Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information

The UK price fiasco really stinks. I hope this money grab is not a trend for all of the dolls. If you got everything this doll season, not including the Harrods set, it's a whopping $1020 + tax. Next year, we'll have 4 couples and at least 2, maybe 3 Sleeping Beauty LE dolls, so it will be an expensive season again. I can see a $5 increase per doll, but 20 pounds just strikes me as greed.
 
Got them at the store. They had 4 of each. Got to see the store opening ceremony for the first time too, which was fun. I was only going to get Elsa but dang Anna was too cute in person so I got both. If she does come out in her snow outfit in the future I may want to trade her for that one.
 
UK and Europe 17" Frozen Limited Edition Doll buyers I have a theory as to why this has all gone horribly wrong today.
So the Dolls go on sale On line at 8am. Who ever did the pages for the Disney Store Website listed the dolls at £80 as a mistake. This mean't that all stores were called and told to amend the price to £80 from £60 as someone messed up!
This has mean't we have all paid over the original price because someone at Disney messed up!
 
That is true, many stores will go with the online price as the correct price. I would be calling customer services and asking a lot of questions. It just doesn't seem fair....why would it go up in the UK but not the US? I mean, wouldn't both prices be increased if they did in fact intend to increase the price of the dolls?

Hmm I dunno I'm sure I read on one of the threads that the ghost pages had £60 might be wrong though.
 
My order still says Active... Seeing that some people have said their orders already said "Processed" freaked me out... So I just went and spent another $217.90 on another set at my Disney Store. I showed up at 9:30 and no one was in line. I was in total shock. I actually flagged down the employees inside and asked if I had missed it. I was the only person there when they opened the doors, they had 3 sets, and no one else was coming in for them as I walked out at 10:05! Elsa is #221 and Anna is #1291. They are gorgeous!
 
Just a question, is the only way I could get either one of these dolls now is either to buy it off ebay/amazon or to see if someone has another doll and buy it off them? Do you think that Disney store will come back again with some stock at all (kind of like what they did with Merida and Cinderella) (I'm in Ottawa Canada btw and there are no Disney stores near here at all)?

I've been waiting for these two for such a long time!! Oh well, I really hope they have other versions coming out with the bluray

- So as a conclusion ... Didn't get the dolls in time when I checked out market mall. They literally were sold out right when I got there. I told myself it was okay & got the Frozen snow globe instead for my sister. Personally, I think it's gorgeous! & my sister is going to love it. Now I'm kinda debating if I want one for myself now lol. Congratulations to everybody who got their dolls so far! & congrats on getting that 5th doll out of 2500!
 
So I called the Disney Store about my issue with the billing details for Elsa and they said they originally put a hold on it but then cleared it but just in case she sent the accounts department an email with the correct billing details to avoid any issues. But as of this moment the order is definitely active and is good to go. So that is good to hear.

In relation to Aurora next year I dont think hers will be as bad because there will be around 5-6000 units for her at the very least. (Even if they were to distribute more to the Euro market that would still be a lot). Also she would be released as a pre-order too so it will take a bit longer than these dolls to sell out just because there will be more of her to sell.

My main worry would be for Maleficent, if Ursula was 2,000 then Maleficent should at least be the same if not more. That being said having 2,500 of Maleficent will be same as the Frozen dolls so she could potentially sell out just as fast as the Frozen dolls (12 minutes as confirmed by the lady at the Disney store when I called about my order) if not faster.

In relation to the UK price increase that is just sickening especially with such little warning too, I would have understood a 2 pound increase because at the moment USD$100 is about 62 pounds but even that would be silly but to increase it by 20 pounds is just asking for trouble, especially since the US Disney Store still has the same price, there is definitely something fishy going on with the UK Disney Store and to me it looks like they are starting to realise that their market is growing hence are increasing the availability more (by opening more online stores for different countries and increasing allocated stock) but at the same time increasing the price to take advantage of the UK doll collectors definitely a big no no. I do hope they do not continue this because this is just wrong and unfair to the UK customers.

Your only other real hope at getting one at retail would be to get someone in the UK to help you as that stock will last a while because most people will be outraged by the crazy price. But that would set you back about $130 just to buy it from there plus the shipping would probably push it up to $200 so it may be worthwhile to just get it on ebay. But I would wait though because you will find the secondary market will flood with these dolls and once the hype dies down a bit the price on the secondary market should go down.

Heck you can buy a Prince Eric now for around USD$130-150 which isnt that much more that retail.
 
Thanks everyone. ; u ; I was super happy because all of my other LE numbers are really high and random. Though even better than the numbers are the actual dolls themselves. They're so beautiful I nearly screamed when I first saw them at the store. I love them so much already and I haven't even seen the movie yet.
 
What Makes me most angry about the price increase is that they Already sold the LE 100 dolls at harrods for £500, So WHY do they need to increase the price of these?

I am annoyed it was £40 more. It's just irritating because they dont care about their customers at all. Disney Store UK online have some of the WORST customer service ive ever experienced!!!! In store everyone is lovely though :)
 
I had a problem with my order last night, the stupid DS website, only allows one gift card and then after the order posts, one has to call customer service and add the remaining gift cards. Anyway, they didn't open till 6am my time and when I called, the rep added the remaining gift cards. When I asked her if the status of more order would be affected, she told me that since they already tried to process the payment, there's no guarantee:/ I was SOOO ANNOYED at that!!! I decided to just go to the store, thankfully I was the 2nd in line to buy Anna and Elsa. My store only had 5 of each doll and I'm so happy I was able to get them. Anna is GORGEOUS!!!! The pictures online, do not do her justice!!! Who knows what will happen with my online order....I might end up with another set! Oh well, I didn't wanna risk not being able to get them at all.......I hope everyone who wants them, got them. I really didn't expect them to sell out so darn quickly!!!
 
Grats on the low edition, 5 is a great number!

I don't think Maleficent will sell as quick as Ariel or american sale of Elsa and Anna, I think she'd last at least two days or so? She has a lot of fans but less people collect villains. I mean on forums you find a lot of people who, do but generally they are not too popular with most people? There would be more Maleficent merch if she was really popular. I love Maleficent she is my favourite villain. I don't want a doll of her though...she is creeepy!
 
Actually she is the most popular villain and merchandise sells out extremely fast. She was the only doll from the Designer line to sell out on the website and in stores which is impressive since there were 13,000 of her. She is probably the most sought after villain and since Ursula sold out within 20-30 minutes I would expect nothing less of Maleficent. Plus she does have a slight cult following...then we also have the movie Maleficent coming out which will bring in a new fan base as well. I know that Hot Toys will be making a 1/6 scale (12in) figure of Angelina Jolie as Maleficent so I'm interested to see how that one will turn out!
