Actually, that wouldn't surprise me if the cars they are camped around are their own cars... The lot is rarely full (on weekdays at least), so he has a guaranteed full-day rate for 20+ cars for 3 days...

Now that I have an aerial view, I can see they are lined up between two rows of cars (some of which are open/being accessed, so it's obviously their own cars). I imagine if they don't cause problems, the lot operator won't care much... Pin Traders are probably a better option to homeless people...

and here is a quote directly from someone on pintalk

"We are camping in the PK lot directly behind the DSF. The PK lot is getting money for all of our cars parked here for three days. We are camped between the two aisles of our cars. The operator of the PK lot is happy with our camp out....as we are the only cars in the lot."

The photo is of the outside parking lot behind the El Capitan / DSF complex (which is on the left center) - Jimmy Kimmel studio is on the lower left. His outdoor concert area can be seen on the lower right. Hollywood High School is on the upper right corner across the street.

This is going to get really really ugly. 80 people have already committed to 3.5 days in line (3 in an unofficial, and possibly .5 in the official) regardless they're for sure incurring $60-$75 in parking fees. You can bet those people will be throwing elbows and shoving to make sure they didn't waste their time and money. But that was their decision to waste their own time and money so we'll all see.

Rik do you own a helicopter?? nice shot. God bless those folks, thats alot of camping for a pin, i know they sell for $100 or something but you still can ONLY get 2 per person and to be there for 3 days somehow does not seem to make econmic sense. I mean the tiana pin is popular and i wanted Bolt (thats the other right) i just dont think they will sell that high to make it worth all that...maybe it will rain...te he he aint i a stinker!

That many, huh? Looks like it'll be food and drinks with Bob, Marvyn, Amy, and the rest of the folks whose names I can't recall, on Friday. :coffee:

Wow. So there's a chance that some of those people in the "unofficial"line may wait for 3 days and still not get anything because of whatever rush may occur when the "official"line starts?

In my mind, its a bunch of people hanging out in a parking lot waiting to get in line. If Disney sets a time of when you are allowed to get in line. Everyone should have an equal chance at getting the pin if they show up 5 mins before that time or 5 days. If someone wants to show up 3 days early. They are free to do so since its not Disney's property they are waiting. Again, just because you spent three days in a parking lot next door to where the pins are being released means you are entitled to the pins how? Completely different if they were waiting in Disney's line but they are waiting in a parking lot next door.

Personally, I would love for Disney to tell that line they will escort them over at the proper time. Let everyone that showed up at the posted time in the front and then lead that line into the back. It would make people think long and hard about arriving days before the posted time....

I agree with you, unfortunately someone is probably going to have to get hurt over these pins for DSF to do anything about it. That's when they will change lineup policy, not until then. their smug arrogance will inevitably get someone injured and lead to a lawsuit. That's when policy will change. Sad to say, but that's how it goes in Corporate america, Its all about the bottom line. then when someone sues to affect that bottom line, corporate disney will then take notice, not until.

That's exactly my thought on it. I had debated trying to get a last minute name your price flight on Priceline to fly out there today, but after seeing all the crap yesterday I bailed on the idea pretty quickly.
