PrincessxJasmine89's Rapunzel Custom Patterned Lanyards

You dont want to make them too thick. The pins would not stay attached very well.

Hmm... the pic on that website isn't quite like what I'm using, I guess there are lots of other kinds of twill webbing I don't know about! Mine is a lot thinner, kinda like this:

Edit: whoops! Just saw your new pic... that is more like it! Thank you for being such a big help!

Maybe just Pascals' feet - after all the rest of him just blended in with the lanyard - that shouldn't cause any copyright problems

Would love to see a picture of one. An idea for Beauty and the Beast could be like a dark blue with stars or maybe something with books on it or maybe a green with the little white flower (can't remember the name) that she blows and the seeds fly away.

Hah! That is beyond adorable- thank you for the great ideas! I will have to put your name on these somewhere LOL, as credit for your awesome ideas!

Somewhere in virtually every sofware package I have written (I'm a software designer - computers) there is either a command or status display with my initials

Little Mermaid - a few strands of kelp or sea weed / sea shell with just sabastians legs showing / a single tenticle tip and a little ink / a simple treasure chest with pins in it (which might work for Aladdin too)

Jasmine - a few Tiger stripes or a lamp with a wiff of smoke or just the corner tassel of the Magic Carpet

for most of the Princesses - just their crown - I think most of the designs are fairly simple

Wall-E - Robot tracks or spraying fire extinguisher or a little plant

Bambi - Bunny tail and a daisy or two (Flowers favorites) / a bunny nose for sniffing out pins

Snow White - a few gems or a red Apple

Pocahontas - a few fall colored leaves

Sleeping Beauty - small piece of dragons fire / a few thorn branches / small section of the spinning wheel spindle with the needle tip

Ariel maybe some bubbles? maybe and a few dinglehoppers and a snarfblat? maybe on the back of the lanyards on the part around your neck you people could choose som favorite quotes of theirs!? am I getting carried away with this?

These lanyards sound absolutely beautiful. You must be a very creative person - I wish I had the patience to take up sewing!

I have no idea what I'd want my dream lanyard to look like in terms of pattern or character or whatever... but I am very excited to see what you come up with for everyone else.

Bump for an update!

Went to the haberdashery today, and I found this ribbon in 25mm and 40mm for a possible Brave lanyard:

Uhhh, pictures are huge! I'm sorry!

And these cotton webbings, in these colours in 25mm:

and a dark navy blue colour, perhaps for other themes. They had this kind of material in 50mm in white, that I can dye to match anyone's jumbo lanyard requirements.

Picture of my half finished Rapunzel lanyard in a couple hours or so! <3

I think it would probably qualify as fan art, so you'd be okay. I'm not a lawyer, but I'm fairly certain that as long as you aren't mass producing these and/ or outright copying something (ie, tracing Disney artwork) you're in the clear.

These sound great! We both love Jasmine, and I think she'd be a great theme for a lanyard! Not to sure what could be on it though....haha. Post pictures when you can I can't wait to see and I'd love to buy!

Disclaimer: these are some of the worst photos I have ever taken... EVER! The colours are quite a bit off because I used unnatural lighting (it's late over here), so, after 2 1/2 hrs work, here we go... I give you: a 1/4 of my Rapunzel lanyard! I still have a lot of tidying up to do on the stitching, so don't worry that it looks very messy as this is nowhere near finished, and if you ever get one from me it won't look anything near as messy as this one! Plus it'll likely be more detailed and thicker, as this is made from flimsy-ish cotton twill Sorry for the rant, but I'm not proud of this! I tried to made it look 'handmade', but instead it just turned out too messy  I am SO seriously nervous to post these as they aren't something I'd like to put my name on, but here we go:

I used a cotton twill, and tie dyed it with a lavender hand dye to try and get the right kind of purple, and also to try and achieve the kind of crinkly effect of the fabric on her dress... I used pastel purple and pink for the embellishments on the lanyard.
So yeah... I haven't added the ribbon to the reverse of the lanyard yet to hide the stitching on the back, but I will post a pic of the finished lanyard in the next couple of days! Thank you for looking! <3

Yay, another Jasmine lover! ^_^ I know, I was thinking about what I could do for her, but as of right now I'm still working on a theme for her... I definitely want to make a pretty lanyard for all my Jasmine pins though! Thank you for the comments! ^_^ <3

Gah this is gorgeous already! Love it!

I would be interested and would love to see a dark purple Mali one, with black ravens and/or dragons breathing fire Maybe you could do the full design 3/4th instead of all the way around and taper it off to create pin space on the bottom/front of the lanyard. That'd cut down your time and I'd feel less guilty messing up all your hard work, LOL.

Hey, that's actually a good idea! I was getting a little worried about whether the embroidery would snag w/ the nubs on the pins (or even just by pushing the pins through anyway), but I've done a couple of tests on mine and everything seems to be OK! Maybe people would like their names on the front of the lanyard instead?

The Tangled photos are awesome - the Embroidered pattern matches her dress pattern very closely and using the gold thread also makes it look like her hair!

Aw, thanks Steve! ^_^ It's quite rough around the edges, but it will do for my personal lanyard. I didn't actually use gold (it's pastel pink like the embroidery in her dress- but it sure does look gold in the pictures! ), but it's certainly another great idea from your end! I might work on a braided hair lanyard, using gold ribbon and thread, with little ribbon roses and flowers embroidered in like she wears them in the film. Not sure if this will be too decorative for a lanyard, though!
