Maybe it's just me, but DPF is running incredibly slow again these past few days. It's back to what it used to be like before Goofy's fundraiser where it often goes into a "503 Temporarily Unavailable" screen and every page loads so slowly. Sometimes it posts posts after I post them but doesn't tell me so after I click the "Post Reply" button a few more times, about 5 minutes later it brings me to a page that says it already posted it. I don't understand what is happening but is this problem mine alone? It's quite annoying :lol:

 
Definitely not your problem alone. It took me all day yesterday to send 2 pms. And I get the 503 error every other page I click on.
 
You are not alone! I hate it! Trouble posting.... Super slow loading pages... Error pages..... Been spending more time on Facebook because of it.
 
Okay so it's every single person who posted so far...any idea why? I haven't noticed a whole bunch of traffic to the site as of late. I mean, there wasn't anything huge imo to garner a mass influx of people so I wonder what the problem might be

And YES Nettlejeanne, I've spent more time on the FB page since it loads quicker haha :lol: However, I find I like it better on DPF ^_^ just my opinion though.
 
yeh me also...i wish there was more info from the MODS as too what the status of updating the server is/was or maybe i just didnt see it? i often do not go into the FORUM button i mearly do whats new alot. I think i miss crap that way. Yo Kupo im in NYC tomorrow )fri) all evening if you wanna meet for a drink or something. i cant go look at our matches cause thats down also. Anyway let me know
 
I'm in NJ so I won't be in NYC until Saturday but even then I'm busy all day Also, I'm not allowed to drink at my age yet :lol: Can't even get into a bar I'll see you at a CJDPT even though soon ^_^
 
It's been pretty unbearable over the past 3-4 days. I know I've pretty much given up on posting on the Epcot Mystery game after having re-typed an entry multiple times (loooong entry), to find that the page loads without my entry... Super frustrating!!
 
Extremely slow. I also have been receiving/sending a lot of unintentionally blank messages. Like, I will type up a reply and hit send, and it will say it sent, but I will receive a reply saying I didn't send anything. I also have received said blank messages! Wondering if this happens to anyone else?
 


Nope you didn't miss anything... The MODs have made a few comments, but never any post from the owners as to their plans if any for the money they received... They did a small band-aid form of fix shortly after the fundraiser, but as we all see it hasn't really worked.... We were told by Grim at one point that we raised enough to fund dedicated servers for two years, but that was the last time anything was ever mentioned... There was also talk of moving forward with DPF Gold membership to continue funding site in future... Again that talk has not been mentioned since Grim's comment the one time...

Frustrating is an understatement, especially when you have limited time to take care of pending sales or trades and you cannot even access your inbox for an hour or more at a time...
 
Ditto with the issues.

I was having more success posting and viewing on my phone than I was on my laptop. go figure. it was not my computer or the internet. and it has lasted about 3-4 days. Yesterday was the absolute worst. couldnt get ON DPF most of the day.

Noticed I am spending more time on pintalk. gotta get my fix somehow right?
 

Never been on Pintalk.... Do they have server issues as well??? Maybe it's time to give up on our beloved DPF as it seems the owners have... Do they even collect pins any longer or is this site more of a nusance to them now???

What are the members like on that site and how many members here are members of both???

I never thought I would see the day that I gave up on this site but what can you do if the owners are not going to put any effort into their site why should us members...
 

Lots of people are members of both dpf and Pintalk and more every day.

After that huge fundraiser a lot about this is frustrating to say the least... I assume they are busy with their lives but then maybe it is time to pass on the torch to someone who is around more/has more time for this?
 

I have been thinking the same thing. Perhaps a tech savvy member who has more time to devote to the forum should be allowed to take control of its day to day operations. I've seen this happen on many other forums I have posted on in the past.

Well I just registered on that other site... I guess we will see what the future holds for DPF... I would gladly take over the IT side of things or better yet perhaps buy the site from the owners if their interest in it has gone... All I know is that something needs to be done and they have the finances and means to do it...
