Did you really mean $5000? Or was that a typo?

If he really says $5000, then I don't believe it.

If it was a typo, and was supposed to say $500, then I definitely do believe it.
 
If I was a Tangled collector I would drop that kind of money for it. Its never on eBay, its not on pin pics and its never at the park or any events. And think it about, how often do you see the others let alone the Rapunzel one? I wont doubt it if people saved up money for when it hit ebay

I would if I collected Tangled. I would pay $5,000 for a pin nobody has. My Grail is the Up marquee and you can ask Catburger about the things I told him I would do to get it. I'm that crazy lol!!
 
There was a thread on DPF about this r/c Rapunzel few days ago. My guess is that a lurker saw that and (s)he is just having a fun time :lol:

Okay, I believe you. I just thought maybe you were reading the price wrong (as I thought I had when I first saw it).

No judgement here. Everyone has a price. And some would certainly say I'm crazy for what I've paid for some of my pins.


However, I still do not believe that someone just straight up offered $5,000 for this pin. Did they really think the bidding would get that high? I just don't buy it. But like you said, we will probably never know for sure.
 
I highly doubt that it went for $5000... It's a scare tactic to hike up the price of it, that way when someone sees something cheaper than that they think it's a bargain... Also, very questionable seller... To be honest I love pins but not that much, even if you are a collector you know that in the long run it will not be a good investment, I have not seen a single pin sell over a $1000. If you fall for this scam then you my friend are not the smartest tool in the shed... Lol
 
I'm with Andres. It's nothing but a lie and a scare tactic, at best just to mess with people for (a sick idea of) fun, at worst to make the next person think nothing of paying $300 or something for it.

I would never spend that much money on a pin, no matter how much I wanted it. I always believe that if you want a pin that much, in the end it will come to you, with time of course. The reason why I think this is because I have bided on many pins from the USA and they have gone sky high and a few months/year later, I have been able to pick them up at reasonable prices on my other sites in Europe.
