Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
On the other side, as ebay is my only chance now to get Anna, can you ladies give me advice?
When should I try to buy Anna? As soon as possible or should I wait a week or two? I don't know if prices right now are high, because of the immediate hype or if they will get higher as more people realize ebay is their only chance?
Tia :)

Well if I were a lady I would say that wait for the market to flood with Anna dolls but keep an eye on the market. If you find anything that appears to be a reasonable price (around the $150 - $250 mark) then I would buy that without hesitation. I dont think these dolls will decrease in price so I would recommend not waiting too long but at the same time dont jump in too early during the hype when everyone is willing to pay more than necessary.

By the way just FYI not all doll collector's are women :)

If you want to continue shitstorming why don´t you stay at the german FB-page, where a nice girl was almost killed for helping others to order a doll?!? This thread (and forum) is a peaceful place and it´s about exchange of information and helping each other and not about malicious gossip. For your consideration, the links were also posted here in this particular thread by another member of this forum and there was no bashing or shitstorming.
And what you wrote is just not true, nobody said that the links were just for "real" collectors (whatever the definition of this is) as they were posted in many public doll forums and on the FB LE dolls page. The point was just, that scalpers who are everywhere maybe didn´t get as many dolls as collectors did. And it´s not cheating to use a public link... if you would have known about the link, you would have purchased as well, I´m sure! So please stop this and don´t bring this cruel behaviour into this forum, that took place on the german FB Disneystore page. There was enough shitstorming there for all time!
As Polaris already cleared here, the problem was the clock-change in the USA, that´s why the dolls were one hour earlier online.

Oh I don't want to continue shitstorming. I am only shocked about this information. Well I am a collector, too and have friends at the university who are collecting, too. They told me to look on the FB Page, and we discuss a long time about this situation. Just because the people are so in FB, you're probably annoyed. Not everyone who mentions the subject is a **** stormer .... That's really mean to accuse me like that. I have kept out everywhere, but the moral question here: "is it ok to use these links?" just makes me crazy and I only want a peaceful answer. I read about so many collectors are sad. One girl is going to sell her whole collection... That makes me so sad. Yeah I read that, that the clock change in the USA was the Problem. Thanks to link me the post :)

I explained earlier what the links are. Like I said I think people have a misconceived idea as to what the links are. At the end of the day that is exactly what they are. They are links and that is it, everyone uses a link to access a website so with regards to your question yes it is ok to use it. All it does is give you direct access to the item rather than trying to find it. In the past most people have always been asking for them here on the forum and expect it really, I think there has been an influx of new people on the forum who are not familiar with how things work within the group and as a result they became agitated when things did not work out with their Frozen order.

But in summary what happens is that when a doll comes out usually someone posts the link on here so that you can access the doll directly. This is why during a doll release the traffic on here increases substantially. During this one particular release there was the issue with the time zones as a result the link was not provided until it was too late.

I definietey think this should be a wake up call for those who are new to the group to actually read the informative threads and possibly read a couple of pages back of this thread to familiarize yourself more with how these releases work, they were not created so that they just look pretty as they are designed to help and to answer a lot of commonly asked questions. Especially if you consider yourself a true collector because that way you are actually making the effort to research for yourself about these dolls which one would assume you are passionate about rather than expecting others to just provide you with information and then get upset when it doesn't work the way you were expecting.

@zatannacat: in my opinion there is nothing wrong by using links which are already out, and I´m sure EVERYONE would have used them, if he´d have the chance to. I did it and I´m so very thankfull that I had the chance to get a doll and still I do feel very pitty for people who didn´t see the link and couldn´t get the dolls. And the problem is not that people used the links, the problem was that the dolls were online one hour to early and people were not informed about it. But it happened and it can´t be changed, so I would say, just forget about it! I missed the first Elsa LE as well and bought her for a much higher price on ebay... this happens to everyone who wants to have a limited item.
My comment was referring to your conclusion about the few people on FB who were trying to defend the girl who was bashed and who actually got the dolls (people like me actually) ... what you wrote was just not the truth.

@OlafOlaf: totally agree!

@ilia89: if you ask me, I would probably not wait too long...I guess that the prices will increase a lot soon... look at all the hysteria that the issue caused. There are now dolls for about 180 Euro out there on ebay... I doubt that you will find dolls for less, so I would get them now!

I think I'm hooked on these dolls already, I'm already squeeing about Aurora. Guess I'll be saving up some money in the next weeks lol.

Me too! I can't wait for Aurora, she's my favourite princess :-) I'm glad to have few months off now to save up for the Fall releases, I definitely want a 17 inch Aurora and a DFDC Aurora and Philip set (assuming they make them).

I'm so curious about her outfit! I really hope it'll be Briar Rose but I doubt it, and I think I have to choose if they make both, DFDC or 17" Aurora. But luckily we still have time to save up lol. I created a separate savings account for Disney collectables that automatically takes €5 from my regular account ever week. Every bits help! :D

Polaris, I don't think the problem was about using links in general. But the fact that this time you could only get to these dolls with those links. There was no other way of finding the dolls than that link because of the one hour they were hidden due to the time difference. I repeat, only way to get the dolls was with the links before 8am in UK time. And majority did not know the dolls were available (but hidden). So the few people who had that link already bought all the dolls and when you could see them, if there was any left, they went to other European site users than the UK users cos the site crashed.

I think there's a lot of confusion and misunderstandings going on! I would like to make this as clear as possible, this is what I've gathered from the situation. But I'm really bad at explaining things. I don't know any forum other than this one so.

And I still don't understand how that link came to be if there was no way of finding the doll pages. The link posting person was DS staff? I read that she wasn't, so how did she do it I just wonder :D

I'm sorry to go on about this, I mean no hate towards anyone just wanted to try to clarify things.. :(

I would agree tho, Disney made a very difficult situation to get these in Europe this time around.

Ok I am done trying to explain any of this I am just trying to help because so many people are lulling over missing out on these dolls. If you really want them then get them off ebay that is what I did to complete my collection.

I was trying to be polite and help explain things to people so that going forward people will know what to look out for but you are still so hung up on missing out on the dolls. You need to understand nothing will change the fact that these dolls are now sold out. Regardless of what happened the fact of the matter is that yes there was a glitch resulting in a difference of an hour but that wont happen again in the future because this was a one off incident because of daylight savings time.

So I think instead of dwelling over things like this move on from this and actually read the posts and the threads like I suggested.

I dont like to get involved in the drama but I dont like that people are attacking fellow collectors about this! It's not any collectors fault this happened, it's Disney Stores fault completely!

I feel really lucky to have got the dolls but I feel terrible for collectors who didnt :(. But disney store should have given europe a higher allocation of the dolls :/ I know last time they didnt sell out fast but that was because the movie hadnt been released yet and i think current ebay prices and success of frozen should have told disney that maybe they should give europe 1000 of the 5000 dolls :/! I also think the UK disney store website needs to be sorted out and more rules put in place because any big release they have, usually a rapunzel pin or something, there's always a problem with the website, it either goes down, they sell the item too early on another european disney store (remember the rapunzel dreams pin fiasco...), or theres some error on the website (e.g rapunzel and max when the website wouldnt let you check out >.<)! So I think Disney Store really need to sort it out :/

But attacking fellow collectors wont solve anything because it is not anyones fault except Disney Stores!!

At the end of the day I think that people just need to stop playing the blame game, the release has come and gone. I know it will take time but people just need to move on. Blaming collectors or the Disney Store wont help.

This happened to me in the past so what I did was better prepare myself for the future so I suggest that instead of dwelling on the past you should work on improving your chances for the future.

At the end of the day, this is a great forum guys, so please stop turning it into a bitter one with all the arguments and remarks as there are other forums out there that you can join should you want to continue that type of conversation.

Well I personally have done nothing of the sorts that you are saying, Polaris, not my first time ordering a doll and I know a lot because in fact I've read both of these threads not every page but a lot. Just because I'm newer member of this forum doesn't mean I'm a complete fool. Not crying over the dolls, or being mad at someone. I was disappointed last morning how thing turned out, yes, just like everyone else. Also you have to realize not everyone here can afford the ebay prices especially the frozen ones.

I am not trying to be anything else than polite as well and I didn't attack you. I just felt you totally left out the fact that there was no other way to get them than with the link. That was my point, and because as I said I'm not good at explaining I tried to make it clear it may have sounded repetitive. I do understand all the thing you have explained but as I just wrote, I felt you left that one thing out. I like your posts because you get to the point and have really good info so the last thing I would like is to attack you. If you left that way, I am sorry.

And I won't take accusations from no one of attacking someone at all. I'm not blaming people and if I am then I'll blame the store mainly for crashing the site, sorry if that is wrong too. When I found this forum I thought what a lovely community and I do not want to stir drama and ruin that. I was just trying to explain something, I thought in a neutral tone.

....... If you find anything that appears to be a reasonable price (around the $150 - $250 mark) then I would buy that without hesitation.......
So If I understand this right a Anna or Elsa limited edition doll is very wanted if it costs less then 250 $ ? I'm not into dolls but there is a (small) chance I could get them for around 225$ per doll (I don't want them myself)
just wondering....

First of all I didnt think you were attacking me i was just pointing out that regardless of whether I said the link was the only was to get the dolls or not the fact of the matter is that will not make a difference as you know that yourself already. Also it wont change the fact that they have sold out. I posted about what the links were about not in reference to what you said but in reference to the past posts where people were actually asking about these "magic links" so i was trying to clarify that the links do not usually give people an advantage but that this one off time they did due to daylight savings time.

If what you say is true and you are in fact reading my posts then you would know that. I am sorry but i am just done trying to constantly trying to explain everything and people not agreeing because it is not what they want to hear. If people just want to hear is that yes everything was unfair and that Disney should change things up just because of this one off instance then fine they can keep believing that but at the end of the day this forum has been going on for some time now and we all learned from our mistakes and supported each other. We didn't banter and we didn't panic so I just want to try and keep that going rather than having 4-5 pages of posts about who is to blame for this release.

So If I understand this right a Anna or Elsa limited edition doll is very wanted if it costs less then 250 $ ? I'm not into dolls but there is a (small) chance I could get them for around 225$ per doll (I don't want them myself)

:cheshire:

I think at the moment you can get her under $200 (Anna Snow Gear that is) so I would stick to that. I think $225 is quite a bit that price range of $250 that I provided above would be acceptable if you really wanted the doll and had the funds and not the patience but I think if you are lucky and keep a keen eye on the releases then I think you should be able to find her for less than $200. I think over time she will start going for more than $200 but initially you should be able to get her for less with the market flooded with the dolls.

In Elsa's case I think anything between the $200-$300 mark would be reasonable based on what I have seen on ebay. To be honest if you want both trying to go for both dolls would be the best way to go. I think bids can get the better deals but yeah just keep an eye out and you should find something good eventually.

I was talking about snow gear Anna and coronation Elsa. I ain't looking for them myself. I though that if they were cheaper this way, maybe I could have helped someone. international shipping would cost an additional 30/50$

Man, I remember that Rapunzel/Maximus release, what a mess. My mother tried to order it for me and she's very passionate if she wants to order something online lol. She refreshed for half an hour straight when she kept having the "time out" page with Mike and Sulley and was able to order one because she was frantically clicking her mouse. It was a hilarious sight but still messy lol. I always hold my heart when a Tangled pin is released online.

But totally seconding this, attacking people because they were able to buy something you couldn't isn't nice. Doing that really puts you in bad daylight, people who attack others because they can't have what they want appear very sour and childish to me. I'm also very sad for the collectors that missed out on these dolls but I'm sure others will gladly help if they bump into something! That being said, congrats to everyone who received their dolls already!

Yep those are the dolls I was referring to.

@Polars: I see now.. I was actually just reading people talking about yesterday's incident, so I thought you were too. It makes sense now, you were just explaining about it on general. My apologies! Maybe it was the worst case scenario to happen and yes, we can only learn from it! I really got the feelig that everyone here is supportive, that's why I really like this community. :)

But well I am done with the subject now, totally accepted what happened, was just trying to help earlier!

I just want to say thank you for everyone on the forum for their advice over the last couple of days. I'm a newbie collector so I was totally clueless before reading this thread. I, like so many people, am disappointed by not getting a doll yesterday but without this thread I wouldn't have even had a chance in hell of getting them. I'm looking forward now to the next release and fingers crossed it works out better for everyone.

Congratulations on those who got their dolls, they look gorgeous :). And best of luck for everyone still trying to get them. x

The next release of the 17" dolls won't be like this one just gone. It's only because frozen was a huge hit and the "general" public wanted the dolls as much as collectors and scalpers. I think the next release they will be a lot easier to get hold of . My little input here :)

I agree, frozen is just crazy everyone loves it so the next release shouldn't be as bad!I am hoping any way lol. Quick question when the Sleeping beauty dolls are released for pre order in the US, can I preorder them from the US site and get them shipped to the uk?

I love Disney Store, their customer service and pin shipping sucks balls but I still love them. And they do try. It's like chocolate, it makes me fat but I can't keep away from it!

@Matthewlondon, I actually think you can do that but not sure though. But it'll be much cheaper if you order from the UK release, shipping and import fees wise.
