I made a "novice" auction. see below for info.
Here's the auction. Trade Auction: Novice bidders Auction

Alright folks! I need input from some of our NEWER members.:hsd:

I am thinking about starting a series of auctions which are aimed at our "novice" DPF traders. Members who are new to the community, do not have tonns of pins to throw at auctions, but want to get in on the action.:naughty:

These auctions will be geared towards teaching you the ropes of bidding, shipping and leaving feedback for your trades. :bigthumb:

I want to put some restrictions of sorts on the auctions, like only allowing bid from people who have fewer than ___ number of feed-backs in itrader. :wiggle:

Thoughts, opinions, snide comments? Yes, no, maybe interested?

I would be interested I only have a few traders.. as I would say I am more of a buyer at the moment and have acquired all my current pins this way :/

I love this idea! Since I'm newish (been here since Thanksgiving) I still have a lot of little traders that I would like to be able to use in auctions. Great Idea Psycho!

I would be interested in an auction here as I have never bid on one yet. I am in the process of acquiring and this forum and the bay are my only ways of doing that at this point. That's if I qualify, I am up to 5 feedbacks now, Woo hoo.

A question for you....

I am so happy with all the positive interest!!!!!

At what point in online trading do you folks feel you have gotten the hang of things? do you think 10? 15? trades with feedback under your belt would be a good cut off point for bidders? Or higher?

Also realize that I will likely be doing open edition and rack pins, retired or currently on the market. I noticed the majority of the replies so far are from people with assorted princesses on their wants, with a smattering of star wars, fab 5 and some villains. I will attempt to put pins up for auction that the newer members will have interest in. Maybe not on the wants lists, but in the same categories.

A few of you are not set up with your pinpic info linked in your profile. I stronger urge you to do that. Once your pinpics is linked, more people can see your trades and wants, thus creating more opportunity for trading. Can a more experienced member please explain the process for adding pinpics to the profile? I have not done it in so long I seem to have forgotten what part of profile edit to use. lol

When I start this series of auctions, I will make a thread as a go to for random Q&A, suggestions and discussion. Give me a day or so to get this up and running!

I think it's a GREAT idea I have traded 2 or 3 times on here now, but I still don't quite understand the auction thing. Well, I mean I know what I'm supposed to do, but maybe an easy intro into it would be less scary.

Oh so like an example auction that people could use as a reference. Thats a really good idea!!!

yup. but i will do them regularly for the newer folks. maybe every couple weeks or so. I have the basics started in my prep house on the testing forum. ya'all are more than welcome to go read whats there so far.
