Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information

No worries dear, you're fine Thankfully I managed to only have to get one on eBay and two off Craig's List, and with the help of friends and family I actually paid less than retail for my whole set (birthday is in November so I got lucky with some early bday cash). That's one reason why no matter how amazing the DFDC dolls are I will always cherish my DPDC more just because the hell I went through to get the whole set.

The idea of a designer Elsa is a very, very scary one.
 
I think I'll have to wait for my dolls longer than I hoped. I ordered them to my bf's address because it would be faster but I forgot he leaves country on Sunday to come here (he works abroad). So if those dolls don't reach him by Saturday I have to wait until Monday in two weeks for him to travel back and then ship them to me. Argh, should've taken express delivery but I didn't even see the option because I was too fast lol.

Anyone see the MAC previews for Maleficent's collection? I think this is the start of company's releasing some Maleficent juice! Can't wait to see the doll if they release one.
 

wonderful Im glad to hear you got the ones you wanted. yes designer elsa makes me honestly nervous. For each designer release the villains through tinkerbell and the les cinderella through march frozen have been no issue for me at all. Just some crowds but I am lucky to get all mine straight from the store. there was only one instance with the couples belle and ariel i had to turn to online and got them no issue thank god.
 

Thankfully two of the power couples are out of the way for the next DFDC set (Ariel and Rapunzel). With the remaining 5 I don't see there being much of an issue since the only one who's even a little popular out of them is Cinderella. I can't wait to see how Aurora will look.

Just saying DFDC Hans with another Hans totally makes sense.
 

Lol I would so buy the hans on hans! If anything I think tiana and maybe mulan would be very poular as merch of them is fairly scarce.

And this actually makes sense! The Snow outfits are one edition size and the coronation are one too.

The rosemaling on these covers are really something. Especially on the inside on the plastic. It's breathtaking! I'm glad that it's been what, 5 years, and disney has kept this collection uniform. Which must be hard since they barely could keep anything uniform!

I'm interested in seeing if the line is going to end in 2016 when the new edition of Snow White comes out.

A 13,000 edition size would suffice, I think.
Released at different release dates to ensure that people have a chance.
Limit to one per household like UK.
Double check if people ordered online so that they can't buy them in store.

So many possibilities with so many disadvantages.
I wonder if these will become like Mondo posters.
 

Indeed! I an very curious as to what it means for the line when its snow whites time again.The evil queen will complete my life! the prince too however thats super unlikely, he gets no love. Id like to have all the princes and villains in this line.

I too very much hope for all the villains and princes in the 17" line- especially male villains! I'm devastated that we have not got a LE Evil Queen, but I know Snow was first, and I believe she took ages to sell- a bit of a test run. I just hope she's as gorgeous as the Snow White. I hope this line never ends haha, there's so many characters to doll-i-fy! Haha.
 
I agree, I hope it will have a large edition size.
 
About raising the ed on a future Designer Elsa: I look at it from the position that very few people were able to get the extraordinarily limited Snow Queen or even Coronation Elsa. (I have all four dolls and know how lucky I am.) Throw people a bone, and up the ed size on a future Designer Elsa. People will buy it. This is not like the Villains. She will not go on clearance. It will be a win win for Disney. Make the Frozen fans happy to finally get a beautiful LE doll and make Disney lots of money.

I think I'm in the minority here but I just love and prefer the two winter themed dolls so much more than the coronation dolls! Does any one else feel the same? Although I do love all four!

They two winter girls are starting to grow on me. I'd much prefer Snow Queen Elsa over Coronation Elsa, and I can't tell which one I like more, Coronation Anna or Snow Gear Anna.. I'm trying to collect the two in their coronation outfits but this is proving to be very difficult.

Though, Snow Anna is definitely starting to peak my interest
 
WHY did the EU get screwed so badly this time? I'm in disbeleif. I sat on the websit for an hour and then went to the disney store. I was 4 people away from getting a doll. would have been happy with anna but I wanted Elsa so bad. I nearly fell over waiting in line with a flu and nearly threw up on the subway, and for what? They went up on the website and were already sold out.

We had no preorder and not enough dolls and paying 300 for one after market is out of the question.

I am just gutted. And it's hurtful that we have no chance at a preorder here. The movie performed really well in France, There is an equal EU population to the US but we get a small percentage of the dolls and NO chance to buy them/ I've still got the flu but I had to say something. I've waited months on this release. I was there on time for the web release and then ran to the store. This is just a cruel joke.

yes! there are so many possibilites! My ultimate I can die happy wish list to see in the le line are the evil queen, flynn rider, hans, cruella, peter pan, and prince phillip.
 


I believe they were punishing the EU for making a fuss last time over the price increase (from £60 to £80) the larger LE size should have meant larger allocation. They probably lost money on importing, refunding, and giving out vouchers last time. They knew this time around the previous customers from the Nov release would all want to use their vouchers and they would lose even more money (those expire in June by the way I think) Annd basically it's just some kind of pay-back because customers complained last time. Magical Disney.

Also, Sleeping Beauty is going to be back up to £80 again because I just know she will be. And the allocation and availability will be larger....the price increase will not be met with much argument next time, because people will be *grateful* to even have ACCESS.
Very clever and deliberate move by Disney.
People will be so overjoyed by the availability that they wont complain when the prices get hiked

Guys please avoid bringing that up again because people were already moving on from it. I explained what happened about two or three pages ago if you would like to read that first. It was just an unfortunate release that was the result of the different time zones and had nothing to do with Disney punishing anyone.
 
I agree with Polaris, I had waited for months was so excited and then very disappointed( even cried lol). But it's in the past and their is nothing anyone can do now so it's best to just move on and look forward to future releases! I think it was just a one off bad situation that won't happen again
 
I hope they just go to 5000 all the time and increase if it's a super popular character like they did for Ariel. But don't just give Europe 500 that was the problem not the edition size.
I hope they increase the edition size for Maleficent as all the Villians got 2000 and under and Maleficent is far more popular than other villains
