Get Pepared, Designer Villains!!!!!
Thanks! Found it:

Because we anticipate a devishly high demand for the Disney Villains Designer Collection dolls, each participating Disney Store location will select Guests at random who will be able to purchase a doll. Here's how it will work:
-Each Monday beginning Sept. 10th and ending Oct. 15th each participating DS location will make available one new limited release doll from the collection.
-Vouchers will be distributed between 12pm and 1pm local time. At approx. 1:10pm, at an area designated outside the DS (see cast member for specific location), the names of each guest selected for the opportunity to puchase a doll will be announced.
-To be eligible, you must be at least 18 years old, be present to submit a voucher and for voucher selection, and present a valid photo ID to purchase a doll.

I was talking to some traders that are addicted to villains and they say that there are pictures of a 10 pin surprise release set of pin that could come out this month or next this is what they are saying I'm hoping it's true

WHAT!? Oh man! We gotta find these pictures... :anxious:

But what would the other 4 pins be?

I don't really get how all this will work. DS employees will give out the vouchers that guarantees you to buy a doll to random people??? In any case you need to befriend them so you can guarantee to get the voucher. Any idea if the Online sale will work as always?

is it better buying them online or at the store?

I am assuming they will do something similar to what was done for the designer princess dolls, offer each one for sale online around midnight each week. If you don't want to hassle the reported random selection process for the stores, try online and if there is a problem and you are unsuccessful with the order, go to the store.

I really do hope that I manage to get my hands on Maleficent or the Evil Queen.
I'll have to try and get them online, I don't exactly like the way they're doing it in the store.
I'll have to mark the dates in my filofax. Of course, Maleficent is coming out a week before I'm buying my new SLR.
Perhaps I'll buy Maleficent for Christmas and put it anyway until then.

That's kind of silly that they will do raffles at the stores. I'm glad I don't have my heart set on any of the dolls as I'm awful when it comes to raffles

I might try for the queen of hearts, but I'll only give it a shot online. Seeing the turnout our small store got for the designer princesses, I don't see us having a shot at the raffles.

A rumored pin set? oh no!

My only option is to try online for the Maleficent doll. There no longer are any Disney Stores in my area. :( I'd rather order online anyways, though, since I couldn't ever tolerate the hassle at the stores for this kind of release.

If there are pins as well, I'm going to have to have the Maleficent one for sure! Oh my!!:anxious:

The manager at my disney store said that the location outside the disney store would be right outside the disney store(at the entrance) and they will raffle the names of the guest and they will be able to purchase the dolls.

Wow I'm happy I don't live in the usa or even interested to buy a doll... Because with a such system, the ebay price will be crazy... I can feel it already. This won't stop re seller to try to get them and they ll have a higher reason to put the price even higher because they are so hard to get.

Totally agree with you! I'm kinda shocked by how they will manage this. They could go to a Random costumers who doesn't even have the intention to buy one or doesn't even have the money to get it. But in the other hand, Re sellers are so easy to identify, unfriendly men in their twenties-thirties, and usually hang out in a group of 5-6 of the same people. That's the only reason I might think Disney decided to do this, to avoid resellers, and as I said before, if you're a frequent costumer, Staff members will most likely know you and you'll be guarantee with your doll :)

BTW I really like Gothel's new picture on the brochure. Thanks for posting!

First off, hi everyone! New here and happy to be a part of this community! Been reading since the last go round with the Princess dolls. :) I love the Villains dolls as well and hope to get them.

Alex555, I went to my store tonight and the CM was very helpful in explaining it to me. It's not a case of them giving vouchers to random people, or people they are familiar with. You have to be 18 and show up between 12pm and 1pm on each Monday to put your name down as wanting a doll. They are putting all the names into one raffle container, and at 1:10pm, they'll come outside the store and randomly draw names until all dolls they have are accounted for. So, if done correctly, no one has an advantage going in, no matter who they know or what time they get there (as long as its between 12 and 1). She said it should be the same policy at all stores.

She also said it was done to keep people from lining up early (and really from forming a line at all), prevent fights, etc.

I know some people aren't happy about this because they could and would camp out well in advance, but to me this sounds like a better idea all around. Too many variables last time with different mall doors opening, people running to the stores, security being called, etc.

Does anyone have a list of the stores worldwide that will be stocking the dolls?
The more I look at those photos the more I want at least one of them.
There's no way that I'll get to my local Disney Store on a Monday, though I might be able to find someone who's in the area if they are stocking the dolls in my local store. So it looks as if online would be my best bet.

The PDF the Disney Store blog provided is here: http://aimg.disneystore.com/content/ds/document/DVDC_Store_List.pdf

I don't know if that includes the non-U.S stores though. For some dopey reason, they didn't bother to sort the locations out by state, or even put them in alphabetical order.

Question: Do you think these dolls will really be THAT popular?

The Designer Princess dolls were pretty popular during and shortly after the releases, but now most of the dolls can now be bought for reasonable prices (with the exception of Ariel). And they all ranged in edition sizes from 4000-8000.

The Designer Villain dolls are all LE 13,000.

My reasoning that these dolls won't be as "crazy" as the Designer Princesses...

If you can currently purchase a LE 6000 Mulan doll for $70-100 (meaning people are not clamoring to get this doll...as she can be bought for almost retail price), do 7000 MORE people than that really want a Designer Ursula doll? My guess is no...but maybe I am underestimating the Villain fans.

I remember during the Designer Princess release a ton of parents saying "I am getting these dolls for my daughter". Sometimes they even needed more than one doll for EACH daughter. I just don't see parents coming out in droves to purchase villain dolls...because I'm sure the kids want the "pretty princess" dolls.

Again, maybe I am underestimating the Villain fans and these dolls will be wildly popular, but I just don't see it happening. I have been all about dolls lately, and I am not planning on getting any of these. But I am also a Princess collector and figure my money would be better spent on an older LE 17" doll.

I do applaud Disney Store for trying to put a less stress-inducing system into place for those that wish to purchase them in the stores. I just don't know if the turnout is going to be that ridiculous...I just think about the edition size of 13,000 and don't really see these dolls being an instant sell-out.

I thought the same thing of the Princesses release. When I saw LE 8000 I thought the dolls would be around a long time. Of course I was going by "Pin Collecting" standards. The Doll Collecting world is a lot bigger and More intense lol I do think it was good of Disney to raise the LE size that much, I just hope it's popular enough for ONE MORE Designer series!!!!! :D

I just hope that this new system takes some stress off of the CMs who work at the Disney Store. If the retail system is clearly communicated to the local populace and the name randomization process is administered completely in the public eye, there should be no question about fairness. I still forsee that they will get a lot of flack from the people who do not get their names selected. Poor CMs! :(

It all sounds kind of crazy but then I remember Dollmageddon 1 and think, actually, something needs to be done and hope it works! I'm still wavering wildly on these dolls which I didn't for the Princesses, maybe as I don't see them as true reflections of the characters appearances, but perhaps I'm also hopeful that something better will be coming next year! I'm actually more interested in the diaries etc for this set, a hopeless dream being in the UK! I was helped by a forum member last year to get the princess diaries but she is AWOL these days so expect I will be ebaying this time!
