You know, I was sitting here pondering the thought of how likely a Vanessa would be. At first I thought 'impossible', not popular enough. But then I realised... We got a Lady Tremaine. She's left out of every villain line up, so I guess she came as a surprise. Hence I'm thinking then a Vanessa may be plausible. I really can't decide what I'd prefer- Vanessa, or a proper sized Ursula. I think Vanessa would be easier to make (so many slim doll molds already), but would she sell like Ursula (to non DPF members/people who don't know the movies inside and out)??
 
Vanessa is becoming more viable. You're right, Tremaine is ditched and very popular, she got a doll. Gothel was a newbie and she became the first doll in this villain character series. The Queen of Hearts, down in the pits with Medusa and Mim and she got a doll TWICE! I think there will be a doll of sorts since she got a solo lithograph and need to make up for whatever the designer doll was LOL. Something like the fat one made back in the day would do it. But if they were to make a Vanessa and were to incorporate Ursula somehow, make it have a mirror but the "glass" is plastic and the Ursula reflection is a sticker! I should work for Disney.
 
I would prefer Ursula myself but I wouldn't mind Vanessa. I like the idea of Vanessa with a mirror and her reflection being Ursula. I disagree about the Queen of Hearts. She is a pretty popular character. She appears a lot in the parks and I see her on a good amount of merchandise. She is more of the middle of the road. Maleficent, Ursula, the Evil Queen and Cruella are the most popular/merchandised. Then QoH's would be next with Gothel and Tremaine next. Gothel is the newest and she has already had 4 official Disney store dolls. Poor Lady Tremaine has been around for years and just last year got a doll for the first time! Yzma, Mim and Medusa are definitely under appreciated and need more love!
 
I think the Queen of Hearts is actually a better villain than Maleficent since everyone feared her and Maleficent while she was intimidating, Meriwether didn't let Maleficent scared her. The Queen of Heats got stuff done and heads cut off up front while Maleficent waited 16 years to kill someone as revenge for not being invited to a party. You wanna be a real heartless *****? KILL THE BABY RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF THEM! Pardon my French but seriously. That would destroy them. Screw waiting for the moment of perfection! I mean I love Maleficent but she needed to be less duffy. Lady Tremaine still remains my 1st fave though since she didn't even wanna ruin Cinderella's life, she did it solely cuz she could. Helga Sinclair, Medusa, Mim and Yzma are bad bitches but Yzma is Maleficent compared to Mim and Medusa in terms of advertisement. So, in a ranking of the villainesses, Maleficent, Ursula, Cruella, Queen Grimhilde, Tremaine, Yzma, Gothel, Narissa, Helga, Medusa, Mim.
 
Yep it does. I REALLLY hope for a pink dress LE of 500 or 1500. I would be on board for that. That and Tremaine are my holy grails right now along with Alice and the Queen of Hearts. Or an LE of the live action ones would be cool. Since Jungle Book is coming out along side TLM, I believe that TLM will have the Cinderella hype while TJB will have Pocahontas hype (none) but a surprise Shanti would be gorgeous. Kaa and Shere Khan plushes would be iconic and viable. IDK how a Mowgli doll would be viable since he would just be in red underwear LOL. I feel as if TJB will have more hype than Pocca since there are many iconic characters and it seems more popular honestly. But if they pull a Peter Pan and give us nothing, who will have seen it coming? I mean, they skipped Esme, Jessica, Wendy and Tink. Four money makers or at least one (Wendy) had the potential to be one! oh wait Mulan was skipped too! 5!
 
I wonder if, now that Merida had her coronation with her *phenomenally done* mother, the dolls will finally sell out. The solo doll already sold out once, but the 2 pack hasn't yet. I'd like to not see them anymore on the website. I think they are pretty and all, but it makes me feel like we won't get a new one till they are gone. And...you know...with tomorrow being mother's day...I'm really holding on to the hope that we get an Evil Queen surprise release. (I'M NOT GIVING UP HOPE YET! )

COME ON DISNEY! TINKERTIGG NEEDS A BRAND NEW DOLL! ;)
 
It could be some theme of "All those mothers had their day yesterday...Now I have MINE!"

...yeah...I just really really want the doll. ;)
 
I'd be really surprised if they did a LE doll based on a live action film (Cinderella), because then they'd have to pay royalties to the actress for her likeness. I won't be AS surprised if they ever did some for the Oz movie, but then the only one they did was the China doll. I believe it's the same reason they never added Giselle to the princess line. And I'm sure we all noticed the price hike for the regular Oz dolls. Royalties. Bleck. I'd rather pay the already high price for animated dolls... unless it was the Wicked Witch. I'd pay a premium for her.
 
Yeah this has been brought up a lot about the royalties and the use of likeness of live action characters which I do agree with you there and I def agree with you that there is more of a likelihood of them doing an Oz Wicked witch of the west due to the cartoonified look of the character and the next to no resemblance to the actress.

also in relation to the Cinderella movie it does not have a confirmed release date yet as I believe that Maleficent is he big blockbuster next year. So they may release it in 2015 or late 2014 over the christmas holidays. I highly doubt that they will release an LE for this as well due to the fact that it is a live action movie and the fact they already released Cinderella dolls last year anyway. Besides next year is Aurora's year so I see an Aurora in oct and surprise release Maleficient in October too. But that's just my opinion and I guess in HugsandKisses defense they did release the Alice dolls to commemorate the bluray and the live action Tim Burton movie release. Hence why the queen of hearts was an amalgamation of the movie and cartoon character.

So really anything is possible. :)

Honestly, were I blessed enough to be cast in a movie as a character big and popular enough that they wanted to make merchandise of me, I'd already have that huge blockbuster paycheck. I wouldn't need any extra money just for my face. But! I so would demand at least 1 of every LE item made of me. ;)If anything, I'd be so weirded out by seeing a doll of myself. But, you could bet your collection that I'd place myself right in between my villains! :D
 
Haha interestingly enough there is a company known as HotToys based in Hong Kong that create limited edition figures of various movies (more recently Iron man and the Avengers).

Oddly enough these figures have a very real likeness to the actual actors. Check out this Thor figure, granted the figures sell at around $200-300 a piece I wonder if the company pays royalties to the actors/actresses?

Just a random, totally inexplicable, out of the blue, surprise release. Is that so much to ask for? I want my collection to grow! Plus, it is so long until the next known release. I want! ;)
And, if they can't actually give us new dolls, just some imagery and info or something! Gah!
Yeah...I was not blessed with any measurable amount of patience.
 
Does anyone have any pictures or information about the next Disney Limited Edition 17 inch doll to be released? I heard rumors that the next doll will be Ariel... but I have not been able to obtain any info or pictures.
 
There has not been any information released other than the fact the doll is expected to be up for preorder around the 15th of July. We should be getting more pictures or details closer to the date.
 
Alas, solo Merida is gone...again. I wonder when she'll be back. ;)
What I really want to know is how many more Melinor sets they have left. They've been there forever!

I requested to take a peek of the Product Flow book at my Disney Store, and there was zero mention of an Ariel doll. But the pre-order for the DVD is July 29th (my birthday!). I wonder if the doll's preorder will stay July 15th, or if it will move to coincide with the DVD preorder?
