As it is, I do plan on getting the first wave of Frozen dolls, because we all know that for 12" play dolls, these are going to be the most detailed versions of them.

I do not think the film will be anything like Tangled at all. What audiences don't understand is that it is very difficult to create 3D character models without having them have some similarities in face/eye shapes and such. Even characters from other studios do not vary drastically from what we have seen from Disney thus far (look at Monsters Vs. Aliens, Gnomio and Juliet, Rise of the Guardians, etc. Most of the characters (especially the female ones), have very round faces with huge eyes and cute button noses. This does not go without saying that Dreamworks' "The Croods" showed drastic variation in both body and face types in their characters. Hopefully we will see more of this in the future). With all of this backlash I think they will attempt to make a more drastic change in the future, but it is already done now. And it is HARD to make these things. @_@ It makes me so very sad that people are writing it off before even seeing it. I know the trailers paint a certain picture, but I think they are trying to catch us by surprise with the story and plot line. I know websites like Tumblr are spreading some pretty intense hatred for Frozen! Its hard to look at :(

I think the LE dolls are gorgeous, and i'm going to be buying them without a doubt. But I suppose if people are skeptical about the film, they really probably shouldn't be buying them anyways >_< Wouldn't want any regrets!

Also the fact that it is another Disney Animated Studios movie featuring princesses just like Tangled and that it is also another 3D movie released by the studio.

I agree that whomever labeled Frozen as "Tangled on Ice" was probably mostly basing it off of the character designs and general 3-D animated look. Digging a little deeper, we probably will be seeing some more visual artistic similarities in that the original story of The Snow Queen and the movie Frozen takes place in Scandinavia (the Snow Queen's palace is supposed to be in northern Norway in the tale and Anna's regular outfit looks very much like a Norwegian folk outfit), and Tangled did draw upon Danish castle architecture for Rapunzel's parents' castle (according to The Art of Tangled) and the Snugly Duckling ruffians look like vikings. That said, I really doubt that the two movies will have too much in common otherwise.

Oh gosh... I don't even know how many dolls I have! Hundreds, I suppose, many of which are packed away in storage. I could never get them all into one picture. :p At some point, I should probably down-size my collection!

Does anyone know how I can clean the front window? Both sides have a dark oil-ish mark on them. The other side is worse.

I'm disappointed, a clump of Ursula's hair won't stay up, the box is a bit dented, and the front window is horrible.

I called Disney, they gave me $20 :(

My LE Ariel's cellophane window has those weird oily streaks on the inside as well! Thanks for the suggestion, I will try that when I get home. Obviously someone at the factory who was assembling the cellophane windows had some very greasy fingers! Gross!
 
No problemo, I have not used the wipes on these particular cellophane cases, but I have used them on others and they worked great without damaging cellophane. :)
 
Ohhh, mine just arrived today! I have #69..the lowest number I have of LE dolls!!! The moment I saw her I fell in love. She's beautiful and HUGE (as Ursula should be!).

Way to go! I still have not gotten mine....patiently waiting while working on some reports as I constantly gaze through the window.

I believe Disney should make spare, boxes and cases. That way in an event that the packaging is damaged, but the doll is fine, all they need to do is send a replacement of the packaging. With so many unfortunate cases where the packaging has suffered damage, you would think they would have began doing this already. I think this would solve many issues and in the end I think it would save them money because people will not be fighting for a new replacement or money back in the unfortunate event that the doll is sold out. Something to think about DS.

I was actually surprised with how big she was! I didn't realize she took up almost the whole box, but that makes me love her all the more!! :) I love that you can't see the stand either!

I agree. Right now I am strongly leaning towards not getting them. Which is great for other collectors it takes one out of the mix..LOL! BUT I am afraid that after the movie comes out I'll wish I had bought them. There not classic Disney characters/Princess..as least not yet. BUT I am sure they will be if the movie is successful. I need to search for a trailer. The only one I've seen so far is the one with the Snowman and the moose.

I totally second your suggestion! Last year, my LE Cinderella arrived with a damaged box (both cardboard layers and the cellophane window), but like in all cases so far, all they could do was offer an exchange for the whole doll, which I declined because they could not guarantee that her box would be in any better condition or that her glass slippers would not be stained. I am sure that they have extra boxes and cellophane windows laying around somewhere in the factory. It would be so much easier for them to send those out to people with doll box issues than to do their annoyingly time-consuming UPS doll exchange.

I have to still wait until the weekend (or possibly Monday) before I get mine but at least I have my DFTC set to look forward to now as well. Question about Ursula as I didn't notice it on the expo but is her skin a normal purple color or is it a metallic shiny purple color? Just that the pics make it look like that metallic purple.
