DSF/DSSH LIVE From DSF...
This is not the main goal. The main goal is for the lineup of 150 people in the alley to not be during business hours because it interferes with the theater operations as well as the operations of the other businesses around.
DSF is a business and selling pins is only part of that business and I think pin traders forget that in their haste. The overnight lines and now the 24 hour lines, that could turn into 48 hour lines as people's insanity increases is not good business for DSF, if something goes wrong they will be held responsible and I don't think that they want the attention of a law suit, nor do they want to start collecting fines for illegal use of that alley space. That alley is not zoned for everyone to hang out in let alone sleep in and I understand DSF wanting to find alternative solutions that will benefit their business.
They also gave out directions on who and when they wanted people showing up and still people disregarded those so of course it wasn't a successful event. Some people are just so desperate to get their pins that they don't think about how their actions affect others. I think we could all show DSF some respect, considering how much they put themselves out for all of us and just better follow how they would like these events to run.
Someone mentioned that if we keep up the shenanigans that they might stop producing pins and someone countered that they would never do that, Disney has done that, there are no more Disney Shopping pins (the occasional one here and there does not even compare to what we used to get). And they don't have to stop making pins to fix the problem, but they could do away with the DSF pins and only sell pins at the parks, just more of them to compensate or maybe start selling more pins at cast exclusive places like WDI in an order to prevent these chaotic events. DSF was not designed to handle a couple hundred people hanging out, the parks were. I just think everyone needs to show a little more respect for DSF's policies instead of thinking about themselves.

That is how the Cubs did it for ticket sales. I don't know if they still do, but they did it in the past. A couple of days before the sale you could go down and get a wrist band which you weren't allowed to remove until the ticket purchase. Then, at like 6 a.m. the day of they would announce on the radio what number they would be starting at and if you were close that was your queue to get down there.
Doesn't help anyone that does live near DSF though. Our bloody carcasses will still be pecked at.
DSF should do a variation of this. Tell people that numbered wristbands will be given out from a certain time (7pm-9pm). After 9:00 take note of how many wristbands are given out, so people will know how many people got wristbands (for this scenario we will say 567 wristbands are given out). Then draw a number, for example 109. Then #109 is the beginning of the line and the line goes in numeric order. After #567 it goes back to #1. Then everyone goes home and comes back to line up in the morning. If you are #108 you would probably choose not to go back because you know how many people will get the opportunity to purchase before you do. Anybody who chooses to line up in the "standby" line will have to wait until all numbers have either been redeemed or a certain time (say 10:00am). But they will be told by staff potentially how many people are ahead of them in line.
This way there is no inherent advantage to show up early and wander the streets or start an "unofficial" line.

Don't people just show up early to get the wristbands?
They didn't ask people to leave and come back at 6am. They set up canopies for the camp out and when people asked... " Does this mean we can go home?" they didn't give a straight yes.
Another question everyone. Since DSF asked everyone to leave and come back at 6AM, why did 80% of the people stay? It looks as though DSF really wanted everyone to go home and not keep a line all night. Wouldn't it have made more sense to do as they asked? If we continue to not listen to them they may not continue to be as gracious as they have been during these pin releases.
Battleship was fun!!!
I wish they would just do an online RSP. It is so easy.
They really do spoil us! Out of anywhere that we buy pins - I really do always feel appreciated at DSF by the little extra things they do for us! :0)
