Having fallen asleep standing up, Chip is awoken by a text message from his phone. Chief Louie has invited everyone to breakfast at the Crystal Palace, as he spots several detectives already heading in that direction. "Coffee sounds good, preferably Hazelnut."

Chip proceeds through adventureland, taking note that the Magic Carpet ride has been closed for refurbishment. As he walks through the adventureland gateway, the music has been turned off so the normal jungle beat is missing as he passes through. Up ahead in the Castle hub area, he notices clean-up crews doing last minute details. He proceeds to take a right, crossing another bridge which brings him to Crystal Palace.

Entering through the glass doors, Chip spots MPH and several other detectives sitting at a table. Chief Louis is at the buffet, grabbing a large array of fruit. Chip sits down next to MPH and orders his coffee from one of the yellow apronned hostesses. "I wonder what will happen next."

OOC- Lucan, not that it took away from the storyline but those stores you mentioned I don't believe are found on Mainstreet USA in WDW's Magic Kingdom.

Tink flies over to the chrystal palace and sits down by MPH to compare notes. Tink sips her tea and nibbles on a danish. she looks around at the other detectives to be sure everyone is there but notices a few are not there yet.
 
Kaa glides out into the early morning sunlight, the glare is blinding at first and he soon regrets having left his Rayban John lennon special edition shades in the Reptilmobile. He spots Anton and Rafiki sitting outside, "Grrreeeat" he thinks to himself, now they all want to go eat!!
He grabbs his Wombat spec V special edition phone and speaks at it.The phone was a special gift from the Mad doctor, View attachment 4657
before his demise. It not only is a voice activated telephone, video camera <with snakevision thermagraphic playback> it also serves as a wireles/voice controlledl computer with satellite internet access via webcard, and allows him to play Angry Birds while waiting for everyone else to eat. While still a prototype, it did serve its function, very very well.

Kaa spoke to the Wombat spec V "Text Lab. Subject "Results on Feather" Bodyof message. "Gentleman please make a special comparision to the found feather from the murder scene and the feathers on Bueregard the POTC parrot."
"Also please retry to aquire any film of either the entrance or egress of the intruder at the POTC ride and time index film prior to Jasmines remains discovery at The Flying Carpets."

As he enters trying hard to comprehend Louies trusted comment? Did he or didnt he trust him? Whatever that answer was would be followed immediatly , regardless of which one is replied with, by a resounding -- WHY??

He sees MPH sitting inside the dinning room, hears a very sleepy Chip coming thru the doorView attachment 4652 followed by the rest of the menagerie of detectives.

"Sssplendid, they get eggsss, bacon and toassst, but in a place where a moussse isss the ruler of all, where is a sssnake going to get a good breakfassst ? "
He thinks about the assembelage of detectives,
Several rodents, several birds, couple of monkeys, 3 or 4 humans<ewwww!> and those Wonderland creatures, why it could be a veritable smorgasbord!!!!

He nods at the gathered slueths and procures his coffee and waits for the sure to come nights debriefing, and knowing CL; some insipid get-to-know-each-other-and share-a-little of yourself workshop that will shortly be started, Never mind the Chipmunk is going to drown in his oatmeal from lack of sleep, or that our erstwhile capitain CL has banannna strings stuck to his chest furs, our long night is far from done.

The server brings him his coffee and while staring at the Tink and Basil combo walking up the ramp into the resturaunt he takes a sip of his java.

"PPPPFFFFTTTTTTTT," he spews the hot liquid from his mouth, spraying some of the table " arrrrrrggghhhhhh," he spits, and with a tongue that size he spits far and loudly,View attachment 4659

Iago is back. I'm bushed having just flown in from Washington, DC, and I think some of those congressmen snatched my beautiful feathers. No matter; I'm famished...and intrigued. What's this about a bloody feather found at the scene? Do you mean bloody, like Prince William would say or bloody, like, squawk, well, like my owner might say?
 
Aurora listens to Kaa's explanation but to her it still doesn't add up. Even if Kaa did "help" Jasmine in the past it makes no sense why he would be hypnotizing her today. Aurora decides she will check with the other Princesses about the rest of his story later as she does not believe a word of it. She is going to make sure to keep an eye on Kaa.

Aurora sits down next to Louie in the boat. She listens to Louie speaks when she fels her eyes . . . . Aurora suddenly awakens to find herself sitting next to King Louie. She feels a little strande although she is not quite sure what just happened. Aurora decides that she must just be tired and shakes it off. Breakfast sounds like a good idea. Aurora follows the others to Crystal Palace.
 
Pumba can always eat so starts to head towards Crystal Palace with the rest of the detectives.

"I could do with some breakfast! I need to be careful what I order though it has gone badly wrong before."
 
Chip is struck awoke with the feeling of a scalding hot liquid being splashed onto this face. As he groggily comes to senses, he is quick to see the direction in came from and eyes the coffee dripping from Kaa's mouth. "Oh dear, let me get that for you," exclaims one the hostesses as she rushes to clean up the mess from the beverage. Another CM gives Chip a cloth napkin so that he can clean off. Wiping the coffee of his face, Chip looks down his oatmeal to see it ruined, drenched in a flood of coffee. Now wide awake and smelling like Nescafe, he glares at Kaa annoyingly. "It doesn't look I'll be eating breakfast."

Kaa moves forward, and in a genuine sign of respect he keeps his head lower than Chips to show the stalwart chipmunk two important things, One the latte shower was not intentional or approved of,even by the one who speweth!
The second and equally important thing to Kaa was to show the diminutive detective he was respected. kaa knew the java monsoon was distastefull, and he absolutly wished to apologize as a gentleman should.

"Please excussse that my dearessst ssir, It was never ment to slight you, I jussst couldnt keep that horrendeousss stuff in my maw one more inssstant itsss Nesssscaffe!!
I really, really, really, am sssorry, I have sssome gassstly experiencesss with Nessscafee, gassstrointessstinal difficultiesss Im sssure you neither wisssh to hear about or expossse yourssself to ever, esspecially after haveingss sssurvied allow me to tell you!!!"
Allow me to offer my mossst heartfelt apologiesss, had this been Kona, Sumatara, or even a decent French Vanillia, I would surely never have reacted that way!!!"
Kaa having made his apologies returns to his seat, quite convinced that soon CL will begin wth the evenings entert....debriefing, yes Debriefing.
The linens replaced and the chairs righted, the Rock python sits and awaits his boss and the hope and prayer that now that Anita Bryant is gone maybe at least the orange juice will be good and orders a glass.
The orange of the juice almost but not quite, matches his eyes for the moment.
 
*Chessie, who had been watching the exchange in the POTC attraction between the detectives, particularly King Louie and Aurora, and is vastly amused when Aurora awakens against King Louie with no clue as to how she got there. However, when King Louie suggests that everyone head to Crystal Palace, Chessie disappears off the boat and joins the detectives for breakfast. The Cat quietly gives Kaa a nod and grin of approval as he takes his plate and joins everyone already seated and having breakfast. He isn't sure whether or not to believe Kaa, but he loves the added potential for chaos ... and wonders how the group dynamics are going to change now that one of the members can fall asleep on a spoken phrase. Chessie's thoughts are interrupted when Kaa takes a sip of coffee and spits it out abruptly. Chessie quickly disappears and reappears to avoid getting hit with the stream of coffee.*

Chessie (to Kaa, in an innocent tone of voice): 'Didn't care for the coffee?'
 
MPH sits at the table eating dinner when Kaa spits coffee on Chip's face. "Are you OK Chip?" MPH asks. Chip, annoyed, responds in the affirmative. MPH was just about to head to get seconds and gets Chip another bowl of oatmeal...and some bacon because everything is better with bacon.
 
As Chip is drying off, he is surprised to see Kaa bow right in front of asking for forgiveness. Chip in the surreal twist of events slightly makes eye-contact with the serpent, the Chipmunk's demeanor changing from being agitated to being sympathetic. "Don't worry about it, I agree that instant coffee can be horrible. Maybe after this is done, we can head to the Main Street Bakery. I know they serve freshly brewed coffee and they have a nice hazelnut blend too."

Chip spots MPH coming back with seconds and finds his ruined bowl of oatmeal replaced with a new one. MPH then now sits down, now with an even larger platter of bacon in front of him than before. "You'd probably eat Bacon even if it was served on Ice Cream."

Taking a bite of his oatmeal, Chip begins to wonder when CL will start the de-briefing. Thoughts turned to the benefactor for their meal, Pooh, he would like to give his complements.
 
Seeing everything wrapping up at PotC, Toad decides to take the Redhead out to breakfast. He carries her to the rowboat and paddles back to the dock where his car was parked. He places her in the back seat and races back through the queue and off to the Crystal Palace.

Toad races through the front door with just an "Oops" as the door smashes and pulls up to a table right near everyone else.
"I need some coffee!! WOOHOO!"
 
Seeing the detectives hurry out of the pirate attraction, Anton Ego slowly rises from his seat and begins to follow the group. He over hears chatter of clues found while riding the attraction, so draws again his notebook from his pocket. He scribbles a few notes down and approaches the Crystal Palace. Pulling a host to the side, Anton Ego makes it clear that he enjoys to dine alone, and is given a single table away from the group. But still close enough to observe. He stares at a chef leaving the kitchen who instantly recognizes him and whips around to head back through the doors in which he came in. Anton is promptly brought his 'morning drink' which the staff been trained before-hand on how to prepare. Two raw eggs, a dash of IDOL vodka (specially imported), juices and garnished with a strip of bacon.

* Inside the Crystal Palace the Chief notices that some early morning guests have started to arrive for the Character Breakfast. His group is ok as the section they are seated in has been blocked off for privacy.*

*With bananas in hand Louie begins to address the group.*

"Well another day is starting here in the Magic Kingdom and guests are arriving. This is going to make it harder and harder to investigate as some of us have fans. I encourage you to try your best for normalcy, but remember you are here for a job. All we have so far is a missing lion cub, a murdered princess, a note that makes little sense and a bloody feather. Speaking of the bloody feather I do have some information from the lab. It seems that ALL of the blood on the feather matches our victim. That is no help. Also the blood has stained the feather so bad it is difficult to see anything besides the color red, but they are still working on it."

*Louie peels a banana and pops it in his mouth.*

"I encourage you to have a hearty breakfast as I am not sure when time will be set aside for another meal. I cannot say how dangerous this will be, but just imagine as if it were Sher Khan on your trail and then you might take precautions." *Louie leans toward Aurora and gives a wink and whispers." "Don't worry I will protect you." *It seems our resident Chief Orangutan has taken a fancy to a certain princess.*

*Just then a waiter comes around the corner carrying a large silver covered dish and sets it on the table without a word in front of the detectives.*

Aurora listens as King Louie begins the morning briefing. It's too bad that the feather has not revealed any further clues. Hopefully they will be able to figure out more about it. King Louie addresses the idea of breakfast and then whispers to Aurora. Aurora is a little taken back by Louies comment. She isn't quite sure how to respond and so she quickly turns her attention to her menu.

Aurora is a little hesitant as she looks over the breakfast menu. She decides on a bagel and a bowl of fresh fruit.
She looks up to place her order with the waiter as he places a silver tray down on the table. She stares and wonders who will be the brave soul to open the tray . . .
 
Abu shrugs apologetically and dashes off the stage as fast as his little legs can carry him. Carpet quickly whooshes after Abu and scoops him up. They zoom over to the Jungle Cruise area to hide and catch their breath. Abu them examines his booty more closely and sees the pirate was right about everything being fake. Abu then dumps the ill gotten fakes into the nearest planter just as his phone rings. Listening to the message, he hears something about food at Crystal Palace. Hopping on Carpet they make a beeline there and make it just as the first dish is being presented.
 
*Chessie looks up from his breakfast as King Louie updates the detectives on the current status of the situation. King Louie hasn't told them anything unexpected, but it still is important for everyone to be on the same metaphorical page. Chessie raises an eyebrow as a waiter comes over and presents a covered silver platter in front of King Louie.*

Chessie (pointedly, to King Louie): 'I know that Disney is in the market of granting wishes, but didn't you wish for sleep, not something ... or someone ... to eat? Although, if you didn't order it, caution should be exercised there is might be something in that entree that will make you sleep a little longer than you'd want ... .'

*Chessie looks at the covered dish with an enigmatic grin on his face, wondering when/if King Louie is going to open it.*
 
Basil is busy scarfing down some omelette (with extra cheese, of course) when he notices the tray being brought out and set in front of Louie. He turns to Tink and says, "better be ready with some water or smelling salts. Remember what happened the last time he lifted the cover off of a serving tray?"

*OOC - I need some clarification if it's okay. Kaa explained the earlier security footage as it actually being him with Jasmine. Is that the official explanation, or were you going somewhere else with that, Wally? I had made notations as it not being Kaa and that the killer was trying to misdirect us. Just don't want to get the clues confused at this early stage.
 
OOC*KAAs explaination is not official from me, but it works fine in the base of the story. When I read it I just took it to mean that yes he was with Jasmine at some point before her death. It doesn't mean he was with her when she died or even near the scene when she died. Does that make sense?
 
*Kaa opens the lid and Louie gasps in surprise.*
"Ok now not funny. Who ordered the angel hair pasta with meat sauce for breakfast? "* No one responds.* "Wait a minute... no one touch that dish! There is something funny about that pasta. It is too shiny and look at how much of it there is. That meat sauce looks strange also. It is really red and a bit raw and chunky. Maybe we should get the food critic over here."
 
Anton Ego walks over to the main table as a mystery dish is delivered and uncovered to reveal angel hair pasta and a... red sauce. Pulling a fork from his back pocket, he scoops up some of the meat sauce, and places it in his mouth.

The other detectives stare as the foreigner chews silently, swishes the food around in his mouth, and swallows. Sitting in the edge of their chairs waiting for an answer, Anton Ego puts his fork down on the table and pulls another notebook out of his pocket. He scribbles a few notes before looking up and realizing that all the eyes in the room lay on him....
 
The snake flicks out his tongue,his eyes slit just a bit, and he looks up at Louie and the others at the table.

"Im certain not many of you here ssshare my dietary habitsss, ssso you may have to trussst me, oh itsss that phrassse again isssnt it, on thisss,
"But ThAT" , he motioned to the silver platter with the" :Meatsauce and pasta: , "THAT isss not marinara, or even really really rancid Ragu!!!"
