My first pin was my Pin Trading Traditions that I was given at my Traditions class my first day working for the Mouse. However the first pin I bought myself was LE 500 CM surprise release Time Clock. Those two will forever sit in my keepers book.

Anybody else have a story of their first pin(s)?

I do! My mum took me to see Hercules and since it was the first weekend they gave out pins with the purchase. I got Megara. Only problem is the biggest chunk of her hair fell out shortly after!

My mom bought me this one in 2007 just because we thought the pins were cool :) I just now got into collecting this year xD

Pin 42291: Cute Characters - Pluto with Bone (Bobble)

Yep twas a Grumpy pin I got as other half calls me Grumpy XD so my friend bought it for me, I still have it almost 3 years later even though I dont collect or like Grumpy hahaha

My first pin would have to be the Disney College Program Ears. First pin that I bought for myself at WDW was at Company D which had "earned my ears" ribbon attached. I then stuck my earning my ears to the DCP pin to make it a companion.

First pin I got was the rainbow Mickey ears. First pin I bought for myself was the OE Merida pin. First pin I traded for was Pin 18232 DLR Cast Exclusive- Jasmine & Aladdin on Magic Carpet.

I had a few older ones when I was a kid, like gaston & belle but they have long since been lost :(
my 'first' pin I bought at comicon, I saw it had LE on the back so I googled it, came across pinpics and it was all downhill from there xD

The first pin I ever got I was back in 2003 and it was Pin 3968: DLRP - Piglet. Though it was many years down the line before I got really into pins and trading

Mine would be the Lady & the Tramp countdown to the millennium pin (344), and the Bambi countdown to the millennium pin (402). I got them at the same time at my local Disney store... and I remember wanting more, but my mom telling me no.
:) They are still part of my collection.

2010 - My wife and I are staying at Disney for our honeymoon. We really didn't know much about pin trading, but saw a neat Figment pin (I believe it's 74224), and got it in commemoration. A little bit later, my "sister" (might as well be, I've known her almost my whole life) was with us at Disney, and got my wife hooked. It's just grown from there.

My first pin was # 93569 SF Giants Goofy and it is also the first pin I put on Pinpics. I bought it at a Giants game this season and I have worn it for every playoff and world series game. I don't know if I will ever trade it...

Mine was from my wife on our anniversary, too. I had spent several days at WDW wondering if I should buy some pins and start trading. My wife surprised me with

And so it began. That one isn't getting traded, no sir!

On my first ever trip to WDW when I was 12 I found this pin on the ground, so it was technically my first Disney pin, but I didn't start collecting 'til almost 9 years later.

Pin 10499: DCA Birthstone Minnie - September

Was my first Disney pin. I bought this and the May one for a friend of mine because we had written a story together. Two of the characters' birthstones were Sapphire and Emerald. These two characters were based off us so... as a gift, when we went to DL together in our teen years, I bought myself the Minnie sapphire and her the Minnie Emerald :) I still have it to this day along with the Minnie march birthstone pin (my actual birth month). I wonder if she still has hers...?

The first pin I ever bought was summer of 2010, and it was a Donald Duck pin. My family and I were at Epcot and I really wanted to get a pin or 2. My mom said that on our way out we could stop at the pin trading area. As were we were looking at the pins, it started to POUR rain and it was VERY WINDY. Pins were being thrown off the shelves! After we bought the pin we ran to the big gift store til it stopped raining. I will never forget my first pin AND the story behind it :)

My first pin was actually a set, this one:

Pin 5370: DLR - Velvet Heart Princesses Boxed Set (5 Pins)

I got it from my dad as a present and I was a college student who had never heard of pins, so when I opened it up I just rolled my eyes, thinking, gee thanks Dad and now I LOVE it because when I started collecting, it was on my wants list until I found it one day and remembered...I did such a happy dance that day! 9 years later...it has all just grown!!!

This was my first pin. I wore it on a straw hat that I purchased t the Indiana Jones store at DLR when it was released in 2001. My room mate collects Eeyore so she has it now in her collection now. I hope to someday get another one for myself.

Back before "official" pin trading, Disney Store used to carry them occasionally. I've always like pins- I wouldn't call myself a pin hobbyist or collector, but I was always drawn to them, even as a kid. So I picked this one up from the Disney Store some time in the 90s...

My first pin was a minnie watch that they gave out if you paid for parking at WDW. I didn't think much of it then but decided to keep it. Couple years later, we bought some traders at the park (big mistake) at full disney price and we were hooked...

This was my first pin (a freebie from Disney/American Express) 2002 - 7th anniversary trip

Yes, it was Sneezy from Snow White. I bought it from eBay and I really liked it because of the gem inside the flower he is holding. I really would like all the others in that set too :)

I remember my first few pins. I started my collection in January 2001 when my parents took me to an AP preview of Disney California Adventure. Before the preview, we went into Disneyland. I bought a personalized pin with Minnie, Mickey, and Donald on it (pin #5087 on PP), and then bought a Haunted mansion pin (#237). When I went to the preview, they were giving out pins to every Guest who entered (#3881). And then I went back the next month and got a set of Disney Dollars (#2905). Went again in October and got a Halloween 2001 pin (#7490), plus a couple of American flag pins since 9/11 had just happened the previous month (#960 and #10716).

After that, it's all a blur! But I'll always remember these pins as being the ones that launched my collection and my hobby for pin collecting/trading! I still have all those pins, and I will never trade or sell them!
