Hello fellow Pin Traders!
Many of you know my girlfriend and I for our pin trading only, but there is another professional side of me. I am a filmmaker and have worked on a variety of large-scale projects, and have produced some of my own as well. I have been a part of the pin trading world for almost a year now, and I am amazed with what a wonderful world the pin trading world is. I have decided to produce a short-documentary style film revolving completely around pin trading. I have already started filming sequences at various times in the park and at DSF, but I now turn to you, the ones that really make this world turn—The Pin Traders!
I would like to get as many pin traders involved as possible. I realize everyone has busy lives outside of the pin trading world, but if you’re willing to participate in this documentary please let me know. There is no buy in ($$$) to participate in this documentary it is 100% FREE to anyone who wants to participate. For the most part we would shoot a video interview and would ask these types of questions:
-Why did you get into pin trading?
-What keeps you involved with the pin trading world?
-What does pin trading truly mean to you?
-Have you ever hit a low point with pin trading and wanted to quit?
-What do you do outside of pin trading?
-Who is your favorite character(s) and why?
These are just a few sample questions that could be asked during an interview. These interviews can be shot at your home, my home, the DSF, DLR or at a pin trading event! I am very flexible. All names and identities will be labeled as either your PinPics ID or DPF ID. Our community is small, and we know each other’s real names, but for the sake of this documentary we will label you by one of the previously mentioned ID’s.
This is an opportunity for you to share your stories and show off your collections that sit at home for your eyes only! For those of you that do not live near the Disneyland area don’t feel alienated I want to hear your stories too! If you live outside of California or far from the DLR do not hesitate to participate via Skype or Facebook video chat! Your voice matters too!
All interviewees will be treated professionally and will not be slanted in any way to portray you in a negative light whatsoever. I am aiming to produce the most interesting and pure documentary that highlights our wonderful community. No community is without its drama, but I feel that this documentary will help others understand why we do and say certain things to each other. Everyone that participates will be treated as EQUALS!
If you agree to participate you will be given Credit in the film and you will receive a DVD copy of the film. If any of you have photos or videos related to pin trading that you would like to share you will receive a “Special Contributor†credit in the film.
