Alright, I was lucky enough to win one of the lower priced R/C pins from the bay last night. I was so excited!! I paid right away thinking maybe the seller could get the pin out today and started dancing around the house. Soooo happy about it. Then, I wake up this morning and check my email and my payment had been refunded, and I had a message from the seller saying she no longer had the pin. What?!?!?!!? I just wanted to give a heads up to the other winners from last night, cuz I'm sure at least some of you are here. Did your orders go through? Is mine the only one she's thinking she doesn't have?

I'm just so upset right now (over a stupid piece of metal!! how embarrassing!!). There were two pins from this set that I wanted and after I won this one, most of my $$ was spent and I couldn't make a competitive bid on my first choice. If I had known she didn't even have the one I had won, I could have tried harder on the other one...omg, I'm just so upset. How do you list an entire set of pins and not realize that you don't even have all the pins?!?!
 
I hate to be cynical but I have won bids and it obviously didnt go as high as someone wanted so thry said they didnt have it and then relisted sometime later :/ or maybe they did not have it which is pretty bad :( Im really sorry this happened and hopefulyy you get a chance again for them.
 
Sorry to read this :( I always like to give people the benefit of doubt and would like to think that this is honest mistake, but my spidey sense tells me that AgentofAnarchy might be right.

Something similar happened to me few months back, but with a less significant pin. In my case, I was given a refund 10 days later and after I asked the seller if my pin was shipped or not.
 
Oh my goodness that is horrible... :( I'm so sorry this happened to you! :( As leopardpolkadotspots said, be sure to report that and leave bad feedback... who sells pins when they know they obviously don't have them? T.T :facepalm: Especially with pins like this, you would really make sure you have them ALL before putting them up for auction... did anyone else have this experience? :(
 
While I did have that thought (that maybe there were displeased with the selling price and just decided to refund and relist at a later time), I was more concerned about whether everyone else's auctions have gone through. Is mine really the only one out of the entire set that ended this way?

I won Pocahontas. The two that I wanted were Jasmine and Pocahontas but Jasmine, my first choice came after Pocahontas ended and I knew she would be more expensive that Pocahontas anyway so once I had won Pocahontas, I couldn't really afford to go up in price on Jasmine. That's the part that really gets me upset. If I had only known, I could have at least made a decent attempt at the other one I really wanted. Ugh, ugh, ugh!! And now it looks like mine might have been the only one missing afterall :( I know sometimes sellers decide not to sell to certain buyers based on feedback rating, or not having a confirmed address or something, but I have 100% feedback and a confirmed addy and I paid right away so I don't think it's me...

I would bet anything it just didn't go for as much as they wanted...which is sad. Don't worry about getting negative feedback if you leave negative. TOTALLY leave negative feedback. that is just ridiculous! I am so sorry you didn't get the pin you wanted...that sucks :(
 
I am leaniong towards the assumption that they refunded due to the price not being what they wanted. But I do not know what you paid. If it was significantly less that the other R/C pins this same seller had up, there is a large chance they do have it, and didnt like the price. I just don't see how anyone could "forget" or "not realize" they dont have that pin in their collection to sell. These R/C girls are treated like gold by most people. How could they miss that one was not with the set they were selling?

Neg feedback. most definatly.
 
It was pocahontas! awww! :( I'm so sorry about this. And if its the one i'm thinking of, it went for a good amount so I doubt the seller told you they didn't have it so they could relist it later... but thats just me, who knows. I hope another one shows up for you soon! <3
 
I would absolutely leave negative feedback for this. If the pin is no longer available to sell, there are ways that the seller can (legitimately) cancel the auction prior to the auction ending. However, if he allowed the sale to end, he is responsible for that. He had his opportunities to end the sale, and chose not to. He is also responsible for ensuring that he does not trade away any pin that he is selling on eBay. Regardless of what the seller will claim his intentions were, you need to leave negative feedback (since he refunded the money, instead of canceling the sale, you still have this option). If he's not selling it because he didn't make enough money, he needs negative feedback... that's not how eBay works. If he did make an honest mistake, he needs to learn his lesson so that he doesn't do it anymore. I rarely advocate that someone leave negative feedback on ebay because of the ramifications that it can have for a seller, but this is certainly a time to do it. And don't worry about him leaving you negative feedback in return... ebay only allows sellers to leave positive feedback, or no feedback at all. His only real course of action is to block you as a bidder... but you probably shouldn't bid on his pins anymore, anyway.
 
Wow. That's so messed up. That sucks so bad. Im with everyone here, leave negative feedback. How do they not know they don't have the pin if they put it up about 7 days ago? And weren't the pictures of the actual pin? It's not embarrassing getting mad over pieces of metal because its not even about that anymore. What they did is messed up.
 
It wasn't a super low price, I got it for about $64. Slightly lower than previous sales, but not too bad. Not low enough that I was thinking they would try to get rid of me to get more for it later. Unless the expectation was higher, whether realistic or not.
 
I would contact the seller out of curiosity and demandvto know what really happened, and why it took them this long to realize they 'didn't have the pin'. Did they not use a picture of the actual pin? How frustrating, I'm so sorry this is happening to you!

That person used pinpics images for all of their auctions
 
Wow, sorry to hear this.

I was watching those auctions with curiosity. If any more of the pins mysteriously "disappear", I'm sure we'll hear about it here.....

It's curious that they would go to the Pinpics page, go through all the trouble of copying the image and remaking a new one (since you cant right click) and then copying the info and making a new listing all to realize you don't have it 7 days later when it sells? O.o That's a little strange and sounds like "seller wanted more for it."
Which has happened to me and I gave them heck until they sent out the pin or refunded me. Took them 2 weeks to finally make a choice, and no they weren't busy or away, they listed new things everyday and sold other things to others leaving feedback. Anyway that's a little off topic! Anyway~

The only thing I could think of that would be an honest mistake would be if those were all listed before and they re-listed that one by accident. Or they had the pin before and forgot they already gave it away since they didn't actually take pictures of the item.

And I would say I agree with negative feedback but unfortunately I just send one long irritated yet civil message to the seller and then if they respond nicely back or at least give me an explanation I don't bother with negative feedback. But it is a good heads up for other pin traders who read the feedback to know once in a while it might happen.

Though something new I noticed, eBay has been picking through a few accounts and erasing ALL negative feedback saying "too many negative feedback". I believe I had like 6 negative to 6 different sellers in the course of 1 year. Hopefully it doesn't happen to any of you because it happened to me :< which is a shame.

Please be aware that if this activity continues, you may be subject to a range of other actions, including limitations on your buying and selling privileges, and suspension of your account." -Ebay

The worst thing is ebay won't even step in and help you in this case. Ebay has horrible customer service and will do anything to avoid confrontation.
