Before I tell the story, I would like to truly thank all of you that helped us make this happen... You All know who you were and I do not want to miss anyone, so I will not name the names...

Ok first off... Our Target for all of this was Nathan95... Here he is with his Mom (Carline)...

Many of us traders here in the So.Cal area love this kid to death... He has the biggest heart and is one of the most sincere people we have ever met. Nathan has been collecting pins for some time and has one absolute favorite collection... His DSF Marquees... Many of you often have seen his request to find his last ones, but some of them as everyone knows are hard to come by...

Well a special one became available out of the blue, which required quick action from all of his friends... His friends all donated pins to our last Giving Game to help raise the money for his surprise...

Now how to get him to DLR and how to make it inconspicuous... Thus the White Elephant Pin Exchange was formed...LOL... We had a wonderful time exchanging pins especially when nearly every one there knew which box was Nathans... A few shuffles and it was in his hand... or was it???

After layer after layer of wrapping and envelopes he arrived at what he thought was his exchange gift...

He found this...

After looking back in the box again, he found a false bottom that when opened revealed another multi layered package... Bwahahaha...

He opened it a layer at a time until...

This was followed by tears, shaking, and a thousand hugs to his friends who were able to make it there...

To say he was excited was an understatement... I think I saw him start to float into the air...LOL...

Thank You to everyone who was able to attend... I am sure you all had as much fun as we did watching Nathan open his gift...

Wow, this is so awesome!!! So glad Nathan finally got the UP Marquee :) This is just so great!!!!
 
Is it bad that I've come to expect no less from the DPF community? I mean, this community is something else, you guys are so close and so generous it almost makes me in disbelief that someone can join the community for free anytime they want just by making a username O___O I hope one day to be included in your tightly knit close CA group (when I move out to CA of course).

Out of curiosity, can someone tag the photo because I now know who Nathan is (and his mom of course) but I am quite curious to see who else is in that photo :)
 
This is seriously awesome. Nathan's a really cool guy, I got to hang out at disneyland with him once. And Moe, you're amazing for putting all this together!

If possible, as kupo1121 already asked, I'd like to know who everyone else in the picture is also. :)

I'm so glad I was able to be a part of this!! I can't imagine a better recipient and watching the look of shock come across his face as he realized what was in there was absolutely PRICELESS! We should have gotten it on video! He was literally speechless, hiding his face from all our prying eyes. It was such a sweet moment, I had tears in my eyes just watching the joy on his face :) It was a fantastic night!
 
That was a fabulous time Moe. I only wish I had known about the pin for Nathan in advance so that I could have pitched in as well. Times like these are what makes my enjoyment of this hobby that much greater.

And for the photo tag this is Tom (Kristine - Psycho Pixie's hubby). Don't know if you ever actually knew my DPF name hehe.

This was actually done at the snack bar on the far side of the pool at The Grand Californian Hotel. That way anyone who did not have active passports could attend. It was originally planned for the lobby which was way crowded on a cool night.
 
We were kind of off in a corner area. So it was just the DPF members. Anyone else who found us there would have been completely by accident.
 
Thanks Moe for putting names to the faces, and congratulation Nathan you are such an awesome kid, and i sure enjoyed the time we had while I was in town, Nathan took me on the cars radiator springs ride for the first time, what a blast, it was great to spend the time with you.
 
Yay!! I am so happy. I wish I could have made it but thanks to Karin for getting it on video it was the next best thing. Nathan is one of the kindest, sweetest kids I know and I couldn't think of a better recipient. I want to thank Moe and Rebecca for not only putting this together but by also letting us be apart of the giving in our own little way.
