find out judy,!!! this smells of a scam!!?? maybe its me being super paranoid, but i wouldnt send money to anyone in a foreign country for a pig in a poke?? If all they have is your email, and a package is being sent, shouldnt they have your addy too? How many packages have you shipped across the pond that includes the email of the recipient? smelling more like a pig in a poke, call the lady mrs hobbs, ask some hard questions, they opened it, whats inside? if its not something you ordered or something someone confirms sending to you, you could just be mailing your cash away, if that is what makes you happy, please reference my old address and go estatic!!
just a friendly word of caution!! please be carefull
Hi Darryl
I emailed it..I tried calling and there was NO such number
I am going to the PO today..I am going to see if they would know
YES theres something fishy going on...it went to several ppl too,but I cannot see
their emails as they are private
Heres what they want in US money(172.55 )I DO NOT THINK SO
I have trades from UK and Japan....and I think thats not it
That's crazy. Also, If it was sent via UPS, and UPS are emailing you, why is the officer email not a @UPS.com or similar email ending? If you still have the email, I'd forward it to UPS as I'm sure they'd like to know about it...
I just chatted with UPS and they said this is definetly as we all know and suspected a SCAM...its been going on for over a year and they are trying to find the source
She told me to print the email and hold onto it..Judy
Whats amazing is how curious some people are and just send the money.
Out of every 100 people they send this to, even if 1 responds with payment they get rich.
Send to 1,000,000 people .....well, just think.
Smells like Nigeria...lol
I have millions I need transfered but need your banking info and SS number.......
Glad you didn't fall for that. If you'd had to pay any import customs it would've been to your own government, not someone in Spain! Lol. Where do these people come up with this rubbish?!
Do you guys in the US ever have to pay any import fees or anything? I've often wondered. We don't pay customs/VAT between EU countries, but anything outside the EU coming in to us, if it's over the ridiculously small limit (£18 - it hs been kept at this limit for many years, which is pathetic given inflation) we have to pay VAT.
There is also a scam going around where you get a message from "UPS" or "Fedex" or something similar. The first time I got one I was worried for a second until I realized the message came to my work e-mail which I never use when trading/buying pins. These messages usually have an attachment you should never ever open! Courier services NEVER send you such an e-mail!
Well, after the recent UK pin fiasco I wouldn't be surprised if it was Disney sending these scam messages to make an extra buck. Am I the only one to remember the times when Disney used to stand for quality and customer satisfaction?

Also, they include the shipping costs in the value of the shipment here in Finland and count customs + VAT for the total figure. I'm sure that can't be legal, but what is a single person to do against the government?
Yep, same here. I can't remember the actual customs limit here (it was increased recently to well over £100 I believe), but it's the VAT limit that is the killer at £18. If the value of the goods is over £18 they charge VAT (20% here) on the total cost of the item and delivery. If the item is expensive enough to get a customs charge (usually around 3.5%), then this customs charge is added to the delivery cost and item cost, adn then you get the 20% VAT charged on it! It really is scandalous. I don't know about your import limits in Finland, but our VAT limit of £18 has been at this amount for many many years. Surely by now someone should have increased it to take account of inflation!
