Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information

That is a good point, that would be frustrating though as that would mean we are only up to March and would have 6 dolls released. That is 5 more than last year's China Doll LOL. But I guess you guys are right, if Disney can milk the Frozen merchandise hype then why not release as many LEs as possible LOL. They will look amazing next to my Anna and Elsa dolls especially as a set!

Gosh at this rate I will need to expand my house to find more room for these dolls

Thinking about it.......

1. Anna
2. Elsa
3. Hans
4. Kristoff
5. Possible Maleficent movie doll.
6. Aurora
7. Phillip
8. Maleficent
9. Big Hero 6

So considering that we already spent the $200 when pre-ordering Anna and Elsa.. folks, get ready to fork up at least $700 in dolls this year.

How many did we get last year lol?

Also we have to consider Hans role in the movie as they've been including a lot of the *Not good guys* as the surprise so maybe he has a chance at release.

I have my fingers crossed for a Kristoff!

Ouch, my wallet hurts just thinking about it! (although not enough to keep me from spending, obviously...)

Well I did a calculation of how much all the dolls would cost during the year including the designers and I think that came to about $1,700? That didnt take into account the possible Hans/ Kristoff doll. Also dont forget from Aurora onwards we should be expecting a price increase of about $20 per doll.

If they do release a LE doll based on a character from the Maleficent movie, I wonder who it would be. At this rate I find it a lot more unlikely that we will get a release but who knows if Disney does do a surprise Hans/Kristoff then anything is possible.

Last year we had the 5 designers plus the extra D23 set making it 6. China Doll, the 3 TLM LE dolls and the two Frozen LE dolls so a total of 12 dolls. Oh 13 if you count the Harrods set.

So just in the first half of the year and we already have half the number of dolls released compared to last year.

Also we have to consider Hans role in the movie as they've been including a lot of the *Not good guys* as the surprise so maybe he has a chance at release.

Yes but last year they also introduced the male counterpart with the release of the first male LE doll (within the heirloom collection) in Prince Eric so really at this point if there were to a LE doll release then both have a good chance of being released as a surprise.

Oh yes I wasn't saying that a kristoff was less likely than a hans if anything kristoff is a definite but im saying hans has a good chance too.

Welp... I'm gonna feel terrible for writing this down but I am gonna do in white font. I don't want any cast members to get in trouble.

*I read on tumblr that apparently, there's a surprise doll release on March 18. I'm assuming it's Kristoff. *

Yes! I saw that, too! Okay, I know this is a little far fetched... But Saving Mr. Banks is coming out on March 18th, too. I would be the happiest girl in the world if the surprise doll was Mary Poppins. I mean, seriously, how gorgeous would an LE Mary Poppins be? I can just see the white dress and hat. Makes my heart flutter.... I know I know, they probably would have done it for the 50th anniversary. A girl can dream.... *sigh*

And if these dolls continue to do so well we can see many rare characters. But how long will this line last?
I can see them developing a brand new line in 2016 when Snow White is re-released.

Oh yes, please! Mary Poppins is my #1 favorite Disney character, and I would absolutely love it if they came out with an LE doll! Unfortunately I think you're right -- if they were going to do it they probably would have released her with the 50th Anniversary Edition Blu-Ray/DVD. However, the "official" 50th anniversary release of the movie is August of this year... but I know that's just wishful thinking!

I think it's cause Disney doesn't have the rights for Mary Poppins. Kind of like how if they have her in the parks, the photopass people can't be there.

It's the same reason the "Art of Animation" resort plays crappy new renditions of the original songs.

If they were to release a LE doll based on a live action character this would be the first. I think Mary Poppins would be an amazing doll and has the potential to have that classic look that Snow and Alice shares.

It seems like if that were the reason, they wouldn't be able to have her character at the park. So sad, she would be lovely.

I was actually told by the people working there and I did notice it. When She was there it was just a cast member, no one with a camera.

Thanks for the info. Since you mentioned it, I think back to my many Disney visits and can't believe I never noticed. I have read that Travers hated the movie, but I never knew that Disney couldn't do certain things with her character. So interesting to know.

What about the other merchandise? I have a figurine and a plush Mary Poppins. Wouldn't that be the same thing? I also have the doll they sold for the Broadway show. Is there a difference, do you know?

Well I heard back from the seller and he will give me a partial. Im so glad he saw it my way.
Glad you were able to resolve that.

Personally I would prefer Kristoff just because Hans would look similar to Prince Eric and we already have a doll of him.

Also Kristoff would be a completely different look/mould compared to all the current LE dolls out there.
I was thinking about not continuing to collect Frozen and giving up my LE Anna but if they make Kristoff (which I hope they do) I might have to get him. They'd be a cute couple. If they made a Hans I wouldnt buy him. I didnt like his character at all in the movie really. (I know we were not supposed to in the end, but I didnt even care for him in the beginning. LOL)

A LE Mary would be awesome, Im not a MP collector, but I might have to get her if they ever did one.

But they already sell Mary Poppins stuff in the Disney store, like this soft doll :

I had suggested a few months back they might release an LE Mary with the UK premiere of Saving Mr Banks and that didn't happen, but the US has a much bigger market and if this rumored doll release is indeed the date of Saving Mr Banks in the US then well I think it's very likely to be her!

That plush mary is beautiful, I don't think ive seen it available in the u.s.

I honestly have no idea. All I know is what the cast members told me. They said it was the same thing with Tarzan. I bought a postcard from disney and at the bottom it had the copyright for disney, but also another copyright for Tarzan.

I would be the happiest person on the planet if they released a 17" Walt Doll!! To me that would be the best surprise ever! Although I would love a Mary Poppins 17" doll, they have released Mary Poppins dolls in the past, I think a Walt doll is long over due. ♥

Oh my goodness! YES! That would be amazing!
True, they have released other Mary Poppins dolls, but none that meet up to what she could be as a 17" LE doll. I think either would be amazing, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I would love a 17" Jolly holiday Mary! My mom and I would just about die! We love Mary Poppins so much. That is my favorite outfit from the film. I would love a Kristoff as well, just NOT NOW DISNEY! Oy. They think we're made of money. :sigh:

Oh my goodness, I KNOW! I might have to choose between dolls and food....
