Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
+1

Surely now that they have released a LE doll of a direct to video character (Zarina) that sold out quickly, characters such as Kida can't entirely be out of the question.

I loved Queen Kida. As you say its a little bit of a longshot but I get the sense the LE & designer doll lines are really on a roll so it wouldn't be too difficult to imagine the likes of Kida have her own doll as the movie has its own cult following.

Disney should just release a designer heroines collection.

I was hoping for this since the first designer line was released! And with the number of heroines they have available, they could probably do another full line of 10 at once. But unfortunately they went right into the villains which I really wasn't interested in and then the fairy tale line. I liked some of the princesses from the fairy tale line but just could not get over the blank staring expressions of princes haha

I think Mulan and Pocahontas both have the potential to be beautiful, unique and exquisite 17" dolls. I hope Disney comes out with these eventually -- would love to see.
I know, right...
Mulan could be so beautiful - they could make her some beautiful Chinese clothing... and her make-up could be amazing too.
I declare my life to be complete when a Mulan 17" doll is released... Well at least complete for 10 minutes. XD

I agree. Mulan has potential to be a stunning 17" doll. One of my favorites of her is Mattel's Imperial Beauty (1998). Back when Mattel could make beautiful dolls. :)

I would definitely get Mulan if/when Disney make her :) I'm not so sure on Pocahontas though (but that's more because I have issues with the story of the 'real' Pocahontas which has kind of ruined the Disney version for me :-/)

Ahh yes, that's a beautiful doll - I've been thinking about buying it on ebay or something...

To Graemecookie

I'm getting annoyed by this, I'm getting really sick of this.

Today you just tried to sell the LE Elsa for £850 to me, and i have told you a couple of times by now that it's to much money for just one doll, and would you youself buy a doll for that price? And beside that you just sold her a few days ago. How much dolls do you even have or even better, how about that video you have on Youtube where you say you are going to keep your dolls (the LE Elsa doll that you are now trying to sell for £850) for the future and for your kids to have one day. That's sick man.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5id9DHEpO9U here is the video you maded, i think it's not acceptable to do things like this. And certainly not here on DPF.

I can give you an advice, dont buy those dolls off when you are just going to resell them for a ridiculously high price. You ruin our change for us that are genuine collectors and who really wants them.
Also he said this person who is selling the doll was not him and call the person who called him out a "Idiot" . He deleted the post after the person post a link of his sell of Elsa on DPF though

The next time somebody on a Disney community asks when the March set of Anna and Elsa will be released in Europe - I'm going to pull my hair out! Why don't people look for the information themselves before asking questions?!

Haha, you would think that given that the "Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information" thread exists on this forum there wouldn't be a need for all these questions that are already answered (very well!) in the first couple of posts! When I started collecting dolls I read the first couple of pages and most recent pages of posts on this thread and didn't really have any questions left (other than how I am going to afford all of these lovely dolls ).

Thank you! Finally someone says it lol

Well glad I'm not getting flamed for finally saying it out loud

Yes, when I also recently got into collecting I also spend a lot of time researching to best ways to buy them, the exact release time and etc. which is one of the reasons why I signed up here (also to talk with other doll fans of course ^^) Like you, I didn't have to ask a single question.
This community isn't even that bad - guess because people actually have to sign up before they're able to ask - but on the LE doll FB group, it's pretty much asked every single day!
The first few times it's fine, but seeing the same question 30+ times - it's just getting annoying. Today another person asked on FB and I decided to ask her why people go straight to asking questions instead of searching a bit for themselves - she answered that she had spent 30 minutes researching it without finding an answer - so what was the issue with asking...
30 minutes?! A quick google search "anna elsa march limited disney dolls" gives you the answer in less than 5 seconds... -_-''

Kind of like the people who enters a supermarket and go straight to the staff to ask where the ketchup is instead of looking around first.

Wait, so what month are the March Anna and Elsa dolls being released?

(Just kidding, LOL) I know, I've seen people asking about this so many times. They don't even have to do much research or even Google it, all they have to do is scroll down those postings on Facebook and they'll see someone has already asked the same question the day before, and the day before that, and the day before that ...

Again on the FB group... 23 minutes ago:"Does anyone know the release dates for the Anna and Elsa dolls for the UK?"

Jesus christ! seriously! Like you say amm3, just scroll the damn post - same question appears 6 posts down... I'm going bald here -_-''

Disney Store is trying really hard to crack down on keeping the surprise releases a surprise. Seriously, cast members are getting fired over it. It's hard to say how the dust will settle on that issue. At one point surprise releases just showed up in the store, like Mother Gothel did when Rapunzel hit bluray.

Then last year DS did the opposite, by promoting Eric and Ursula to the point they were barely a surprise. I think that was the final straw for leaking info: the dolls sold out in minutes, mostly to scalpers. And they're the least sought after dolls on the secondary market. I think Disney, like any collectible manufacturer, wants to keep their line hot, especially in resale value. So now they're trying to keep things hush hush. It's kind of annoying, lol.

You have no idea how many times I would have to repeat myself on this forum, I think I had to answer the same question about 5-6 times. Like yourself I had to do the research on these dolls myself and at the time there was no informative thread or a source where all the information was available, so you can imagine how hard it was to find any information on these dolls. This is also the reason why I created the informative thread and even added a FAQ section so that all the information was available in the one location.

We all thank you for that :)
It would be nice if everyone would then just take the time to read it as some of has done before going straight to asking questions.
Like I said, this place isn't even that bad - on FB the question about the release of Anna and Elsa is asked every single day - today even twice and for some reason I thought it was better to blow off steam here than on FB
Well I did try to comment on there as well, just more nicely, like I said, asking why people don't research a bit before asking questions, instead I was told "if people know the answer, I don't see the issue" - well, if you get asked the same question every damn day for two months, maybe you would start understanding the issue!.

I haven't even been a collector for long, so for those of you who has been in the game longer... I just want to say: I feel your pain... XD
I guess there's also an extreme level of newbies lately, because of the Frozen hype.
I don't hide the fact that I'm a newbie as well - I just prefer to do my research properly, by myself, especially now when all the info is served so nicely on a silver platter for us.

LOL I guess that is no surprise about more repetitiveness on facebook, that is why I stay away from those Facebook groups as I know that would just frustrate me haha.

I agree though about doing your own research, my theory is that if you are a true collector and really are excited by these dolls then you would put in the effort to do some research yourself because I figured you would want to know as much about them, I know I did. I sorta feel that those that dont bother doing the research are moreso in it for the hype, either that or they are just lazy LOL.

I really hate surprises lol! I wish I knew whether it's two dolls I'm trying for on the 18th or 3!

Well based on the past few "surprise" releases they have always been announced. Like Quasimodo said the last surprise release that was not announced was Mother Gothel back in 2011. Actually China Doll was not announced but she was not part of the heirloom collection. In 2012 Lady Tremaine was announced on the Disney Store blog about a week before her release and then in 2013 Eric and Ursula were previewed at the D23 expo and then subsequently announced on the Disney Store blog again about a week out from their release.

So if they were to release something on March 18 then I wouldnt be surprised if Disney were to announce something beforehand.

I agree.
For me the whole research in itself was an exciting part.
Guess I'm just the type of person that if I get into something I research every single aspect - then I bore my friends with these details later

Oh yes but then self-doubt starts to creep in! As a newbie myself i saw the March dolls already on sale on ebay and US collectors saying that they'd bought theirs already. Eh? Once I realised some of the quirks of the US store and European I was up to scratch. But sometimes you do start to doubt yourself which could explain the questions (just trying to rationalize it). I think maybe because Disney doesn't announce, like in a magazine club catalog, at the start of the year its up and coming releases like so many companies do people are still not sure about it all - hence the constant questions. This forum is so useful. The brilliant info is all community led. I know friends who collect everything from Star Wars space ships Barbie's to planes and they know exactly what to expect and when via their according clubs they've signed up to.......also maybe the fact that the dolls sell out so quickly with Disney products plays a part in that doubt - so they just wanna be sure.

I gotta say though - this forum is so insightful & interesting. I've also found it very welcoming.
