I just noticed that the prices for these dolls on the secondary market in the UK are crazy. I saw that an Alice doll sold for about 1,200 pounds! (~$2,000 USD) That is almost double what she last sold for in the US. The scary thing is that this time last year your could probably find about 4-5 ebay listing for Alice at around the $1,000 mark and they were deemed ridiculously priced but now it is considered the norm and there are no dolls available.

Looks like Alice is going to become a crazy grail doll for most as there are fewer and fewer of them available on the secondary market. I think behind Alice the next grail doll will be Elsa purely because of numbers and I think the fewer we see of Elsa on the secondary market the more likely we will see her price increase significantly, possibly surpassing Alice due to her popularity. As general advice to anyone still looking for these dolls, if you can find one available online, get it sooner rather than later because 1) they wont last long online and 2) they will only get more and more expensive the longer you wait and the rarer the dolls get.

IDK about UK, but she was going fro $350 USD before Christmas, that sounds like quite a lot of money comparatively

Really? I have always seen her for $600+ . I paid £335 which is about $560 . There are only 500 worldwide so these don't come up often . But if u r right and they usually go for $350 then that's very annoying

Yes, looking at the sold listings on ebay it's really crazy. Lately I have mostly seen Alice being sold for 1,400-1,600 USD. That's seriously a lot of money for a doll.
And I also agree about the prices - a lot of people seem to think that they can wait it out, that the prices will go down, though I've kept saying that the fact that less and less people are selling the dolls, they will become more rare and the price is deemed to go up. I remember reading back in december people complaining about not wanting to pay 300 USD for Elsa, because that was too expensive and her price would go down... Look what happened.

I've always seen her around the $350-400 mark. It sure does suck when people take advantage of others and make them overpay... :dislike:

But, often the dolls do tend to be more expensive in Europe than the US on the secondary market (I especially noticed this with the Fairytale couples) - comparing ebay prices. So guess it's not really easy to find a QoH for such a price in the UK.

At the end of the day these don't come up too often in the UK so it's hard to say how much is too much but just think how happy it will make your little girls :)

My comment was just food for thought in general. I don't post much here anymore in general since a lot of us have migrated elsewhere, but I was around collecting these well before the Frozen hype and just know now there are a lot more people who are willing to take advantage of others... Even here on the forum. Just thought I would throw it out there.

Well I bought queen of hearts for £335 delivered.
I apologise if if I come across rude but do you just buy dolls for a good price and resell them at profit ? Most of your posts are all about what's it worth or cost value and you say you selling to raise cash and then your buying more dolls or asking people How much they are willing to pay for certain dolls. Curious and curiouser!!

Not that it's any of ur business and by the way u r rude. I said I was seeking my frozen ones to raise cash that's it .But I sold my frozen ones to raise cash for my new baby But I have been given a pay rise in my job so therefore I am buying again. Anyway I was asking peoples opinion of the queen of hearts so I knew if It was a good deal or not. How am I hurting anyone. Makes me laugh it's all well and good typing messages like that but would u say anything if someone in disney store bought 4 of the same dolls. No prob not.

I think as a fellow collector you can / should appreciate that this is a doll collecting community and as such, we look out for each other. If we see others who make fishy posts, yes, we are going to call each other out.

Would we say something to someone in a store buying 4 of the same LE doll? We would, but we wouldn't have to since that wouldn't be allowed.

It's getting harder and harder for collectors to collect these dolls with the increase of scalping activity, not just with scalpers but with collectors buying extras to raise money for other dolls or *babies* or whatever. A lot of us are here because we want the DOLLS. Period.

And for the record when I went to the Designer Fairytale release for Ariel and Eric (my first and only in store release) we were all calling out the obvious scalpers there, one guy was called from the raffle, he had headphones in and looked as bored as could be to be there - not an excited collector about to get his dream doll :(

But that's just me, I'll tell people like it is in person or wherever else.

I think its a little heartbreaking there are scalpers out there. I am pretty new. I am sooo catching up. I'll never ever be complete but I'm happy to have started with the fairies and the frozen dolls that are coming out in March (yay!). Me and a friend of mine has also fallen in love with collecting disney dolls. Her all time favourite is Rapunzel while mine is Ariel. We'd both love to be able turn back time and pick-up the couples from last year (and the 17" releases). We can't afford the asking prices for Ariel and Rapunzel, at the moment! We're saving for the march release of Frozen sisters. Then maybe we'll start trying picking up funds for Ariel and Rapunzel. But with scalpers out there...its gonna be difficult. Its nice to have a good mate with me in queue as we're gonna head to the store to pick up our sisters.

And I will say this! Its lovely to join this forum and see lovely like-minded collectors out there. A very nice welcome indeed.

First of all a polite pm would of sufficed but u know people run there mouth before there brain kicks in !
Secondly I sold my 1 frozen set because we needed to buy stuff for our baby! Or as u put *baby* implying I am lying!
yes I know it's hard to get these dolls as there are a few I still need . I am a genuine collector and do not need to prove that to u or anyone else. If I wanna ask how much a doll is worth because I am going to buy it I will. God sake move on

Oh, and no, I said *babies* as an insert, meaning that was your example, but others may buy extras as a means to raise money for other things. I didn't mean you were lying. In fact, I was speaking more in general than just at you. I just meant scalping these dolls has gotten so bad that even collectors are scalping them. Don't take it personal... unless you should?

Anyway, I'm really excited for March 18, and hopefully all you across the pond who don't get a preorder are able to get your dolls. As much as we on this side feel so anxious having to wait 2 months after preordering to actually get them, I can imagine how much worse you guys feel waiting for the date.

Good luck, everyone! It's exactly 2 weeks away :)

Well said!
