Sleeping Beauty (2014) Fall Release (New Merch, News, and more!)
I don't buy the LE dolls, but here's some stuff I'd like to see. :)

Maleficent:
- a line of OPI nail polish, hopefully with some awesome dark colors, glitters, and Liquid Sands
- some nice-looking Maleficent dolls for the DS and Target/TRU/etc. store lines
- A live-action movie version Funko Pop figure of Maleficent

Sleeping Beauty:
- A Sephora make-up line (although I know it's unlikely)
- some nice-looking dolls from the cartoon movie (also for the DS and Target/TRU/etc. lines)
- More Sleeping Beauty Funko Pops (only ones so far are several sizes of Maleficent and a mini Aurora). I'd love to have Aurora, Philip, and Maleficent's dragon form.
- a re-release of the soundtrack

I think they will do a sephora make up line :)! They did one for Ariel, cinderella and jasmine so far! So they will most likely do aurora :D

I read somewhere on here that Sephora is not doing any more Disney lines. I guess the Ariel collection was the last. Plus now Disney is doing their own line of Beauty items. Hopefully they will do something.

Id like to see them also do something similar to what they did with the Art of Ariel. Like notebook, pens, phone covers, SB Vinylmations etc.

Aw no that sucks!! The boxes were so pretty on the sephora ones :(
 
Yeah, I remember reading that Ariel was the last. I'm hoping something will change though. :p It's such a bummer that they'd cut it off like that, without at least finishing out the "classic" princesses.
 
Yeah Im still holding on with hope that they will. I missed the others especially Ariel and just cant pay those increased prices online. Maybe Disney will do something better with their own line and add Maleficent and Aurora. At least there will be the MAC line with Maleficent.
 
My fear is that there will be a blue dress edition of the 17 inch Aurora doll limited to 100, probably in Harrods again. i agree with earlier posts that Disney has to listen to their feedback and increase edition sizes not only for the 17 inch dolls but also the fairy tale couples. Their decision makes should have been in the stores when there were not enough dolls, hardly a magical day, given a lot of people took time off from work and dragged others with them. Its not like DS gets stuck with any of these dolls, yes some of the villains were discounted but so what? Maybe 13 thousand was too much but what they did this year was not enough. Why do they intentionally create customer dissatisfaction, I don't understand it.

My thoughts are kind of the same as yours, I too fear that they are going to make a very limited #of blue dress Auroras, although I do not know if Disney only did that special at Harrods to promote Frozen. I do not have a Disney store where I live so my only chance to get any dolls is online and a lot of the time that means staying up until 2am where I live, with two little kids this is not easy for me.
I don't think Disney is worried about if they sell dolls quickly or not, I think it comes down to how much time they want to put into the manufacturing process of the dolls. I don't think them having to mark down dolls hurts them a lot. I do think that if they started making too many #'s of their released LE dolls some collectors would be unhappy because they would feel like they didn't have anything rare or that special.

Some dolls are just more popular than others too, The Disney Maleficent doll is going for around $300 on ebay right now and is in very high demand. The Anna and Elsa dolls that were released had people afraid to buy them since they hadn't seen the movie, but since they waited they had to pay much more from resellers. I do think that Disney should of made more of their new release dolls, Frozen and Tangled, but in a way I wonder if Disney is just not all that confident in what they are putting out. It's almost as if they are afraid people might not receive their new films well. Disney being the merch-king it is you would think that they would make more dolls to sell. But I guess they have unwritten rules about release numbers for their LE Dolls.
 
Im going to assume that we will get the usual for each Diamond Edition release. Figure sets, classic dolls, classic doll collector sets, mugs, stationary, costumes, and so on. More than likely, we will get limited edition dolls of at least Aurora and Maleficent. I would like to see one of Phillip, but that is a hit or miss deal. I feel like maybe the only reason we got Eric is because The Little Mermaid is one of Disney's most popular and highest selling films, and Eric is one of the most popular princes. Granted a lot of people love Aurora and Phillip obviously, but I don't think its anywhere close to Ariel and Eric. Plus, Disney had the D23 expo backing up The Little Mermaid, so they went all out with merchandise. Maleficent will more than likely get a release in 17 inch limited edition doll form because they have released a villain doll to be a "companion" of sorts to the princess heroine the past few years with Rapunzel and Mother Gothel, Cinderella and Lady Tremaine (I still punch myself for not getting her, seeing she is my second favorite villain), and last years Ariel and Ursula. Plus Maleficent is Disney's most popular villain and she has a movie coming out the same year.
 
I really hope they do a 17" of Philip--he's an amazing prince and there are just so many opportunities of what they could do with his design! I know if they released him, I would certainly get one. I'll just cross my fingers for now and hope!

Yes, yes, and YES! Prince Philip's woodland outfit is the best outfit for him... I guess in the same vein that many people prefer Aurora in her blue gown (I have to admit, that I do like her in pink), I prefer Prince Philip in his woodland outfit--but I will take LE dolls for both no matter what outfits they are in! Though what they are going to do with Aurora's hair makes me nervous (please, please, please keep her signature bangs!) and Prince Philip with rooted hair could be a disaster, considering that he has a big poofy forelock, but really short hair otherwise.
 
Im not a fan of real hair/rooted hair on the male dolls. No matter what it always looks really cheap to me. I think thats why I wasnt completely in love with LE Eric.
 
Good God. I am so crazy excited for the 17" Maleficent. Like, seriously ridiculously excited!! FINALLY!!!! One of my two Supreme Holy Grails has the potential to be released this year!! ;) Any of you find a leaked picture, even if you can't post on here, I would be SO CRAZY GRATEFUL if you showed her to me. <3
 
I really hope at least one of the two limited dolls has Aurora in blue. I don't care which one, wait, no I DO care. I want the 17" doll to be in blue. But I think someone already said that was unlikely.
 
All I know is I am buying everything Sb this year, LE and not. And they darn well better make a lot of good merch, because Cinderella's year was a bit of a disappointment.
 
This is my fav classic disney movie; I'm hoping to get LE 17" Phillip, Aurora and Maleficent and the DFTC set this year at the very least. I just hope disney anticipates the demand and ups the edition size of the dolls.

This is my plan, too! :) I am also hoping for some really knock-out fantastic merchandise (esp. the dolls!), though the wallet's going to feel it!

The one thing I did love about Cinderella's year was that they used a lot of retro artwork. I love and own the tote bag that they did. I'm hoping Sleeping Beauty has the same.

Bahhh! I would love if they did this... my brain is going to explode with possiblities of what they could release... i'm doomed or rather my bank account is.
 
I hope we get a gorgeous Aurora in pink LE doll. A briar Rose and Phillip fairytale collection doll and LE Maleficent doll and then a doll from the Maleficent movie in the style of the 0z dolls.
If they do Phillip,I hope he has sculpted hair as Rooted hair on male dolls never looks right.

Hear hear! I don't know why people complain about rooted hair, I think it looks just fine. It also also for detailed cuts and shading, not to mention that my prince dolls as a child all had rooted hair. Phillip is one of my favorites princes, I'd say #2 behind Flynn and before Eric. He and Samson started the prince and his human-like animal companion trend for Disney (Flynn and Kristoff owe him, I'm sure there there are more I just can't think of right now).

I also hope there is a lot of retro artwork, I love the old sleeping beauty posters. I wonder if they will do a 17" like the Ariel with and extra outfit? I would just love it if they did it in her blue dress and her cloak was the "extra outfit" I've never seen a doll with that cloak.
