[TD="colspan: 2"] Presenting the next series of the "Piece of Disney Movies" collection. Each month highlights a classic Disney movie and features a frame from the film. The January pin features Disney-Pixar Toy Story and includes Buzz Lightyear and Woody. Note: Because the frames are cut from a film print, each pin will be slightly unique. The above image does not include a film frame. For an example of how these pins appear please click here to view a complete pin.

Could the price increase be a mistake that will adjust when actually released? I do not know if I want to keep this line going for $5 more per pin

Don't think its an error. Disney thinks that everyone will continue to pay it. If they are right its an extra $120,000 for them over the year.

Well i personal HATE the pin increase in price... but im already invested in the fist 11 so even if the pin was $30 a pin i would still buy my scene for the collection : /

And if this series sells out as fast as the first one did, then I think you will see $30 a pin for a 3rd.

Don't give them again ideas! Don't justify their thinking...
Alas, I think they're onto it already... :p

That is a pretty big price hike, however. And if they are upping the price so much, they darned well better not have any *crap* filmstrip pictures (such as mostly black with a couple of spots from fireworks, i.e., on the Alice unbirthday cake scene this year). I although I love Pixar, I'll probably want only the ones from Toy Story and Monsters, Inc., which are two of my main pin collection groups.

Makes sense to me. Disney just wants a bigger piece of the pie that the ebay resellers are getting. They see people willing to pay $50 for a brand new pin, so why not raise the price. Demand is high.

I am not surprised with the price hike. But I am surprised that they did not increase the edition size. Especially considering the pins are split between DLR WDW and DS.com

Personally I'm glad they didn't raise the edition size, that's what killed the Piece of History pins when it went from 1000 to 2000 the following year.

Like someone else said, I have this entire year's set, so even though I'm not happy about the price increase I too will be paying for them still for my collection. It might just mean not buying some as traders.

I remember seeing a picture on a previous thread and it looked like the size of the pin itself is bigger, but with a price hike let's hope that extra money can go to paying someone for quality film control to sort out the crap scenes and include some better ones.

AMEN, no crappy scenes please! I hope they pick out scenes that have good shots of the main characters.
Oh and question: is this only pixar movies next year?

Yes, hopefully they are taking the $120,000 price increase and paying someone to cut out all the non desirable scenes and only give the good ones to the factory. Back when Disney sold original production cels at the Art Corner at Disneyland, they had someone go though all the cels and just trash the ones they didn't think would have a strong demand. You would think if they got rid of originals with bad scenes/poses, it wouldn't be too much to ask for them to ignore a tiny film strip with nothing nobody wants on it.

I guess there will be 12 pixar movies by then but who really wants 3 different toy story themed pomh pins? I would also love to see some of the newer classics since this year was all old movies, so maybe this year will be newer movies.

I seen a picture a few months back where the pin was bigger than the ones now so that some of the people who are new to the set or did not like the old set didnt have to collect it since the pin would be on a Different card and different in shape/size.

I second this!! And I hope the Tangled rumor is true...even with the price increase, I would probably want a few of these. :D

Well, I would...but that's just me. ;)

Actually, there are 12 Pixar movies: Pixar has produced twelve feature films, beginning with Toy Story in 1995. It was followed by A Bug's Life in 1998, Toy Story 2 in 1999, Monsters, Inc. in 2001, Finding Nemo in 2003, The Incredibles in 2004, Cars in 2006, Ratatouille in 2007, WALL-E in 2008, Up in 2009, Toy Story 3 (to date, the highest-grossing animated film of all-time, grossing over $1 billion worldwide) in 2010, and Cars 2 in 2011.

Then there are the shorts, but I don't know if they'd use them in any of the pins.

^oops your right, my bad :) I was thinking Brave was going to be number 12!

I love Rat Patootie! Such an awesome movie.

Well, we know there will be an Aladdin. So I am guessing they will probably do the rest of them like Beauty & the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Lion King, and so on. Mulan, Hercules, or Hunchback would be interesting.

3 different Toy Story pins would be quite lame.
