I am totally with you on that!

2 sets pre-ordered in store.

1 set for me and also the bluray/dvd combo too :0 Sis couldn't get the time off work, I had to get to work early and leave later than normal tonight.

I was #1 in line at the store and I got there at 8:50 a.m. (store opens at 10 a.m.). #2 got there about 9:05 p.m. (guy who only wanted Elsa) and it was just the two of us so we opened the store! I got to wear the kids size Sorcerer's cloak (well, worn as a cloak) and the guy wore the little Sorcerer hat, obviously meant for kids.

Same thing at my store in Riverside, CA. Anna there, no Elsa. 18 of each available for pre-order.

Ahhh you had the awaken the magic ceremony!! That's the ceremony at our store location. It's soo cute & get to light up the book as well, it's pretty awesome for all ages. But good that you've got your dolls reserved & everybody else who did it in store :D

that made a chuckle!
poor elsa, no escaping the storm...

hmm, i need to call them to substract the shipping on my order, but i'm too afraid that they might just cancel my order entirely... what should i do?? maybe wait a few days?

Hi guys

I stayed up to order Elsa early this morning, and got an email confirmation at 2:09am CST and I just checked my order status and it still says active. Does that mean that everything is okay and that I actually got a doll? lol I'm new to this. Has anyone had there orders cancelled?

Omgosh this made me laugh xD People on my university's FB page were posting gifs of Elsa since we keep getting freezing rain and then snow, so people were literally skating down the roads at one point haha!

I feel a bit better now after what others said earlier about Anna being really nice and then if they make an LE Kristoff (if they do, money aside, I will definitely be getting him lol) he'll match her.

And for those wondering about deboxing their dolls, I'll share with you what I do. When I first got the 2011 Designer dolls, I was terrified of deboxing them, even though I absolutely loathed all that plastic in behind (and I definitely hated the background on them and my Cinderella's cardboard was bent and everything). So they sat on a table all packaged up carefully for almost 2 years. Then with the DFDC set coming out, I thought "If I paid this much for these dolls, why am I worrying about deboxing them that much? I'm going to ENJOY them!" and I got to work. I went and I got a craft knife, some small scissors, tweezers, etc and I cut all that ugly packaging out. Then I wanted the back of the cardboard since it had nice artwork and the COA, but didn't want the other side showing. So I cut off the back portion, removed the ugly background and I glued some scrapbooking paper to the front portion of the piece I was keeping and slid that back into the case. I think my dolls look so much nicer now, their backgrounds all have different patterns and colours to match them. I was not worried about the DFDC set and I even took out Snow White's braid and fixed some pieces so I think they look better in their cases. I had a bit of an accident with Ariel where the craft knife slipped and got embedded in my finger, luckily I only bled on the cardboard part I was throwing away (I made sure I wiped it up) and the COA and dolls are fine and I didn't need stitches, but be careful if you're handling sharp objects. Anyways, I had no restraints when opening Elsa and taking out her of her packaging (luckily the cardboard backing on the LE's are much nicer and thicker so it doesn't get quite so mangled taking the dolls out). I say if you're going to enjoy them more out of the box, then go ahead and do so and just go slowly if you're nervous. Same thing for the packaging- if you like them in mint condition then keep them that way as well. It's really down to if you want to sell it later and how you want to enjoy them (it's your money spent, your dolls, so do with them what you will :) )

Here's some of my dolls after I finally deboxed them:

So, I've been absent from this site since october, and really don't feel like reading through 100+ pages of comments. What's been going on lately?

Anything exciting?

frozen came out
then a week before that the first set of elsa and anna came out
then frozen premiered and everything was sold out
now last night the 2nd set of dolls sold out
and everything else is still sold out

thats what happened since october

Haha Thanks for catching me up! I really wanted to go see frozen for my birthday. (nov 29th) We never did though.

The frozen dolls are gorgeous, but I can only afford to stick with collecting my favorite movies merch/dolls.

Hahahaha! Couldn't have explained that better myself xD

I just gave my dad's credit card back to him (I pay for the dolls, but I just give him the money and use his card) and told him I had good self restraint and didn't bother buying Elsa last night, even though I was tempted. Know what he said?! "Oh, you could have gotten it if you really wanted to and just paid me back later."

I think I died a little bit. I know I wasn't going to get her and I just don't have room, but I had it all reasoned out and was okay with it. Now I'm sad again lol

looking through ebay's sold listings and holy crap this pair sold for $10k what in the hell??

and the new set sold for 600... well the scalpers are making a profit!

All auctions selling the new set are violating ebay's pre-sale policy. I have been reporting each auction, the more people who can help report the better:

What you do is click the "Report Item" link in each auction
The first drop down choose "Listing Practices"
Next drop down choose "Inappropriate Seller Terms"
Next drop down choose "Presale"
Click "Continue" and then click "Send Report"

Ebay requires pre-sales to be shipped within 30 days and obviously these sellers can't do that because the dolls don't even come out until March 18th

lol thanks
and thats a bummer
me
ever since this past summer ive been buying all my own stuff
so i knew i was getting both and i ordered both
i just dont want to get a cancelled email so the next few months is going to be stressful(i dont relax until i have them in my hands)
so yeah
and im sorry about your situation
i would of cried

That is always the most annoying thing. I HATE guilt trips! How do you know your kid will appreciate it more than me? Has HE/SHE been waiting and speculating and hoping and dreaming just for the tiniest picture or sliver of info? Do they sit up till 3:00 A.M. on the internet the night of and sit in agony until the dreaded hour? I don't think so! I can at the very least love and want something just as bad as your child, so I don't need your guilt trips!

That sounds horrible! I can't believe people would deliberately try to make others feel guilty. BUT, maybe some kids do really want the dolls? For SQ Elsa and Coronation Anna I slept for nearly two hours, got up at 2 a.m., and waited in front of the store until opening missing half a school day. I kind of feel bad for dragging my parents with me. There was this other guy there who kept saying that his niece really needed the dolls. Even though he was scrolling through Elsa listings on eBay on his phone. (Thanks to my mother's spying xD).

I think the display case for these dolls are genius! More dolls should have this style of box. I think I would like them even more if they had no back card and just displayed like a doll under glass so you can see her from all angles.

Thanks, it's actually alright though. When they announced the dolls I wasn't even sure if I was going to get Anna. I only own one other 17" LE just because they're so big and I don't have the space for them (and I mostly collect the designer series which still take up a lot of room). It was more that I have no self restraint so I wanted to collect both of these but there was no point since I don't own coronation Anna and I much prefer Elsa's icy look. My dad sort of threw me off about it, but I figure if in the future I want more room for dolls, I'll probably just save up and buy them off the secondary market.

Except by doing this process you make the actual doll value raise once they get in the 30 days, I could easily see the dolls inflated value go up 2 to 3 times. You are just delaying the inevitable, I saw that someone bought the 2 dolls together for $250 on ebay and if you think about it that was a good deal, but by keeping them from selling now (with say a ton of listing today flooding the market and spreading the bidding out. Now they will occasionally go on sale for high prices and when the 30 days do come in they will start to show up again, but now with collectors waiting 30 days more to get a product they desperately want. I'm not saying it's right but in essence you are just making the market worse for people that might be able to score a deal today or this week with a huge quantity out there.

I deal with this all the time with Mondo posters (which as much as people complain I've never seen an auction reject because it's usually more than 30 days out before you get the poster). When they all flood at once I've been able to get some good deals and score if it's a hot poster but when it's a poster that I've really wanted and I wait a while I usually end up paying a premium because everyone is bidding on 1 to 2 of these.

I get it, I totally do, I would be pissed but you are just delaying and raising the market for these items because there are people that do pay those prices and now they are desperate to get that doll at a higher market value. I hope I'm wrong but if you continue to cancel this orders (as it's in the right to do in Ebay's policy), all it's doing is increasing a demand for the product.

In the end I hope you got your dolls and I hope everyone that is a collector got their's as well, good luck to all.

That's true but I really liked the artwork on the back of the case with the COA and they're on a bookshelf right now so you can't see the back anyways. At least it's better than the same beige background for all of them lol

There were only three people in line at my store. I was second at about 50 minutes prior to open and the next person didn't show up until maybe half an hour or fifteen minutes before. Compared to the 2500 release when there were at least eight people in line, this was totally tame and easy breezy. A fourth showed up right before open but she only wanted Anna.

My store also did not have an Elsa display doll, only an Anna, but she looks so much cuter in person.

Sorry the pictures aren't the best, I was holding up the line so I snapped them real fast :P

p.s. Am I the only one who gets just a teeny bit irritated when people say ANN-ah instead of AHN-ah? After you've already seen the movie and/or you're a cast member? Okay I'm done :D Good feelings, ya?
