i took all my own pictures...and if i had been on pinpics longer than a month and a half i would have known more about them being so suehappy. i was trying to help, not create work...

Keep in mind, you said in a previous post to "keep in mind who is behind the computer" but remember, there is someone behind the computer for the mods. Yes, language can be kinder and gentler, but imagine how much work/listings mod(s) have to look through, fix, etc and how many trolls/people they've had to deal with and ban. And they do this all for free. Nuance and tone is hard to convey over the internet and I doubt they meant to hurt/offend. From what I've seen it's just Starry and one other person who have control/work on PTDB and it seems to be mainly Starry doing all the work (at least with fixing listings etc).

funnily enough even when i was upset about the whole matter i said all those things. that doesnt excuse the behaviour IMO. i understand having a bad few hours and then seeing what you THINK is 'that person doing it again'...but that's clearly not what it was. so here we are. i never even SAW any post about rules or a request for people to add pins, nor did i even know the sites were related until AFTER the dressing down. either way i doubt ill bother learning to use the site much less keeping the account there or here.
 
REMINDER: Pin trading is supposed to be a friendly hobby.

As for tone... unless someone is using a bunch of emojis OR you know them very well it is almost impossible to determine which tone is being used. Try to read the messages without the tone. (Has anyone seen the Mr. Show where a character writes sarcastic letters?)

Well today I tried to get into my "Trade Request/Inbox" section on PinPics and it just went crazy! It had me logged in as someone else at times, if I did get in as myself I couldn't do anything with what was listed as Messages/or Sent, who knows where the Trade requests went to or to who.

Since the integrity of the site and database is so bad I am avoiding doing anything there. Silence from the Owners is appalling.

That's disappointing. It's still working fine for me today, so I was hoping things were finally fixed.
 
I find it ridiculous that they can’t even publicly address the issue. Like they couldn’t possibly care less. I wish they would just sell it off to someone who gives a sh** about the community. I hope no one buys their ridiculous “virtual pins which aren’t even a thing you can own or touch” and they run out of terrible money making ideas and just dump their database to the first offer.
 
Yesterday I was logged in as someone else again (cannot recall their name.) Have not tried today.

But I finally noted the new problem of pins on my wants that I never added (very random pins that are not pins I collect, so they jumped out at me as obviously wrong.)

Totally agree @maiarebecca once Pinpics got sold, it’s gotten worse and worse each year. Now we’re at the point where trading on there isn’t even a viable option right now... logging on runs you the risk of having your profile accessed by someone else. It just totally hampers the pin trading community :(

This is what happens when people try to profit off of and exploit a hobby...

It keeps logging me into your account and I keep trying to log you out.
 
I managed to log in earlier but I don’t dare do anything on the site. Anytime I’ve clicked on anything other than my profile or gallery it logs me out so... really irritating and annoying if you ask me :/

When I get another users account, I keep clicking around until my account appears. I usually do not try to log out. For the last few days, my username appears after a one click to my pin profile.
 
I can log in but when I click on trade request I get somebody else, and then it says I'm not logged in And there are pins in my traders that I don't have and pins in my wants that I did not put there
Cant send trade request
 
I have worked on saving all my traders, collections and some of the wants in spreadsheets for a week now. Its such a huge work but omg do I love the result!

Before pinpics went bad you could search for example all Minnie pins in my colelction of wants, but that is not possible anymore. In my own spreadsheet I can now organize my pins after year, characher, series or what ever I feel like for the moment. Its so much easier!

And I can add pins that is not on pinpics easy. I have many older European pins that are not added there, or are added with wrong information. I still have a lot of work ahead of me before all pins are added but I really love how it turns out.

One bad note is I cant do any trades or trade requests of course, but I havent got a reply to a trade request on pinpics in such a long time anyway so Its not a huge loss.

The only really bad thing is I cant just say, go into my pinpics to look at my traders. But at least I know what pins I have now! :)

So I've been having this problem for a few days and sometimes when I try to log in it tells me that I'm not a registered user that my name and password do not match and be in stuff like that and also I get the 0 pins result when I know the pins are on there
 
OK, sis doesn't normally log in but for some odd reason, it's logged in (PP). I was searching for pin information and to find some 2020 pins. Was logged in under one user name, then clicked to a page and it was a different, then clicked again and was @this_and_that

so wacky!
