A lot of patience...

...and money.

Welcome to the Tangled club! Im always happy to try and help, but agreed with the wallet thing! and have many great traders at hand and keep an eye out on the forum for a great tangled auction! im out of good traders so I need to re-stock!

Disney Channel lol? I saw it too last night and again this morning. Still don't want anymore of the pins than the ones I do now (Chair, Designer, Thrill, maybe BT) but the few things I could recommend not being a Tangled collector:

- Get ready to have your wallet be really light
- Be extremely patient as there are always Tangled pins for sale but you won't be able to buy them all the time
- Start meditation and yoga as stress might come quite often (you see how heated threads get when new Tangled pins come out)
- Put all other collections on hold for the time being

That is IF you want to start Tangled right now! If not, you can wait about a year (yes, a whole year is a lot to wait) and then you can try to start collecting once Tangled is out and the new fad is in and all her pins drop in price substantially. Will they all be cheap, nope, never. Stitch, Jessica, and Tink pins still go for buttloads of cash haha xD BUT they will drop a bit and be much easier to find...so that's a plus?

Think about what will make you feel better:

* Few really costly, hyped up Tangled pins

OR

* ZERO balance on credit card bills ?

Patience is key...and while I agree the bank account is hit hard I have found that even ones you don't think you will ever get do show up on occasion (except the compact mirror for some reason). I agree with keeping good traders as well. I will admit that i have very rarely traded for mine...most were bought. Good luck!

lol i wont want every pin and Ariel is still my main focus i think i want like 1o or so pins i don't like most of the pins with Flynn because no one can make him look good lol and just like the Pixar boxes i wont spend that much. there are so many pins i like but will not ever pay that much for em. like the designer set i have a box but i would never take it out of where its at and i would never break it up. it will pay for my child's collage education lol

I have selective amnesia with Tangled. If it was already released and I don't have it. I don't need it. If it is released and I get it, I relish in my new found pin. I don't dwell on the pins that came out before I collected. They are too insane. I am also refusing to pay the stupid prices many of them go for these days. I can live without it and there are plenty of other pins I can get that I will lock away and keep and be just as happy....my preciousssss.

I learned alot from my marquee collecting. Next time, if you want to be a completionist for something, get the hardest pins first. I waited and then marquee's exploded. Tangled wasn't insane 2 years ago, it was hard, but not insane. Then the Up marquee sold for $400, then a Tangled Marquee for $300 (They were only $150 before those Up one sold,) then Tangled PODM's and poof, Tangled is now insane.

As a couple that has them all. BEST ADVICE of everything we've read is "PATIENCE" and a tie for second place is "MONEY/GOOD TRADERS"

we stress patience, because a lot of the last tangled pins we needed such as the R/C and Compact kinda just happened. We had amazing friends who let us know who was trading or selling them and we were able to get em. Dont look for them too hard or you'll drive youself Nuts! :banghead:

MarkheardJr. is completely right with how much the prices have soared since 2 years ago. Our 1st tangled Marquee we ever got was for $125!! and back then we were like
:anxious: <---Thats too much!! now its an easy $500! So having extra $$$ to cough is a big help too!

And as far as traders, you GOTTA have rare/nice traders and they gotta match up with the person who's trading the Tangled Pins you need. Cuz a lot of us who are trading the HTF tangled Pins are looking for very specific pins..might I suggest you PM those people and ask if there are pins you can go hunting for? ( i know we've done that!)

OH and we forgot one very important thing...PIXIE DUST!! gotta have that..because I know we needed a lot of luck and good fortune to get a hold of some of them! Goodluck on your quest OZZIE! and we're glad you did not quit DPF :)

Patience, patience, patience.

I've found if you're passionate about a series - any series - you will get what you're after.

... also, being just a LITTLE BIT crazy helps.

I recommend winning the lottery or marrying rich.

If you aren't a completist then you wont be spending as much money. There are 20 pins of her in the same pose. Get the open edition ones of her holding her hair or looking up. Frankly the open edition French pin of her in this pose is prettier than most of the LE pins of her in the pose.

I keep going back and forth about whether or not I want to collect Tangled. I've considered only collecting the 10 or so pins I really like. Only one of them is Limited Edition and its thankfully one of the ones that sells for under $100. Maybe one day I'll spend the 60 bucks on the open edition pins I like and make the frame.

Okay heres the deal my friend...i started collecting tangled in july....i have about 25 pins....i had to trade hard for most of them...the whole key is finding them...because u never see them...i traded all mine from dlr...also the dsf tangled pins helped alot! Best of luck! Manda

Perfect idea. Sell your Ariel pins to prince Eric and myself. ;)
glad to see you haven't left. Seeing you wanting to collect more is exactly what's going to make you want to stay here.
