Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
I'm just happy I have the November dolls really. Elsa I got at cost and Anna about £20 above. I couldn't afford the prices now, nor will I pay that amount for the recent release.

I believe they were punishing the EU for making a fuss last time over the price increase (from £60 to £80) the larger LE size should have meant larger allocation. They probably lost money on importing, refunding, and giving out vouchers last time. They knew this time around the previous customers from the Nov release would all want to use their vouchers and they would lose even more money (those expire in June by the way I think) Annd basically it's just some kind of pay-back because customers complained last time. Magical Disney.

Also, Sleeping Beauty is going to be back up to £80 again because I just know she will be. And the allocation and availability will be larger....the price increase will not be met with much argument next time, because people will be *grateful* to even have ACCESS.
Very clever and deliberate move by Disney.
People will be so overjoyed by the availability that they wont complain when the prices get hiked

How do you know they will be £80 for Sleeping Beauty? I'm just curious.

I really don't think Disney were punishing anyone... as always, just technical hitches and whatnot, Polaris explained it quite well :)

In other news, I think it'll go up to £80 too... since the first Frozen pair release I think it's been on the cards... I just hope the detail on the dolls stays the same- worthy of the £80 price tag :) All of the Frozen dolls are far superior to the other 17 inch releases from 2013... Ariel was quite minimal (not just because elf the nature of her outfit)- Ursula and Eric felt underdone to me, too! I can't wait to see what the future brings for these dolls! :)

Site going down was definitely a glitch. Ahh, I can't believe it's still only been about 60 hours since it happened I still feel disappointed and haven't really had a chance to talk with anyone; so it's great to have this dedicated forum to discuss this dedicated topic.

Because I think the low stock (only 500 for EU) was preparation for the next price increase to be met with less argument - as long as the stock is more available next time (a higher number for EU), people will be happier even if they are paying more. Sorry if I wasn't clear

Tbh they are worth £80, I think it's fair and compared with eBay prices £80 is still a bargain lol. Obviously cheaper is better for us but I wouldn't have a problem with a slight price increase as long as they make sure everyone gets a better chance of getting one:)

Hey guys wanted some advise, after what happened in the UK many of us from Europe have been buying the dolls from the US. Anyway I was on eBay looking at recently sold Anna's kind of to see how much they are going for and I noticed 7 Anna's sold today with exact same picture! I read the description and it says the photo is of their own personal doll and the doll you will receive is in it's shipper box. Now at first I thought something's not right here but on looking they have been on eBay a long long time and have 100% feedback and obviously what could go wrong if all payments through PayPal. I just didn't know in the US it was possible to have that many!

Yes it is possible, in the US you can just go back an order more dolls if you want. Unlike the UK the US does not cancel multiple orders. They just do not allow more than one of the same doll to be purchased in the same order. Unfortunately this happens a lot in the US wherein people will order a multitude of dolls and then resell them. I believe there was one that had 11 of each doll at some point?

Ultimately, like it has been brought up many times online I was incredibly disappointed that I unfortunately did not get the dolls. But hey I'm pretty cool with it. I can't wait for more products to come out. Me and my friend simply were weren't lucky this time. I think this time the mountain to get the dolls was just a mightier climb to climb. When we went down to the store around 5am but alas the dolls had already gone. Despite the shop not being open there was a sign outside stating the dolls had already sold out because tickets had been handed out to customers (there was no queue outside and we had no idea that's how they'd organize it). Its a little shame the site wasn't working here in the UK either but you know...in my opinion... some where some one did manage to get through on the site and they've got the sisters on their shelves..which is awesome. So, I didnt manage to have them on my shelf...no biggie! Next time maybe i will. Onwards and upwards.

Guys please avoid bringing that up again because people were already moving on from it. I explained what happened about two or three pages ago if you would like to read that first. It was just an unfortunate release that was the result of the different time zones and had nothing to do with Disney punishing anyone.
I know, seriously. This doesn't need to be rehashed over and over again.

I have questions about the display cases/boxes!
I've read things like "if you still have the box around" and most recently people wanting to buy the dolls without boxes, so..
People who debox the dolls, do they throw out the display box?? I would imagine a collector deboxing the dolls, never going to sell them, still keeping the box..?
I have deboxed my Rapunzel but I still store her in the box, I've attached her just as she was before deboxing. (Even the strings that hold her dress) I don't mind taking her out but putting her back like she was is so bothersome haha :D I consider the box great part of the doll so I didn't even think someone would get rid of them!

Another question is, how much does damage on the box affect the resell price? If I was going to buy some earlier dolls on ebay, should I expect to pay less than I would for a perfect box?
Then again I don't know if I want damaged box :p

Bf got a text from Hermes with a tracking number! That means he might get the dolls before Sunday and he can bring them to me Wednesday! Can't wait!

Depends on general demand and age. Always ask about any damage, discolouring, scratches, dents etc. I guess in these cases the value isn't hurt a massive amount since there's not a lot of some Princesses on sale anyway. Unboxing something always hurts potential value though if an unopened version is available. It's eBay though. One person might be willing to splash huge amounts, but that doesn't really speak for the rest.

I received my Elsa, Thursday morning. She's sooooo beautiful!! <3
The detail of everything is just... wow. Perfection!
So happy with her. I still wish I had been able to get the November version, but its Ok. I'm glad to have this one.

Now, bring on everything sleeping beauty! :D <3

I just hope any SB release in the fall isnt as crazy as this Frozen one was. I think the huge popularity of Frozen has brought in new collectors etc. The hype has just been pure madness.

Aurora and Phillip won't be as crazy because people generally don't care about them.
Maleficent is gonna be nuts!

I think this release was crazy mainly because it is FROZEN. and scalpers are up there to buy everything and resell. But as we've seen with Cinderella, people generally don't pay that high of a price for them. So it makes sense that Aurora won't be that high up too.
I'm personally excited for all the merch and kinda pissed off because of what Disney is doing.
They released Maleficent the same year, so that's going to eclipse the great classic.
They delayed the 3D blu-ray release of Frozen because they wanted to sell the future 3D releases of Incredibles and ratatouille. And also because They didn't think that Sleeping Beauty was gonna sell well.

So expect most Sleeping Beauty merchandise to be terrible. With barely anything that is worth getting. I hope that they do an Art of Aurora line.
It's kinda sad cause the animation of Sleeping Beauty is breathtaking and I was kinda hoping they'd do something to honor that.
But you never know.. I can see that they've already started with Aurora, She replaced Ariel/Cinderella on the "princess" button. :)

do you think the price of the second dolls from frozen will go down in the second market ?

Maybe a little! I mean, Snow Queen Elsa sells for better prices atm, but you shouldn't expect a big price difference. Maybe like 50$ less or somethng...

I think the frozen insanity will eventually die down, not only that but the scalpers have the market completely flooded. I think they think every doll is going to hit the thousand dollar mark and beyond but that's just not and wont ever be the case. its frustrating to me to see this knowing all the people whose only chance is the secondary market because sellers buy the dolls at 100 and want to sell them for a grand the next day. But at least It looks like sq elsa is going down in price.

I agree the way they treat the classics upon releases is disappointing. I think they just want whatevers new to be the trend and keep going from new trend to next and next, (tangled now frozen) and then classics they dont give it the attention it needs to grow and garner the popularity that it could have. more people would be interested in sleeping beauty ect. if they would market but they simply dont want to spend resources on that it seems. its too bad my top two faves of all time are snow white and sleeping beauty. And im very main six when it comes to the princess in general.
