Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
The amazon seller agreed to cancel, so I just bought this Rapunzel. Thank you for finding her - you just saved me 10,000 yen! Guess I have to start searching in romanji letters from now on as well.

For people who asks,
I got Alice on what's called yahoo! Auctions - the Japanese version of ebay, but they won't ship internationally and all communication is in Japanese. Alice was just a freak of nature like chance for me, since most dolls are more expensive in Japan than ebay. Alice is only the second time I got lucky - first time was when I got the Frozen november set for 600 USD - when Elsa alone was 700 USD on ebay.

Why didn't I find this when I searched?!!!! Maybe because they have her name in romanji and I only searched for her Japanese name, which only gave me the Wedding version.
Dammit! I've requested a cancellation of my amazon order, but it's probably too late.

Always try both for Japanese sites, never know what you can find

Just got an e-mail from yahoo saying the item is sold out ... So they're cancelling my order... Guess it's back to amazon :( of course I will do a quick search first, but since the amazon seller said they would cancel the order after I have confirmed what to do with the Tiana doll, I guess I must return to them on my crying knees haha.

Oh wow, that's a first! Not surprising though really. Gonna suck to tell my friend she's missed out but oh well >.<

This has always been the case for preorders, was the same for Ariel, Cinderella, Tiana, Snow, Belle and Rapunzel. So pretty much all dolls that had a preorder were only available during the preorder and once the preorder sold out the dolls sold out. Of course in the case of the earlier dolls where they did not sell out immediately they were available in store on release as the preorder did not sell out. But in all other cases where there has been a preorder once it sells out that means that you will no longer be able to get the dolls in store.

Dont get the LE preorders mixed up with the Designer preorders as they are different. Designer preorders are to preorder the entire set beforehand that way you dont have to worry about trying to get each doll at every release because you preorder the entire set. In the case of the LE dolls the preorders are for the entire stock if you read the information released on both the Disney Store facebook page and the blog it actually explains this to you.

Yes there may be exceptions like last year a Disney Store opened up in Canada and during the opening they had some Ariel dolls for preorder, or on rare occasions you will have the dolls appear online again due to cancelled orders but you can never tell if or when this will happen. So really the only way to guarantee getting the dolls would be to order them at preorder or to order them from the Euro stores as they do not have preorders.

Now that definitely stinks. Definitely worth a shot. We have the tinkerbell dolls, but I wasn`t too worried about trying to collect past princesses, they will probably come back out with some sort of new LE of all the characters eventually, I think

I am rather confused! Can UK (and those based in Europe) get the Elsa & Anna dolls online on the 18th? (As well as pop along physically to the store) ?

I know this is a thread for the 17" dolls but does anyone know or think that when Frozen is released on blu-ray on March 18th that the Disney Store will get a new shipment of the classic 12" Anna and Elsa dolls. I have been trying to get them since Christmas but Disney Store has been sold out since. I would think they would restock on that day to help promote the film. I was lucky enough to get the 17" singing Elsa during Christmas.

The classic dolls are not limited items, so yes they will get back in stock, we just don't know when. I know they got them back in stock in Denmark last week, so I'm sure they will be back in the US and UK as well. Disney just haven't been able to keep up with the extreme demands. And it takes time to produce new shipments - people just need to be patient.

Good evening!

I haven't got any of the LE Dolls since I've literally discovered them this year, but hope to score March Elsa and Anna since I'm in the UK and there was no preorder. Fortunately, I literally live about a 15 minute walk away from a large Disney store, although I will be ringing the day before or so to check they will definitely have them in stock. Otherwise, it’ll be hoping for online. I know they had the fairies (which is a good sign) and the only reason I didn't get them because I'd rather save the money for ones I do want, which aside from the March Frozen dolls, consists of LE Aurora and Fairytale Designer Aurora and Philip to be released this year. At least, that is as long as I like the designs. Other than that, the only ones I'm interested in are LE Alice, Rapunzel (both Deluxe and Ever After), November Frozen and the Fairytale Designer Rapunzel and Flynn. Aside from the Deluxe Rapunzel, Alice and November Frozen which I simply can’t afford at this stage, I’m holding off on the other two since their prices seem pretty consistent currently and I’d rather get the dolls that are released this year at retail price. Anyway, as unnecessary as this post was, I wanted to write it. Thank you for your time!

PS. Very envious of your Alice find!

Hi, welcome!
I also discovered the dolls this year - think many did because of the Frozen craze.
You have a nice taste in dolls :)

Yes, I was a great find - even my husband who has no interest in the dolls (except for the fact that he's the one paying) couldn't believe how cheap I got her. It was surely my lucky day.

Love this! lol

No there are no more Snow Gear Anna and Coronation Elsa dolls coming out for sale on the 18th as all the preorders have sold out. I believe people are referring to a potential surprise release on March the 18th but that is purely speculation at this point in time as nothing has been confirmed by Disney. We should be hearing something from them over the next week or two as they usually release some information about these releases prior to them coming out at least a week before hand. Either way it would be a good idea to prepare for something on the 18th since that is when the dolls and the movie are being released.

As for as the pre-orders go, that I understand. It would be a first that disney released more after a pre-order has sold out of a particular doll :), I just want to be prepared then if their is speculation that another doll will be released on the 18th. If its another frozen doll that would make a total of 5 dolls for just one movie! What if they decide to release 2, both Hans and Kristoff, that would be exciting, but insane at the same time as I think we will all pretty much starve since we won't be able to buy food in order to buy the dolls.

I really wish they would surprise us with a Walt doll since Saving Mr.Banks is released the same day, but Im not holding my breathe, I know chances are slim to none.

Sorry yeah I was just trying to avoid the confusion because I think there are a lot of new members on here lately most of whom have either been misinformed or dont know how the release works so I just used your query to help clarify that and avoid any confusion going forward.

I agree a Disney doll would be amazing but it would be hard for them to do a doll based on an actual person instead of a cartoon as all the dolls have big eyes and cartoon-like features it may be a while before Disney goes down that track since they only recently started doing male dolls.

I do hope that we get a surprise release on Mar 18. I was always expecting something to be released as it would seem silly of Disney not to take up the opportunity to do so, so to me it seems very likely. Guess we will just have to wait and see :)

No worries, :) I understand, it is nice to try and inform others better. Their always seems to be a lot of confusion concerning the pre-orders. I cant wait for these next couple of weeks to pass by, I am so anxious for DS to ship the Frozen dolls and see whats the big surprise for the 18th :D

When should I expect my card to be charged for the Frozen dolls?

Again this has been discussed before and is detailed in the informative thread but you should expect them to take a hold on the cards again from around two weeks before the release (so if you are referring to the Frozen dolls to be released in March that would be from next week) and then they will charge it when the order is ready to be shipped.

There has been a lot of repeat questions on the forum lately so just as a refresher you can find most of the answers to your questions the informative thread which is on the top of the Other Disney Collectibles page.

Can you please take the time to read this first prior to posting questions on here as you should find that in most cases it should answer your questions.

I don't know about Alice but I saw both China Doll & QoH in my local store for sale when they were released. I didn't know they ever did online or in store only (?) Either way, my store is closed now - been going there since I was a child :( - so I hope they are always available online going forward!

Does anyone think the prices on these dolls (ALL of the 17" in general) will go down at all or are these super-high prices on eBay here to stay? I've been reading here on the boards estimated prices for some these dolls but the ones I'm seeing for sale on eBay are way higher. Looking back about a month or two at the sold listings, the prices have definitely gone up, and I am not talking about Snow White, Frozen, or Rapunzel but even some of the supposedly less popular ones.

I don't have any of the older 17" dolls - the only doll in my collection at the moment is SQ Elsa and I have the March Frozen dolls on preorder. I'd like to start getting a few of the older releases but don't know if I should wait for better deals or is this as good as it gets.

I don't have much experience with this -- is $650-$700 normal for a Rapunzel (Purple) for example? I was hoping to at least eventually get Coronation Anna to complete my Frozen collection. I went for broke on Sq Elsa thinking I could get Anna later as she was cheaper at the time, but now even she's gone from around $400-$500 up to around $800+. I am wishing now I had spent a little more to purchase a set as there aren't quite as many single Nov Anna's out there anymore.

So, I don't know whether I should focus on getting some of the less costly ones first like Ariel and Cinderella because they will eventually go up or shoot for a Rapunzel or Coronation Anna now before they go over the $1000 mark.

^ It seems like Rapunzel is closing in on having an average price of 500-600 USD on ebay - though she's available on the US amazon for around 400-500 USD. I was disappointed to see her auctions - which had a starting price of 350 dollars, end because people chose the buy now option for 550 dollars. So I looked at the US amazon and got her for 400 dollars a few days ago - because she surely wasn't being sold for that price on ebay anymore.

Almost all the dolls have gotten more expensive - I assume collectors have increased after the release of the Frozen dolls - so it's all about availability and demand. More people want the dolls now, so they're getting more expensive and nobody really knows if their prices are going down in the future. It's gotten crazy.

Thank you, Milaya! They just happen to be my favourite princesses. I also like a lot of the Ariel designs; she’s a very pretty doll with her red hair.

Anyway, I'm having the same problem! Do I buy now or chance it later? Fortunately two that I want (DF Rapunzel & Flynn and Ever After Rapunzel) are consistently priced on eBay at between £100 to £150 with postage. Deluxe Rapunzel is also one I definitely want in my collection, but being in the UK, the only ones I've found are in the US. I don't really want to risk the custom charges, even on ones that claim it is included in the price based on other people's experiences. So it's pretty much a waiting game.

Just to give you an idea prior to Frozen coming out in the movies the dolls were valued at around:

Snow - $650
Belle - $300
Tiana - $300
Rapunzel - $300
Alice - $900

After Frozen came out the value of the dolls increased to

Snow - $1,000
Belle - $300
Tiana - $300
Rapunzel - $450
Alice - $1200

Also I noticed that after the movie came out about 90% of the people on these forums are new members which I found very interesting. All because of the Frozen hype it has impacted on these LE dolls and their value. I have a feeling that getting these dolls in future will just get harder and harder unfortunately.

Also did you notice that the increase only impacted the popular dolls so Rapunzel, Alice and Snow White. Other dolls such as Belle and Tiana have remained relatively similar in price.

Hold out for auctions for those Rapunzel dolls - I got Wedding Rapunzel last week for £74! I had to pay £130 for DFDC Rapunzel and Flynn but I've never really seen them sell for much less than that on UK eBay.

Thanks for the input! So I guess I'd better get what I can sooner rather than later. The more collectors, the more people there will be wanting the dolls...

Well I'm definitely one of the new collectors who found out about these dolls through Frozen -- I wish I had known about them sooner! Although on the other hand, maybe I'd have been better off not knowing about them at all -- at least my wallet would be better off! I could go on such a lovely vacation for the price of all the dolls I want to get! :)
