Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
Yes, since there's no contract or anything, there's pretty much nothing you can do. It's horrible. I also think it was somewhat an international trade, since I know the girl who was tricked was in America, but the girl who tricked her was part of the major French group for LE dolls on FB (presumably the owner of the group) - so probably a person in a French speaking country like Canada or France.

It's unbelievable to what lengths some people would go. I mean... they got Snow White for free (only postage cost of the empty box), but how can you look at that doll and live with yourself after knowing how heartbroken the other person is?!
Some people are heartless.

Super sad story:(( ~Off topic but I just watched an old Project Runway All Stars, where the designers created a dress for Miss Piggy. It was so cool!! I loved her growing up. She has always been so sassy and stylish. Made me think that Miss Piggy really should have her own Limited Edition Doll. There is so much that they could do with her. Considering what a true fashion icon she has always been. Fun idea to ponder... -BTW I love how international this site is. Disney fandom really brings awesome people together worldwide!! Anyways, have a great weekend everyone!! Aloha :wavey:

Hugs for everybody

From the Disney Collectors item FB group:

"Are you ready for some big Disney Doll news!? The second (DFDC) Designer Doll Couple Collection has officially been confirmed the collection will release this spring/summer 1.Tiana and Prince Naveen, 2. Aurora and Philip, 3. Pocahontas and John Smith, 4. Mulan and Shang, 5. Cinderella and Prince Charming.. I'm not sure if this is the release order or not but it is the order they show up in. Each couple set will be $129.95 just like last year. Also Disney Store got a UPC code for a 17'' Princess Aurora Doll that will retail for 119.95 no specific release date but I expect we will see this doll May/June, and maybe a preorder late March/ early April along with the Maleficent Movie ... 17'' Maleficent and Philip have yet to be confirmed..start saving your money now people!"

So if this is true, they're upping the prices of the LE 17" dolls...

Thank you for sharing! Hmm. From that set, I think I'd only be interested in Tiana and Naveen. :) My mom would probably love cinderella and her Prince, though.

That's interesting about the price increase as well. I mean, which girls are left ( that they'll make)? Aurora, Mulan, Jasmine, and Pocahontas? I'm not immensely interested in those, but I'd probably buy a Mulan or maybe a Pocahontas if they were released. I would love it if they made Giselle or Esmeralda. Hopefully this might mean that they'll make more princesses and characters?

I think that a Maleficent and Phillip are a given. There was that picture of the face molds leaked with the Ursula mold a while back.

Well the good news is I only want Aurora/Phillip, so hopefully it wont be too hard to get them. That will have to be a late night online. I dont want to miss out on her.

Im still hoping for a LE Aurora/Phillp/Maleficent as well. Its going to be an expensive doll year for me.

Although, the dates seems early on this, since the last DFDC was end of summer/early fall right?

Yes, the last DFDC was around Sep/Oct (not that I knew of the release back then, unfortunately)
I also think it sounds a bit early, but who knows. Maybe to make room for something else in the fall XD

Since the comments doesn't mention any date when it comes to Aurora - except their personal speculation, I still think it's plausible that she will be released in the fall. Which also would make sense why the couples are rumored to be released in the summer.

I would say that the releases would be the same as last year Aurora with the bluray with a preorder late July early August and then the designer set being released from Aug-Oct. Dont forget the first designer doll last year was released in August hence why we generally have a doll fix from July all the way to October with dolls being released frequently between this period.

Then we may get a possible release in november to coincide with the WDAS movie release that usually comes out around the Thanksgiving/November period.

I find those release dates hard to believe based on past releases. As much as I am looking forward to the new Designer and 17" dolls, I would rather wait and have more time to save for them. I hope the price increase for Aurora isn't true, but I wouldn't be surprised. $20 is a significant increase. If they have to do it, $10 is a more reasonable increase. If they do increase the price for Aurora, they better go all out for her design because as it is $100 is already a good chunk of change.

I don't mind a price increase as long as it's a increase to every country and that they put all their effort into Aurora like they did with some of the LE dolls ie Snow White as that would justify the price increase. I don't blame Disney when they can see what people are willing to pay on eBay for past dolls .

I think disney upped the price to keep scalpers and parents (who buy these dolls for their kids) away. Although $20 isn't really much when you can get triple the price on eBay.
But as most people have said, Aurora isn't that popular and I highly doubt the ebay market will drag her price up. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if Disney lowered her edition size.
I suspect that the main doll will be Maleficent, which I honestly think disney should up her size to either 4000 or 4500.
Nonetheless, I will be getting 2 of each dolls. Sleeping Beauty happens to be a favorite of my sisters (one of them will treat the doll as her grail). Fortunately for me, they offered to pay for the majority of them. I just have to order them. lol. Maybe I should charge interest rates.
My sister learned after what happened with SQ Elsa. She told me not to get one, I got one for the other sister, and when she saw it she got really mad cause she missed out.

On a different note.. I just saw people bid more than $700 on SQ Elsa. :O

And the cheapest Snow White is now $1200.

I have seen Elsa being sold for a lot higher, she passed 700 dollars weeks ago. She was sold for 1200 dollars recently. Overall she's sold for around 750-1000 dollars. Crazy.

Why would they be releasing them this early, when sleeping beauty's blu ray isn't out till the fall ?
I think it will be like last year with the LE doll being releases with the DVD/Bluray in the Fall

I dont mind the price increase either, I think we will see them keep going up and up each year as they get more and more popular.

Sadly I dont think a DS price increase will keep the scalpers away. They just get more on the secondary market anyways.

The secondary market is absolutely insane. No chance my elsa is going anywhere. My family are urging me to sell her, but I just can't and besides I'd feel quite guilty taking that amount of money from someone when I only paid £60!

Wow! That's something I hadn't considered. I guess im pretty naïve. People can be so cruel, cant imagine how it would feel to get ripped off like that. Im glad I didn't do a trade.

Which store did you go to? I've only been to the Pineville one for the designer couples release (my sister and I got both Anna and Elsa's online). But when I went there, they wouldn't let you look at the couples dolls before you bought them. You just had to hope nothing was wrong with them...

I have bought a couple dolls from the pineville store as well and they wouldn't let me look at the dolls before prepurchase either. Luckily my dolls were okay as it would be impossible to exchange because of the raffle/sell out. Maybe this store only got a small amount of dolls and had to really limit what they could offer per person. I find it less stressful to order online!!

Do you think it will end up costing a fortune to buy a Tink on the secondary market later, if we miss out in store?

I honestly dont think so. I think it will be like Eric and Ursula which have flooded the market, and sellers cant get rid of them. Most are selling at or below their retail

I agree I think Tink will sell out relatively quickly, not in minutes but maybe hours mainly due to scalpers buying her thinking that they can make a good profit from her but I dont think she will sell for more than at least double what she is retailed at now. Especially if the item floods the secondary market. i.e more availability will mean higher purchasing power to the buyer.

Please don't mention purchasing power to buyer.... Sorry. Just got out of marketing and management exams. Lol.

The new designer line won't sell as fast the others. And like Polaris said, over flooding the market will bring prices down. Scalpers will want to sell and if competition was high they'll have to reduce their prices.
