DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion
Its being described as a set that will be sold both at Harrods AND on the Disney Store website. Its not completely exclusive to Harrods as far as we know. Unless I have been reading the information wrong.

Oh! But did harrods make the set, or are they also distributing it here in the U.S?

I don't think its being made by them. Its being made by the Disney Store like how Wedding Cindy was, but a certain shipment of them will be sold in store at Harrods. I think its in-store only for Harrods, and online for the Disney Store.

That sucks! If harrods was making the set exclusively for their store, then I don't think it's that bad since its expected of them to glam up their dolls for inflated prices, but I guess Disney is starting this trend themselves.

Oh, I was just browsing eBay, and I came across this listing for frozen fever Elsa!? How do these people guarantee that they'll get the doll?! They must have connections with a cast member or something.
And one more thing, this person is guaranteeing them that he will get the dolls.

There are eBay sellers who will try and sell anything, even if before they have the item in hand. I know a lot of people who wanted Wedding Cinderella bought "presale" listings before she was even available and had their dolls arrive safe and sound, but it just sounds like a bad idea to me to buy anything before the seller actually has what they offer. :(

I just find it weird that they can basically guarantee the doll. I'm so nervous about getting the frozen fever Elsa though. I already came up with a lot of worst case scenarios! Lol!

Technically, they're not allowed to guarantee the doll. According to eBay's rules, the listing must include the words "pre-order" or "pre-sale," something to let the buyers know that it's not a guarantee. And then, should the seller fail to obtain the item, they're supposed to give the money back. eBay has a money-back guarantee in place for this reason.

And just so you know, you can report the people who's listings do not follow the guidelines set up by eBay. Last year, I found a listing for the Designer lithographs that was guaranteed to be delivered BEFORE the release date and without the "pre-sale" label. I did report them and the listing was immediately removed by eBay.

It had the words guarantee and refund, but what was eye catching was that they could practically guarantee the doll. I just find it a bit strange, but it's expected.

Guys... I understand that we can all be restless sometimes, but Radio Disney Club is the cause of most of our problems.
They stress fans out and they reveal products that Disney is not ready to reveal yet. And by doing stuff like that, they are angering Disney and making them limit the information revealed.

I'm not a big fan of that website because it's basically doing 100% what DisneyStore doesn't want them to do. Disney plans these events ahead of time. They plan when and how to announce new products. Believe it or not, it's someone's job to look at the calendar and figure out the best way to announce these dolls. So when RDC decides to randomly steal DisneyStore's thunder, chaos ensues.

I suspect the reason why Disney hasn't announced Jasmine and Aladdin is because they don't want to stress people out. They know that everyone is worrying about the LE dolls coming out next week and they don't want more crap to be thrown to the fan. They work hard to plan these out. Is the set coming out next week? I highly doubt it!
Also, what private links? Disney releases LE items in store before they do it online... Everyone has access to the codes as long as they have their receipt!

Stop reposting links and images from RDC. It's doing anyone any favor. And honestly... If private facebook groups have links, what difference is it going to make now? They've probably had links for every release and I don't think anyone's had trouble with past releases unless you slept through the release!

Also one last thing... I'm getting tired of those: "OMG, the doll is not out yet and there's an eBay listing!"... Let's just avoid those posts. :)

If I remember correctly, RDC is just a fan site and should be taken as such. They were plenty wrong about other dolls such as Hans, and no one should be freaking out. Sometimes they source from other fan sites. We'll see the dolls when we see them, and Disney will release them when they feel like it at whatever price they want.

IMO, this is not RDC or anyone else's fault aside from Disney. Disney can't release a 250 LE doll set and NOT cause a lot of stress - and that's something they KNOW by now. Further, by blocking early access to the information to help make an educated decision about whether we even like the dolls, they make it so much more unpleasant. They're basically saying

"hey, want to fork over a whole lot of money for a doll set you won't even be able to look at before it's sold out? If you're a lucky one, and you probably won't be (it probably takes more than luck at these numbers), you'll get a whole half second to look at the dolls before you fork over your cash!"

...Gee I can just imagine the enthusiasm of the die hard Aladdin fans, what a great way to release an item for them! I mean who doesn't like that kind of situation to be in?

For me it's not that personal, this time, because I don't care for their wedding outfits and Aladdin is in my top 5, but not my #1 movie. I'm even content enough to never set eyes in person on a Red Jasmine and still be completely satisfied with my collection. But it's a crappy approach. One of a string of them, lately. I hate to sound overly negative because there's a lot I do like lately, like I really love the whole H&V collection, I think they're gorge. But I'm not impressed the way that they're releasing dolls. I guess I should say "ways" since there isn't too much consistency. I really do think at this point LEs in triple digits for Disney dolls is just unkind, and pointless. And not making announcements is lame. LAME. Someone posted a video that Disney had made for the Designer Princesses. Now that was how you announce some limited edition dolls. Not "Surprise!" By the time you read the word surprise, the set was sold out! You're welcome and have a magical day!"

if you live in EUROPE, we have release in store and online the same day. Suddenly it's not so easy anymore. So nobody in EUROPE has access to any code. And our codes are different than the US one , so we can't use the US codes.

So maybe it's easy to order in USA, but it's an hell to order in EUROPE

Sooooooo many dolls the year! I just hope the site will survive on 3rd November especially with all the tsum tsum coming out. I'd hate to be a tsum tsum and doll collector on that day, it must be pretty stressful. Throw pins in the mix too and that's an early grave.

Me too, but there are always kind people on this forum and other pages who are more than happy to share item numbers when it comes time to order online (because of where I live going to a store is not an option). I am very, VERY nervous about getting this Elsa, but I've decided not to stress about it. I still believe that if you are in line when the local store opens or ready to click on links by 12 AM PST, you'll be able to get her just fine. :)

Will 17" Jafar be hard to get considering it's only limited to 2,500?

If you are awake and ready to click on links at 12 AM PST, I think it will be fairly easy. 2500 is a low number, but not as many collectors buy male dolls or villains to begin with. Going to the store might be a little different since different stores receive different numbers of each doll, but if you arrive by a certain time then I would think they'd have at least a few of him. :)

If you do decide to try for him I wish you the best of luck!

Question: The nearest Disney Store to me is roughly 2 hours away from me, and I was thinking of trying for the FF Elsa on the 3rd, would it even be worth it for me to drive all the way up there as I would have to be pretty early anyway right? Am I just better off online in this case? I'm torn.....

amen to this!!! because in europa it is a true hell. the US has no idea even peter pan was sold out fast in the eu. we have more collectors then america and less dolls so amen to this

I just got my Jasmine doll and I LOVE her..unfortunately UPS damaged my box. Does anyone have any experiences with this and what Disney does in these cases?

Wait, you got her all ready? Doesn't UPS usually hold off on delivering shipments until release day?

It varies from area to area. In one city they might deliver your package early and they will hold it until a specific date in another. For example, back when the new Kingdom Hearts 2.5 game was coming out, some people who ordered the collectors edition were getting it a week or so early, while others weren't allowed to have it delivered until the day it was released. I was one of those unlucky people that had to wait despite the fact that it was sitting at my local UPS warehouse for the entire weekend. Its ridiculous.

Take a pic of the damage and upload it to the web so you can provide an image link to Disney when describing your problem. Then just contact them through the normal disney store website customer service link. I'm sure they will help resolve that issue. They just helped me resolve a not a damage shipment, but manufacture defect....I was pleased. Takes about 48 hours to hear anything though.
