For pins not on cards, in my trading bag, character, and then by edition. So I have a Princess page, but common pins are on one side of the page, LEs on the other.
All my pins on cards are in a large box that people use for CCGs or sportscards. Image below. Those aren't really sorted. Since I primarily buy traders at outlets when they are on sale and then sit on them, I have several of one style. So most of it is those are sorted by pin style. With one row being all the other pins I have cards, but I only have one each.
I just have one bag, and it goes from HM to OE to OE with something special about it (Paris, mystery, event only, etc) to low LE to high LE. Then some full sets in the zip pouch in the back.
Things that are either keepers, or traders that I would only trade for something really special, I like to display on themed boards. For those I put the cards in a box too. (I might have to see about a box like hopemax posted, that's pretty cool; I'm just using a shoebox right now and it's not that great!)
I really need to figure out a better way for my book. Right now all of my pins are on their cards in my trader book, but the cards take up too much space. My collection is in another book, but I took them all off of the cards... now I need to organize the cards. Luckily I don't have that many pins and can easily find the cards for my pins.
I split them up by book. I have a super crappy book that I worn people with good pins before showing them. Then I have a book just with le 500-2500. And then I have two books with all DSF trader, Le 100 DA, PODM's Disney Store etc...
Easy to hard arrangement. We often think we have nothing good, but someone seems to always find something they need. We've given up on trying to know which ones will never move, because you just never know what people will want.
By category, Princesses on one page, villains on another, stitch page, etc etc. If there are not enough to fill a page, Then we try to place similar together, like lion king and jungle book are on the same page. Another thing is we never put duplicates in the books. we keep dupes in a small pouch out of site. This helps create room for more pins. IMO, no need to display 3 of the same pin in the book(s)
