Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
Sorry for everyone who missed out. Seems like it was quite the nightmare.

A lot of us are nervous for the Maleficent LE release, that is one that will sell in minutes! I just hope they make her amazing, this is a doll that has the potential for greatness! ♥
Yeah Im nervous for anything SB released this year. I dont think it is AS popular as Frozen has been though. Seems like anything Frozen is bought up and sold out in mere minutes.

BUT I have noticed that with the popularity and craziness of the Frozen dolls seems like some of the older dolls have gone back up in prices on Ebay. So really who knows. I just hope its not as crazy as Frozen as been because im looking forward to a LE Maleficent, Aurora and Phillip more than anything.

Wow, I just got home and read through all of this-- how horrible! I can't believe the dolls went up for sale before 8 AM. That is so ridiculous and no doubt most of them went to resellers...
I can't believe that paltry apology (actually I probably can. At the end of the day Disney doesn't care as long as they get their money  )
I hope everyone who missed them can manage to find one at a reasonable price!!

When I finally decided to start collecting these dolls in January (I had always followed the releases since wedding Rapunzel, but told myself no... You don't need a doll can't afford it...) my dream doll was Purple Rapunzel. But with the frozen craze, her price, along with all the other LE dolls, kept going up uP UP. I finally found one on ebay at $300 BIN and I was so happy, but we received terrible news that day and I hesitated to buy her. Then she sold and I just cried and cried... But a couple days later I bid on an auction and got her for $290 usd! So even if things look really bleak now, don't lose heart! You will get your girls one way or another!
/end awkwardly-written inspiring speech

It was probably the seller that canceled the listing (unless there was something in the listing that was not following EBay rules, and then Ebay would have removed it). I've seen sellers cancel auctions when they don't go high enough and then just relist them. FRUSTRATING!

They may have canceled them because they thought they were going to get the dolls and then they didn't -- so they no longer had the items to sell? Just a thought - especially if the sellers are based in Europe.

And yes, I have seen sellers cancel auctions over and over again sometimes just so they can get a higher price.

if its certain regular ebay seller for uk pins and dolls etc, he had two dolls up for bidding and two dolls up buy it now £400 each, the two buy it now dolls were sold, so i'm guessing he only had two so ended the bidding listings as he had got what he wanted, thats what i guessed anyway

I really love this Page. It is very helpful for a collector. So this Forum and the Facebooksite of limited disney dolls are my daily television :D. I am from Germany. My friends helped me this mornig to buy the new LE Anna- and only her. We were shocked that the dolls came online on 9:15 and they were already sold out. I read that some had the link for the LE Dolls. On other Forums they wrote, buying this dolls with the leaked links was only for the collectors and that other people are not real collectors. That makes me angry. I have 5 LE dolls and because I am student, I can not always spend so much money for this dolls. Under the post of Disneystore (FB) the peoply are crying and they flamed about the people with the link. This people who bought the dolls with the link support this kind of purchase and wrote this kind of cheating is ok, because they are collectors.

But now I read so many posts here, that so many collectors are not be able to buy a Doll because of this problem: start selling the dolls 45min earlier and the sides crashes..

So my question is: is it ok to use this kind of links to get the dolls earlier? Because they will do that again I think... I hope disneystore will fix this problem soon.

I swear!!! DS.com has MORONS that answer the phone!! I've since moved since placing my order for Anna and Elsa. I called well over a month ago to change my address and called to confirm they changed with the correct apt number twice because the delivery address on my end was showing correct, however, it was missing the apt number. Both times I called, I was assured that they had the apt number and both times, the rep confirmed my apt number with me. So, I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of Anna and Elsa today and I'm impatient. So I check the tracking and what do I see???? An exception;action required note for MISSING APARTMENT ###############!!!!!! I'm beyond pissed!! I called ups and they are going to update their information for a delivery tomorrow! Sorry, I just had to rant somewhere:( I'm just really annoyed at the moment!

If you want to continue shitstorming why don´t you stay at the german FB-page, where a nice girl was almost killed for helping others to order a doll?!? This thread (and forum) is a peaceful place and it´s about exchange of information and helping each other and not about malicious gossip. For your consideration, the links were also posted here in this particular thread by another member of this forum and there was no bashing or shitstorming.
And what you wrote is just not true, nobody said that the links were just for "real" collectors (whatever the definition of this is) as they were posted in many public doll forums and on the FB LE dolls page. The point was just, that scalpers who are everywhere maybe didn´t get as many dolls as collectors did. And it´s not cheating to use a public link... if you would have known about the link, you would have purchased as well, I´m sure! So please stop this and don´t bring this cruel behaviour into this forum, that took place on the german FB Disneystore page. There was enough shitstorming there for all time!
As Polaris already cleared here, the problem was the clock-change in the USA, that´s why the dolls were one hour earlier online.
So this is what actually happened.

I dont know if any of you are aware but right now there is a time zone difference between the US and the UK because the US is currently on daylight savings time whereas the UK is not. Now if you guys were aware the reason why the UK releases items at 8am is because 8am in the UK is 12am PST in the UK.

Which makes sense since all the Disney Store's around the world base their release on a 12am release in the US. So what this means is that since the the US has daylight savings time is that 12am in the US is now 7am in the UK. So what happened is that the items are released automatically by the system when it hits midnight in the US. But the actual website does not update until the designated time of 8am. So what was happening was that the dolls actually were available for sale from 7am (12am PST) but unless you had the early links to the page you would not be able to get to the page because it was still in the background and not available on the website even though the system had already released them for sale.

So what this means is that for those that just kept refreshing the page that would not do anything because the actual site has not refreshed and will not do so until 8am this is why everyone that tried searching and refreshing since 8am could not find it.

I found out about this last week when I tried buying the Pain and Panic pin. I noticed that I was able to find the pin a whole hour before it was actually released. I had my suspicious that it would happen again for this release and it did. So really it was a system glitch by the Disney Store because they did not take into account that the US has taken up daylight savings whereas the UK has not.

I am guessing they don't really need to update the website for this as it would time consuming to do so especially since the UK will take on daylight savings from March 30 so it will return back to normal from then onwards. I think it was just an uncanny coincidence that these dolls were released during this period wherein the US and the UK are on out of the ordinary time zones with one having DST and the other not since usually both countries take on DST around the same time.

Received both of my girls this afternoon...they both arrived in perfect condition and are absolutely beautiful in person. :)

I like to open the boxes and look at the Certificate of Authenticity, details, peek at their shoes (LOL), and brush back any stray hairs, etc... and I noticed that when I took the plastic cover off of Anna there was a strange chemical smell...does anyone else's doll smell strange? Perhaps it was one of the fabrics they used or something? I feel like I have to let her "air out" for a few days before I put the cover back on LOL.

Somewhat related...I redeemed Disney Movie Rewards points once for a Snow White apron, and when I opened it the apron had the most intense, disgusting chemical smell I have ever experienced in my life. I literally felt like I got cancer just from smelling the apron it was so bad. So maybe whatever factory in China Disney uses to make their products they use a really intense chemical? I don't know...just wondering if anyone else's Anna smells "off" LOL.

I also noticed that instead of just putting tissue paper on the top of the shipping box, this time they covered the entire doll in tissue paper...that was a nice touch.

All of the LE 17" Frozen dolls are truly beautiful and it is difficult to choose which one I like the best...but if I was forced to choose this moment I would rank them...

1. Coronation Anna- I just love her green dress...it is gorgeous! My eye always goes to her first.
2. Snow Queen Elsa- Her iconic look...really well executed even down to the shoes...she really is beautiful.
3. Coronation Elsa- Love her purple velvet cape and her crystal-embellished "conceal don't feel" gloves. She has a reserved-yet-beautiful disposition on her face. I also love her sweeping bangs and tiara.
4. Snow Gear Anna- It was hard to rank her last (because I really do love all of them). She does have some beautiful features like the pom poms on her cape, fur-lined hat, and true-to-movie boots. The only thing that irks me about her is how her braids stick out straight and how thick they are...but that is just being nit-picky. :)

Guys I think you guys have a misconceived perception of what these links actually are. They are not early links or magical links. They are just direct links to the pages. So instead of having to search for the item you have a link to the website that takes you directly to the item.

It is just a quicker way of finding the item you are looking for rather than waiting for the page to refresh. The page is not even available until the actual release time of the items so the only difference is the time it takes to find the item really. In this instance the issue was just amplified due to the time differences resulting in a whole hour difference between when the items are available and when the site refreshed compared to the usual difference in minutes.

So there is nothing Disney can actually do as this was a once off event as a result of daylight savings, so it really should not happen again. This would not have been such an issue but because of the hype with Frozen it just made things worse.

The fact that people are bringing up legality in it all does not make sense because at the day the dolls were available for sale and people bought them from the system paying money for it just like a normal transaction so the purchases are actually legitimate purchases so cancelling them would actually be a counterproductive move by Disney.

@Polaris: *lol* actually I know what a link is :naughty: ... *joke*
You probably didn´t read the shitstorme on the german FB page, it was aweful, people got totally crazy, malicious and mean and I would appreciate to NOT see those people here as well...
I think the point what bothers the most is, that the dolls could not be found without these links, not through search nor through clicking on the pictures. And when the dolls finally appeared officially on the side at 9am (Germany), they already were sold out. Of course they sold out within the hour they were already online but many people didn´t know about this, so they didn´t have any chance to get them. I for one was surfing through different doll forums while waiting for the dolls to appear on the site and was lucky enough to see the information that the dolls already are online, so I could get them. But I feel very sorry for all the people who didn´t know about it and I understand that they are sad and even angry. But I don´t understand the hate and malevolance against people who were able to get a doll and against the nice girl who tried to inform as many people as possible through the forums.

Thank you Polaris for clarifying that, I always wonder what was the magic
I check the forum almost daily but very seldom make comments. Last year I was able to get LE Snow Queen Elsa and the two sister vinylmation set thanks to all the wonderful members of this forum that put the links on the site, but I have a very bad experience with LE Coronation Anna so I ask for a day off at my work and on Jan 30 went direct to the Disney store and order my dolls in person
today I pick them up in the evening and saved myself some aggravation.
I can't even imagine the mess that is going to be when/if they release Sleeping Beauty and Maleficent LE dolls

My SG Anna arrived earlier today! I am so in love... <3

Hope it's okay to share a photo!

I really hope that the Aurora and Maleficent release isn't as crazy as the Frozen ones have been. I'm worried...

I received my Anna today, too. Love her velvet skirt and the lining on her cape and all the wonderful details on her. Elsa comes tomorrow.

Well after the disappointment of the Frozen dolls I think I'll focus on the next release which I hope will be Sleeping Beauty, I'd really love to get a Maleficent doll if that happens. ^^ As much as I love Frozen I don't think I'll be paying the prices for them on Ebay but I'm happy for all the genuine collectors that managed to get the girls and I'm sorry for those who didn't (I know how you feel OTL).

I also think this bashing/mobbing of the german girl is not ok. She only shared the link, she didn't pilfer it from anyone or anything! It was unwell circumstances that this link wasn't shared with more collectors and other people who only liked the movie – but what happened, happened, the STORE is in the end the guilty one for allowing it to happen in the first place. People on FB are loosing the focus on that.
I didn't get my Anna as I only knew about this forum and not any german ones, I was very sad yesterday (and also jealous of the people who managed to get dolls through the links, as I didn't know about the link). But let's be real, anyone who had the link used it and anyone who could have had it, WOULD have used it (I for sure would have!). So in the end it was DS who messed up, not any collectors and not anyone who shared the link in order to help.

On the other side, as ebay is my only chance now to get Anna, can you ladies give me advice?
When should I try to buy Anna? As soon as possible or should I wait a week or two? I don't know if prices right now are high, because of the immediate hype or if they will get higher as more people realize ebay is their only chance?
Tia :)

I've been trying to ignore all of the anger and finger pointing that I see on here and elsewhere. I wish people would remember that these are just dolls at the end of the day. All collectors have had things they couldn't get fast enough or that were sold before they started. Many of us have paid higher prices to get our grail dolls and pins. I don't see how attacking other collectors helps out anyone. These dolls are amazing and I am very happy for those who did get them. For those who didn't, I hope you are able to land a good deal on Ebay or elsewhere. Can you guys please remember that there are young people on here and they don't need to be reading the foul and hostile language that some are using. I've been coming to this forum for well over 2 years and have never seen it this bad. This should be a safe place for people to share ideas, knowledge, photos, and friendship.

ilia89 - I would normally suggest waiting a couple of months for things to die down before getting a doll on Ebay. The problem is that Frozen is a whole new deal so it's hard to say. The November dolls were selling for little above retail all of December and are now out of control in their pricing. I say proceed patiently and decide what you are able to spend ahead of time. There is typically a flood of dolls at the time of the release where prices drop a bit, followed by a rise.

It's horrible what this release has brought. I haven't read the German page but I've read about it. I also read on the LE Limited Dolls page on Facebook and they're just attacking almost every person that's posting photos of their newly arrived dolls, saying "it's too early" and "you're just boasting and you're a scalper". That's too far, man. I can understand people are frustrated about this release, and at Disney, but just because you couldn't order what you want doesn't mean you have to attack the people that actually did order it. It's just awful.

There's this one person that kept going on about quitting the hobby and selling everything and making a drama, and minutes later she's making a post about that she wants to buy the dolls from someone. It's probably in the heat of the moment but I never understand people who say things like that. You're a collector, of course you're not going to be able to buy everything at a release. I know it's a letdown. I haven't had this with LE dolls, these are my first to order, but I have had many shares of disappointment when it comes to pin and figurine releases. Doesn't mean I'll quit the hobby, simply because I love collecting. I'll probably be frustrated for a couple of hours but I will set my mind on finding that item in the next days! :D

@ilia89: I'd say wait a week and see what the price is and then consider buying one from the lowest seller. I've noticed all LE dolls are quite popular and Frozen is more popular. I mean, look at the release! And I think Anna will be popular too because she fits with SQ Elsa's outfit too. I think many people think she's the prettiest out of the two, I can't choose lol. I do love her little mittens!
