OK most of you know my wife has melanoma. I usually have to work when she visits MD Anderson in Orlando for her checkups, tests and results.
Well I was off on her visit in January. She assured me it wouldn't take long and we could go and walk around the Magic Kingdom after the visit.
So I grabbed my lanyard and put it around my neck. We got to MD Anderson around 9 am and as we sat in the waiting room she made a comment about having to wear my damn lanyard everywhere.
I honestly forgot it was around my neck. The nurse called her name and she asked me to stay in the waiting room. Not a problem.
While I was sitting by myself a little girl who was maybe between 7 and 10 came over to me and said Hi. I said Hello back and her mom called her and told her to stop bothering me.
I smiled and said it was OK to her mom. I could see her beautiful blonde hair was starting to fall out from her Chemo treatments.
She smiled and pointed to my 4 princess rack pins on my lanyard. She told me her favorite was Rapunzel because of her long blonde hair.
I asked her if she really liked the pins and she smiled and said she was hoping to go to Disney to see the princesses but she was too sick.
She told me she had Cancer and was loosing her hair to get better. I was trying my hardest not to start crying right there. I took all my princess pins off my lanyard and gave them to her.
I told her those were her badges like Russell in Up. Those were her bravery Badges. She ran to her mom who was crying and showed her her new Badges.
My wife came out at this point and was wondering what was up. I told her I would tell her after we left.

Turns out that the little girls name is Jazmine and she will be in the hospital till the end of March when her treatment is finished. I have been back to see Jazmine two more times all while my wife is taking care of herself.
I have traded or tried to trade for anything Rapunzel but we all know here how that goes. Jazmine now has 26 badges all princesses but still only the 2 rack Rapunzel pins. Anyone here feel like cheering up a special little girl with some Rapunzel pins?
I don't know who to turn to or ask. I figured here is as good as a start as any. If you want to help please PM me.

UPDATE

After several packages were recieved at my house, I went through them all and brought all of the goodies that the nice folks here at DPF sent to Jazmines mom. Jaz was in treatment when I was there and was expected to take a few hours of nap after. I gave the stickers books and pins to Mom and she was shocked and started crying. She couldnt believe that complete strangers would do such a thing. Then i told her more were expected and still on the way from as far away as the Netherlands. She about fell out of her chair. She said thank you from the bottom of her heart and was at a loss for words. I gave her everyones address that sent me something . She said that her intention is to send a thank you to you all when she gest or finds the time. I told her to focus on Jaz and that i would tell you all Thank You for her and Jaz. I did recieve a email from mom saying that Jaz was in sticker and princess heaven. She has close to 40 pins (or badges) now thanks to you all here.

Mom and Jaz say Thank You and I want to say Thanks for helping me Help this incredibly Brave little Girl.

edit: I found one more at the bottom of my pin drawer. Not the most kid-friendly design out there but it's yours if you need

Awww, what a beautiful, touching story. I have the DLPR Rapunzel purse badge. I'd be happy to send it for this sweet angel. Please PM me your address. God Bless her, your wife and you! I also have a wide pink and yellow lanyard, I'd like to send.

I wish I had some Rapunzel to give her. I will be looking out for them. I will send pixie dust for both her and your wife. What a beautiful and thoughtful thing to do.

Thanks for all the thoughts and help in finding Jazmine some new badges. I am heading back to see her on march 5th.

I would love to send something as well. Please pm me your address and kindly bring her the goodies! Very kind and thoughtful of you. Thanks for sharing this sweet, but sad story.

Ahhhhh my gosh, you're gonna make us all cry. :Throws pins at you!:

No, but seriously. This is the only Rapunzel pin I've got (the most common rack pin), and you've probably already given it to her. But if you need it for her, or you gave her yours and you need a replacement, just say the word and its yours:

And I'm gonna keep my eye out for other Rapunzel pins and stuff for her, too.

Awwwww. What a sweet, sweet story!

I just sent him that one as well as the newest one from the parks.

A truly touching story and what a wonderful thing you are doing. Sadly, I don't have any Rapunzel pins but I just want to send her and your wife my best wishes.
