What Time will you be lining up for the Beloved Tales Dsf April 13th release

sounds like unfortunately a lot of people have realised what potential profit can be made from selling these on, and many people there probably dont even collect, theyre just there to make money!! I'm glad our uk releases are only online, as I couldnt do this every release I wanted! my health couldnt handle it lol!!

I was told by an employee of DSF after the line up and braclets handed out, that he was truly saddened how the resellers have created this madness and that he knew of 1 reseller that was there and had brought 12 members with them. He felt bad, genuinly bad that it has come to this and he believes it is all because of re-sellers that has caused traders to need to line up. Yes DSF needs to come up with a plan that works and stick to their guns with that plan instead of it being different every time, but whats the reason traders line up days early for the release? in the end I think it's to get this very limited pin set and not have to feed the sharks.

It sickens myself as a trader and a collector that we have to do this and beleive it is because of the resellers gouging the prices so high, it ruins this hobby and does not make it fun anymore. if there wasn't "12" people hired to buy pins in line from a reseller/shark, myself as well as the member I saw who had been there for days would have had bracelets. I just came by to offer cheer and to try and lighten spirits but then was talked into giving it a shot, so I did, I was in the back of the line and did not get a bracelet, oh well, it wasn't meant to be, but I am sure there were more than 12 in line to get pins to resell. Mabey if we Boycott buying them on E-Bay that might send a message to stop ruining this hobby! but it would take everyone to take a stand against it to be effective. I understand the traders needing to sell collections for college, or people have bills to pay or need to put food on the table or leaving the hobby, and even those who sell at a fair price, but the sharks we can stop them if we just don't buy. Honestly this is really souring the hobby I really enjoy, I saw tears, I herd anger and threats I read friendships have been lost!! it's a pin! and I love the friendships I have made with this hobby, I would not want to loose 1 over a pin, and I for 1 blame the sharks, and I am sure not a one cares what I have to say! they are going to make their money and be back for the next release and cause everyone who wants them for trading/ collecting do the same thing so they don't have to pay shark fees's! this is really souring the hobby.

Followed what rules?! Everyone showed up BEFORE 7:45... We all broke the rules.
The posting on Facebook said we may not line up before the 7:45 showing of Oz was seated. 7:45 wasn't the line up time. It's semantics really but yeah...they did leave a grey area as to when you should show up. We even asked how long before the show time would they seat the theater and they said it varies :/

Jrdsmom, thank you for posting what I have been criticized for saying all along, about the resellers here and the sharks on eBay.
I know one young man that lost his wristband because others started shoving him, mad that they hadn't got one before him. He ended up losing his because of the animosity over these pins.
Just don't buy at these ridiculous high prices and we will see the prices drop.
.

Just to let you guys know, the guy who waited 2-3 days who didn't get a wristband because he let the women go first is taken care of. I heard about that and tracked him down, and told him that if he isn't able to get the pins in the morning, he can have my Bolt, Wall-E, and Princess and the Frog at cost. I'd love to have them as traders, but as long as I get my Enchanted, what I collect, then I'm willing to give them up. Especially to help someone who waited so long and lost out due to chivalry. So nobody worry about him, he is taken care of, minus Enchanted. :)

Is there anyone down there right now for a standby line? I can't sleep, I was throwing up a while ago. I was thinking of just heading down there and hanging out.

Nailed it! I often find myself wishing this too. But, as someone who lives very far, I have to depend on re-sellers.

And people who trade them, trade them very very hard. So, it is not a whole lot better anyway.

I do not feel bad for him. His wife and little kids have their wrist bands. From what i saw he was Bullying everyone around. I saw him in at leasrt four people's face. Its his first camp out and he thought he ran the show. This is more of a case of karma.

The best part about it is everyone is blaming he first line for preselling and calling them sharks but the second line that formed had six of ebays top powersellers in it. I personally don't care who sells them but many of the newer people to this hobby or as everyone calls it sharks and presellers don't know the real powersellers but many of you have bought from them several times this is their business and how they make a real living. I personally don't care but those six powersellers have set the prices that these pins have reached today.

Instead of boycotting and not buying off eBay and all that crap...DPF and DSF need to participate in identifying the sharks and informing fellow collectors of them and their antics, but because it they both remain passive we will never know who they are as to not buy/trade with them. Some are obvious...who post their sales threads of 5+ sets and what not. I don't trade or buy from them already...that's a given. It's the sneaky ones that I have my suspicions about that I'd like to find out for sure if they do shark these pins! You can't resolve a problem without addressing it. You can't stop the sharking of pins without cutting off its money source and supply. How can we do that if we don't even know that we're buying from a shark? There's people on those lines that see the DPF members with a 20 head count at these releases. They should be able to speak up and WITHOUT repercussions! This is a hobby that only works if we work together! That's not going to happen if only the rich can afford these pins.

Who can afford to pay those prices?

If anyone who is getting pins but only collects some if the characters and will be trading others reads this, please feel free to check out my traders and also let me know if you would be willing to sell at a more reasonable price. Everything i had worked out fell through, which I expected :) I am a BT collector who has been collecting the series for over a year now, and I have all of the BTs prior to this release. I am also a hardcore PATF collector. Long shot I know, but at least worth saying. :)

March Hare, I don't know anything about that. I just saw a lot of people defending him and saying how it wasn't fair that he didn't get his wristband. I'm just trying to help someone out. It's good karma, after all. I like helping others.

So what would happen if DSF made all of the BT from here on out LE 1000? What would happen?

Good news: More people could get them, and "sharks" would have less of an incentive to buy them all since they just wouldn't cost as much in the resale market.

Bad news(?): Would this turn people off from getting them? If the fronts look the same, does it really matter that the backs have different LE #s?

Just wondering from afar (AKA not Southern CA)

Tinker I'm not staying quite! Your out of state and your statement is VERY false!! He lost his wrist band because he pushed a woman! She also lost her wrist band for being the victim as stupid as it sounds I watched them tell her while she cried that because she was involved in the situation regardless of her position in it she couldn't have one! And let me tell you he's not young!! If your not here to see for yourself don't start spreading rumors. Out of state people have fueled this fire enough! It's bad enough how this release turned out it actually made the news. People think what they did was good, HA!! you didn't, sorry, you may have gotten your 1 set but at what cost? Yes there's a lot of upset people, that is what you wanted right? Attention, because this was the one time you couldn't or wouldn't come early but yet you've also lined up in unofficial lines before. That is why people are saying friendships have been lost. All those who got refunds thank 745ers, hopefully they'll be willing to give up their one set to you for what you first paid or traded for it. IDC if people get mad at me. Once this release is done there will be a thread posted of the events that occurred throughout the camp out so all of you can know what is was really like down here from the actual "unofficial" line, because its not at all the picture the cry babies painted! Yes you read that right! I've always honored rules and went at the "official" time and each time wasn't able to buy the pins. A lot of people are done with this, some amazing pin traders! This release is damn shame, a silly pissing contest and no one won! Police had to escort PIN TRADERS!! Seriously now! The pin trading community is now split honestly. Fixable? From what I've heard and seen probably not this is all to sad!

i I was agreeing with Janice, Crystal, in regards to the resellers and eBay sellers. This guy in ? was not whom was getting me a set. I don't foresee getting one. And if that's what he did, than he deserved to lose out. He texted me, I didn't text him. I was sound asleep and my text ring kept going and going. I finally got up to see whom was texting me so much. Really, texting someone at 6:30 AM EST, just to tell me he lost his wristband when he wasn't even getting me a set. I agree pushing a woman, he should have lost his wristband. Shame on him! I feel very sorry for the girl he pushed. NOT RIGHT AT ALL !

March Hare, are you sure we're talking about the same person? Also, I don't know who the 'victim' of this bully is. Like I said, I don't know anything about the situation. I just heard Moe and a bunch of other people saying that he didn't get his wrist band because he was letting women go first.

DSF had a very difficult time managing 300+ people in line. 500+ would make this release look like a tea party - yes, that many people would show up because no one would want to take a chance at being #501. Disney does not own any of this property, they lease it, and they had to make special arrangements with the property owner to allow customers to line up.

Tinker I didn't mean anything of towards your opinions of re and pre sellers, your entitled to your opinion and I will respect it even if I didn't agree. You shouldn't use names my dear, it was all terrible and that can make it worse. I hope you do get a set, they're beautiful pins. The dust will just have to settle on this one.

I'm out of state and didn't fuel a fire, but I still think this release was crap! I for one am happy it got so bad. Maybe DSF will be forced to address this issue more seriously now. They need to find a way to be 100% fair and if Disney could do that with the designer dolls and 17" dolls than they can most certainly figure it out with pins. The fact that it has gone this way for so long is stupid to begin with. I don't think its right to call Tink out and not be able to call sharks out. I am not a friend of Debi myself for personal reasons, but I would never out right attack her or her husband. You don't have to be at the release to know that it clearly was overly dramatized, but it wasn't her that did that nor was it out of state collectors. It's all the pin collectors, its Disney and its the sharks. I think Disney likes the bad publicity as all publicity is good. These kinds of release will one day end though and I can't wait to see what new way of releasing pins will be implemented.
