What are yours?

In pin trading we all have out main collection..things we are proud of....But are there pins maybe you collect that are unique? Maybe a movie not alot of people like...but you do? Maybe a type of pin?

Is there some awkward pin collection you have hidden away?

Mine...is home on the range xD

When I go to PTN's this is what happens

Trader: What do you collect?
Me: Aladdin :D
Trader: Oh...I left my Aladdin's at home. What else do you collect?
Me: ....Kingdom Hearts!
Trader:...what's that?
Me: Uhhhh a video game. I uh, also collect treasure planet... Jim Only, though.
Trader: ummm
Me: I collect Aristoca-
Trader: I HAVE SOME MARIES!
Me: ...mostly all the other cats except marie.
Trader:...what else do you collect?
Me: uhhhh...Well I sorta lightly collect Goofy-
Trader: YOU COLLECT GOOFY?! *shoves goofy pins at*

And that is how I ended up with 16 goofy pins one PTN. Because once word got out, everyone kept shoving them at me .____.;;

...
I feel like such a hipster collecting Goofy. Princesses? Too main stream. I collect Goofy. Yeah, you probably haven't heard of (anybody collecting) him...

LOL! Home on the Range?! I've never heard of anyone who collects pins from that movie. That's great!

I don't really have anything hidden away or to hide.
Malef, Snow Queen, Chernabog, Epcot, Figment, Duffy and Sorcerer Mickey are what I collect.

I haven't actually got any of these yet, but... I've been thinking about collecting Dick Tracy. There are so few pins out there (from what I can tell on pinpics), and I really adored the movie, and I could not stop singing the soundtrack all through high school and my undergrad. So that'll probably be my awkward guilty pleasure once I get some. :)

Also this isn't really guilty, but I'm trying to start a Secretaries Day/Administrative Professionals Day collection. 'Cause I am one. :)

Also, Riftraftstreetrat made me giggle like crazy. :D

I collect pins with the Feature Animation Studio in them.. very seldom do I see these, so when I do, I get happy.

I think I have somehow managed to start collecting lion king podms without realising I was doing it lol! 2 coming in the post and I am bidding on a third! I dunno when this happened. I don't collect lion king! Lol!

Hydra....

I picked up pin# 2419 in a trade because it was wierd and different. I THOUGHT it was the only pin in existance with the Hydra from Hercules on it. Well, it wasnt, in pinpics one day I typed Hydra and got 2 pins with the monster, 3 pages of fire house and hydrants. So I found pin# 86053 which is the 110th legacy Hercules pin. I thought wow. 2 pins, its complete now! Then randomly, while doing pinpics search, I fiddled with hydra, Hercules, dragon, monster etc.... Now there are 4 listed pins with images of the Hydra from Hercules that show up in my search. Not including AP/PP OI!!! WTHeck!

Which means I still need pin#'s 57528 and 72820.

Wanna help me be a Hydra Completist?

 That made me LOL.

I've never listed Kingdom Hearts as one of my collections, just because Disney had only made one pin from KH up until recently. Now there's two. I have the four that were released in Hot Topic, but I've never really thought of them as DISNEY Disney pins, if that makes sense? :) Regardless, I'm now gonna had Kingdom Hearts to my list of collections!

Of my collections, I guess the most obscure would be Ratigan. I love my Ratigan collection though, even if most people don't know who he is or what film he's from.

Those are my Ratigan pins. I have the new Good vs Evil pin on the way!

My other collections I wouldn't class as being too obscure. Cheshire Cat (too mainstream!), Gaston (not too popular, but not obscure?), Scar (one of the more popular villains), Chernabog (another popular Villain), Zero (has more pins than all my other collections except for Cheshire and Characters dressed as), Mufasa (I guess that he would be a bit obscure?), Mrs Jumbo (Dumbo's mum, not Dumbo. So yeah, that might be a bit strange), Shere Khan (XD just not popular at all, like the film apparently).

Those are all of my individual characters. Then I collect Fantasia, but ONLY the Pastoral Symphony and Dance of the Hours. That might be considered a bit more unusual. Princess and the Frog, but ONLY Naveen, Dr Facilier, Louis and Charlotte. XP; The only thing I guess that would be obscure about that is that I don't collect the film as a whole. Characters dressed as other characters...everyone loves those! And Kingdom Hearts...I still need Mickey in his Organization cloak.

The most obscure movie I collect is Underdog. My dog and I must be the only ones on the planet who like it :) There's only one pin, but I have it:)
I also collect Bolt, who doesn't have many pins either.

I do not collect Cinderella, but I like pins with mice mice and carriage. This is as different as my collection can get, not much imagination here.

One of the things I don't usually say is that I am collecting April fool's day pins. Last time if checked there are 72 pins on pin picks, I'd love to complete something!

My weird collection has to be Buzz Lightyear of Star Command pins! I want all from the TV show, the awkward thing is though that Buzz has both toy form from the films and cartoon form from the TV show. So it means that sometimes Disney muddle them up. I have this pin Pin 49941: DS - Toy Story - Buzz and Woody which is beyond confusing as its the cartoon Buzz vector used (the one I collect) but it has Woody on it :S and Woody is most definitely NOT in the TV Show... oh Disney the things you muddle.

On the Kingdom Hearts note, I would love to collect it too and got my first official Disney pin of it recently Pin 83326: DLR - Sci-Fi Academy - Kingdom Hearts - Mickey, Goofy, and Donald, it is GORGEOUS! I also have this one too which is adorable Pin 90998: Kingdom Hearts - Mickey Mouse ^_^

Other things I like are pretty normal, princesses errm girl heroins, jessica and stuff I think is cute.

@Masamune I have the 15th Anniv. pin too and its fab!

Pretty much just Stitch right now since Im starting off
Debating on wether or not to start going for some sets aside from my grails

And aside from Stitch, I guess some PODM, lol

cute topic !

i dont collect weird pins but the way i collect is definitly weird.

The first time we went to disney and saw all the pins, I started collecting pins for everything we did and then it became collecting everything in the order we did it. then it became putting every pin in order in pin vacation books from start to finish. I started to think i was crazy but now i can go to say.... halloween 2005 pin book and the first pin is the resort we stayed at, then the monorail pin to get to MK, then the magic kingdom pins for where we went. then the frontierland pin followed by all the rides we went on in order. I do that for every park and ride. even for the places we shopped and special parades or whatever was going on.

I now have 10 pin books for my vacations and i can look through them like a photo album and see everything we did on that trip in chronological order ( OCD much)

Yeah, weird id say lol

happy trades
Kirk

When I was younger, my parents took us to Disneyland during the time when America Sings was open. I became fascinated with the eagle and spent the summer drawing it on everything. So when I saw these pins, I couldn't resist:

pin31791
pin31796
pin39250

I also love the Mine Mine Mine scene in Nemo so I have these:
pin24575
pin59614
pin90859

Besides Alice and some Ariel/Eric pins I also collect certain Fantasia pins:

And even more obscure, BONGO! :) I love this animated short. It's SO cute!

Love this thread. We collect frogs and ducks (but not the Donald and Daisy types). It has been fun collecting the rubber ducks or ducks with Stitch. He has frogs as well. Not mention Princess and the Frog, Kermit but no other muppets....etc! We think obscure collections are MUCH more fun than just a mainstream character. Really need to get our traders and wants up to date on Pinpics.... !

Lol underdog I just got this on dvd and started it half way through my portable dvd player broke hehe (I have to get around to watching the rest of the film), I did not know they released a pin for this :)

I wouldn't say any of my collections are awkward or guilty pleasures. Aside from classic Disney animals and Peter Pan pins, I also collect pins related to Hanukkah and other holidays, Haunted Mansion stretch portrait pins, and some Chip & Dale.

But sometimes a random pin appeals to me, and I'll decide I need it, even though it doesn't fit into any of my collections. My most random keepers are a Hidden Mickey Belle, an Alice in Wonderland movie poster, and Robin Hood.

This is my far the most random pin on my wish list:

pin39460

Pin 39460: DSF - Herbie #53 Logo

I LOVE this pin! 53 is my luckiest number. But alas... Only one person is trading it. :Sigh:

So my main collection is Rapunzel and Stitch with other characters. I also have gotten into some other things. Brave, it wasn't my favorite movie but I am warming up to it more. I love Fergus and the 3 boys so much more. Lion King was my childhood movie so I tend to get pins from that movie. NBC has caught some of my attention but I enjoy NBC sets. Sounds strange but I really love NBC pin sets. They look really great! I plan to keep up with Frankenweenie and be a completist with that little dog for sure. There are some sets I collect as well like PODM etc. My husband collects anything really Pixar but tends to be picky of which pins he would want to keep but loves to look at any and every pin. Fine, nothing really big or unique.

...But then there is my specific collection of Stitch. I know Stitch is a very popular character to collect but I look for a certain stitch pin. I collect Stitch with school related things.

Follow me here:

So I do anything back to school related but also if he has a book, or anything that would look like school related. I am the first college student out of my immediate family tree. Scary, so I got into pin trading and I have a desk area set up for school and crafting. I have been collecting pins so I thought it would be cool to have a board with Stitch and school theme on my cork board. I call it my inspiration board. I have due dates, craft ideas and other things that keep me going. I plan to get as many Stitch with school related things possible.

I started to think what will I do once I graduate with these pins, they suggested that I make a frame and put the pins around my degree, which I might. I seem to be on track for another 3 years of school but once I am finished not only will I have my degree but I will have some awesome pins. ;)
