Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
You have to wait until next year or after, it isn't her time yet!

I made a quick outline of how she could look
Mulan with straight short hair, wearing a blossom in it, costume inspired by the end of the film wearing the Emperors crest, with Shan Yu & her father's sword, plus a golden fan somewhere.
Mulan should be shown as the Hero of China. If she's in that worn out pink Geisha costume I will not be getting her.

+1 I really, really want this outfit. I mean I will buy her no matter what, if she is real, but I think this outfit embodies the whole film. The fan for the matchmaking hilarity, the medal for honor, the sword and flower for her father, and the outfit showing that she is a warrior.
If she is in the redesign outfit though, I'm okay with it. It looks kind of like how she looks in the beginning of the film, but I don't think its possible. They just "fixed" the design from gold to those colors but a few weeks ago. If there is a Mulan doll she has been designed and probably made a while back.

I had in mind the Golden fan used against Shan Yu opposed to the fan she doesn't know who to use (with holes - setting Matchmaker alight )
It has a stronger symbolism.

I was told last year Jasmine was next, so it would be odd if she doesn't appear this year.
Even more so as Jasmine is Sephora's current Princess.

It's not a "geisha costume " it's mulans wedding hanfu. She's not even Japanese. What if, just what if mulan and jasmine both come out this year but at different times.... Gasp. And why should mulan be the only doll in a "new" dress? If cinderella had been in some new made up dress people would have fits !! Stay true to the movie. Be it if its her hanfu or armor.

I am so happy someone else realises it isn't a geisha outfit LOL... I also hope they stay true to the movie... personally I would love her in anything at all, I just hope we get her at some point- doesn't matter when, I don't mind waiting! ;) As for Jasmine, she is my main girl and I really hope we get her at some point, too- nobody knows for sure! But I think that if Aladdin was scheduled for release this year until very recently in the US (it's still coming out soon in the UK), they would have already made a doll for her... who knows if they'll hold it back until Aladdin does come out or until there's a gap in the doll calendar? Not me! But I'm hoping, nevertheless ^_^ <3

First, who knows if Disney even thinks that a LE Mulan doll is warranted at this time? They did pass up a LE Pocahontas doll with her US Blu-ray debut last year, so it will be interesting to see if they do the same for Mulan.

Assuming one will be made at some point: Mulan wore a lot of outfits in her film, so the possibilities are very open (unfortunately) for what they might give to a potential future LE Mulan doll. As we all know, the most-marketed outfit is the one she wore when seeing the matchmaker, which is not a terrible outfit and the most "glam" of all of her outfits in the film, but for me, it all depends on how they style her with that outfit. If they give her the fancy updo (and that pale white makeup), it would be a flat-out "no." If she has more natural makeup and her hair down (with the flower that her father puts in her hair--not the ponytail that they have been giving her), I would be fine with that. The green-top "at home" outfit is consistent with her most recent "new look" variation and is a likely candidate with a nice range of colors. The outfit she wears at the end of the film (and defeats Shan Yu in) is also nice, but it is a bit dark-toned for a Disney Animation Studios Disney Princess (main colors: navy blue, dark teal, and dark red), plus if they were going to be consistent with that look in the film, she should have short hair. So far, only the first LE Merida has been dressed in an outfit with such predominantly dark tones. Mulan's Ping outfit and her army armor are most unlikely as they are not "girly" or glamorous enough, but it would be a cool sight to see her all decked out for war! In any case, she has a variety of opportunities for accessories, which is nice: two choices of folding fans, Cri-Kee in his wooden cage, Fa Zhou's sword, the emperor's medallion, Shan Yu's sword...

One thing is for certain: if they do release a LE Mulan and they dress her in anything but the outfit she wears to see the matchmaker, that would pretty much seal the deal that any potential future LE Aurora doll would be most likely dressed in pink. Aurora has now been heavily marketed in her pink gown for some time now, of course, but with none of the LE dolls wearing pink as her primary color so far, that suggests for Disney marketing, Aurora is indeed the "pink princess."

 I know it isn't a geisha costume :p for the life of me I couldn't remember the name of it, I have complete brain fog and her outfit was referred to it as that elsewhere on the forum
Yesterday I couldn't even remember Boris Johnson's surname after seeing him on a tube poster

 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

She'll always be the blue princess to me

What if Ariel is in pink?

why can't they give Aurora more stuff as Briar Rose? I love her ballgown, but not in pink and it's grossly overused. If there were to be a pink Aurora LE, I'd want to see her gown in a different design, in a lighter/softer shade of pink and more well done than the terrible Designer gown they gave her. Over that I'd take an intricate version of Rose. Or- this is crazy- but wouldn't it be great if they divided the edition between pink and blue? Or had a smaller edition size of the blue? But I hope hope hope that for this ONCE her doll will actually wear blue. still have time yet, I suppose!

Oh yeah, I forgot about Ariel in pink! :p That is still a possibility, especially since her 17" singing doll is dressed in pink. In any case, I think Disney is still obsessed with Aurora in pink for a variety of reasons: 1) her name is Aurora, which tends to conjure images of shades of pink; 2) she's mainly been exclusively marketed in pink for well over a decade now in the parks and non-parks merchandise; and 3) since they like putting Cinderella in blue (and not silver/white), I don't think that they want another blonde princess in blue (just for group color contrast). I agree that I would love to see Aurora in more than just pink, but the LE dolls gravitate toward the more standardized color choices found in mass-marketing (with Ariel as the wild card, since she is a mermaid and never has had only one specific gown assigned to her). But who knows? Maybe they will surprise us...

I really think that any Ariel (in a dress) doll will be in the green dress that the parks created. It's become so prevalent and accepted that the design has made its way in to the official imagery. I'll be more surprised if they make a doll of her in the pink dress or wedding dress. Technically, they could pull the same thing with Aurora. I've seen her in her pink dress and sometimes in blue...but I've also seen her in parades wearing a purple dress. I felt it was considerably blasphemous. Technically they could put the doll in a fabric that is pink from one angle, blue from the next...but purple head on. It would be a really pretty effect if done correctly...but I think it would most likely be a flop. I prefer her in blue, especially since she is in blue for the majority of the movie and it's my favorite color, but I do believe that they'll put her in pink.

GAME CHANGER

They also...however...could pull a brand new stunt. You buy one...but don't find out the color of the dress until you remove the cover. You could either get pink or blue. Talk about the angry emails and outcries they would receive.

Her dvd/blu-ray is being released this year, so I don't understand how it 'isn't her time yet?' If we are ever going to get a seventeen inch Mulan, it will probably be now or never.

I don't think Jasmine is going to happen this year, because her dvd/blu-ray has been delayed until 2014 (so I imagine the doll has been as well). I've no doubt we'll be seeing one at that time though.

Like Mulan, Ariel has a lot of clothing/form options: mermaid, pink dinner gown, blue/black town outfit, sparkly blue sea gown, white wedding gown, aqua parks gown (which is an aqua-colored, short-sleeved version of her wedding gown), and the makeshift-sail gown. I agree that an aqua/blue-green gown similar to her Parks gown would be the most likely choice (if she is not in her mermaid form), especially since that would make her hair color really pop (like with the Designer Ariel doll). My dream gown for her would be her sparkly blue sea gown from King Triton, but for a LE doll, that may be too simple in design. If they make a good rendition of her pink dinner gown, I would not be upset, but red hair with a pink gown looks just a bit too Strawberry Shortcake.

Going back to Aurora, I actually like your ideas of the color shifting fabric (if done correctly) and even the "mystery color" method of distribution (though that would definitely cause a mini-revolution from the buyers, and the sharks would have a field day with that if one color were more rare than the other). I actually have to say that I really do like Aurora in pink (but I also like her in all of her clothes--even most of the non-canon Disney children's picture book outfits she has worn!). One thing I always remembered thinking when I was a kid (and still do) is that in the film when she wears her gown in blue, she's for the most part sad, and the shades of blue on her reflect that mood. Of course, she also looks incredibly radiant in her blue gown when Prince Philip awakens her and also in the following scene when she reunites with her parents, but that is also when Flora realizes that the gown is in blue and the fairy color battle starts up again. I just want them to make a LE Aurora doll. :) Sure, it won't be for a couple years at least, but hopefully in that time, they realize that her iconic bangs should be returned! Personally, her hair is a much bigger concern for me than the color of her gown.

The comment was made in reference to the Pocahontas blu-ray release last year. They released the blu-ray but there was no doll release with it. So several people on the forum believe that this will be the same fate for Mulan. It's difficult because we try looking for a pattern to anticipate doll releases but really Disney has changed it up so much that who knows, they could release a Mulan doll even though they didn't with Pocahontas. Everyone thought that Peter Pan was going to have a doll release as that was a diamond edition release but that never happened so I guess until we hear from Disney we will not have anything in concrete yet in terms of doll releases and everything will just be based on speculation.

Ahh that's what it's called!! Thank you!!! I have been wondering what it was case I knew it wasn't geisha

I highly doubt we're going to see the dolls in anything but a glamorous signature look. There's no way Disney would release Aurora as Briar Rose, or Ariel in the blue around town outfit, just like they wouldn't release Cinderella in her maid outfit, or Snow White in hers. They don't want the dolls to be looked at and someone to go 'who is that' or 'when did she wear that in the movie', even if it's a slight variation like Alice's dress, it was still very recognisable. Mulan will be in the wedding outfit, Ariel probably as a mermaid or the pink gown she's well recognised in, Aurora in the probably pink ball gown (though blue is a possibility), Jasmine in her signature two piece, just like Tiana was in the well known wedding, swamp green gown (not the pretty one in the church), Cinderella was in her blue (albeit not silver) gown (notp the mice made pink one), Snow White in her usual gown (admittedly, not a lot of choice there).. So yep, that's my opinion haha.

I think it would be really badass if they released Mulan in her warrior outfit but they never would. I think it would be cool if they released 2 Mulan's, one like the regular 5,000 limited edition in her wedding gown and a lesser edition like 500 in her warrior outfit. I doubt they would but I think it would be cool. I really think Ariel will be in green or a blue-ish-green color. Jasmine will probably be in her turquoise outfit or maybe her fuchsia outfit that she wore at the end. Aurora will be in pink, I hope they do her justice she is, imo tied with Pocahontas, the most beautiful princess. I like the idea of her dress being half and half. Or even doing half the dolls in blue and the other half pink would be nice.

Hopefully we find out something soon! It's crazy how we had so many dolls come at the end of last year and here we are going into March knowing nothing!

I was told yesterday by a CM that the next LE Princess doll will be Ariel, with the Diamond Edition release of TLM on October 1, 2013, with pre-order in August. There are no plans for a boxed set of Ariel and her sisters as posable 12'' dolls; but there will be plush dolls of her sisters. There will be no LE doll for the Wreck-It Ralph release next week, on March 5. As usual, take this info from a CM with a grain of salt. And Disney could still pull out surprise LE doll releases, without telling their CMs ahead of time.

Well on the upside, we will have time to recoup financially before the excitement hits again! LOL.... I was really excited thinking we'd get at least one princess this year :( but seeing as I just bought Snow White and blonde Rapunzel back to back, I think I need to chill ;)

Well at least Ariel has kinda been confirmed. Though i think i remember a post a few pages back with Disney saying multiple le dolls, so maybe Ariel is all they're willing to tell their CMs about yet. I'm still hoping for multiple, i started late so i only have two- i need more, more, more!! Haha

I know this could just mean the China girl, and the 12" dolls....but I will keep my fingers crossed and stay up late next week, just in case :)

I read that too a while ago and thought the exact same thing as you :) I think i'm gonna be on the edge of my seat from 8th March :D

So I don't know if it is old or new news, but some cast member has apparently confirmed that the "next" LE Princess will be Ariel. She'll have a release date "speculated" for October 1 and will be available for pre-orders in August. No word on if she's human, mermaid, or double release...or...more importantly...if any version of Ursula/Vanessa will be released. ;)
