I called in this morning to voice my concern about the 5 AM rule. I told the lady I was speaking with, that this rule will cause a rush to reach the front of the line, and probably result in injuries. At first, it seemed like she was reading from a script as she described why they chose the method they did. After a few minutes of my poking holes in the logic behind it, she actually lightened up and started agreeing with me. Then her personal opinions started coming out.

I was surprised to hear her say a few things that I am sure she was not supposed to... She said that the management is getting sick of pin releases and the problems they bring. She also told me that one of the main managers has actually been trying to cancel the pin trading program entirely for the last 6 months. I told her it sounds as though they are setting this pin release up for failure so they can have an easy reason to cancel future pin releases. She agreed with me 100 percent.

Such a shame that a select few are going to ruin it for everyone :/

Manager: "Man, I hate having a product that is so popular it sells out instantly. It's killing our revenue, and I can't stand it any more! I'm going to fight tooth and nail so we can just sell expensive ice cream to tourists, and thats it."

If they don't want crowds and craziness they just need to implement the online wristband like DLR has done.

I don't get it. Why don't they just make enough of them so everyone who wants one can have it??? I just want the ones I like for ME! I'm not out to profit from this... just to feed my addiction! Sheesh!

It's a double bladed sword. They make it an LE1000 and suddenly no one wants any and they can't even sell 150 of them.

I agree and don't understand why they don't. Glad I live in Fl. otherwise I'd probably be in the craziness that's going to go down.

looks like...as always...there is more to the story... Sum times ppl do just sit back and wait for things to go bad. In this managers mind, there will b a fight or sumthing crazy that will add to his want of no more pins at dsf.. here is the crazy part... its up to us the collectors to not do this stuff or make ppl hate traders in the 1st place.. Funny to see how it all comes back to how ppl act to others. Its not just Cm trouble.. Its not just LE 150 trouble..

The real trouble is... WE live in a time and place were 2 many ppl are out for them selfs. Long past are the days of holding doors open or saying thank you for things. I for one blame the lazy moms and dads that let tv or games raise there kids. If we all took the time to teach our kids right from wrong.... We would have less of this trouble and many other things wrong in the world. Its time to stop saying "just my bad kids " and learn..your bad kids are ur fault...the blame is at home..and can be fixed if we get back to telling kids how to treat others and sum good tuff love ... ;)

ps. sorry for rant and or grammar... if anyone needs help to understand me.. please just ask.. thank you

I called yesterday about a Stitch Sketch Series pin for basf . I spoke to a woman and wished her luck on this release . She said, that is why we hired security . I joked and said, you may need more than just security . She said, she had dozens of calls in regards to this release and was not looking forward to it . I again wished them luck .
After the hysteria with the 2nd wave of Designer Princess Dolls, I wouldn't set foot near that place .
I think of the WalMart incident, where a woman was trampled to death over a hot Christmas item on Black Friday .
Please if you are going , be safe !

Hollywood is a scary place to begin with. This just makes it even more frightening. I hope that people will be smart enough to leave their children at home so as not risk the safety of innocent children to make a few bucks.

I totally agree ! They are allowing you to line up at 5 AM , what time does the store actually open ?

They need to just release the DSF pins when they get them and not announce releases if they are going to the 5am rule or wristbands. Instead of the anticipation then they will all be surprise releases and people can post on here or facebook or we will all hear it thru the grapevine and we can go get them. This really sucks because all of the fun of pin trading is gone. I loved going to Disneyland and capming out for pins. We got to catch up will old friends at least once a month. The DSF is the last place that we could do this and now thats gone. They really should cancel the release Saturday and release them next week at a random time. I have been to many releases for many years and this is going to be bad. It's just not worth it. The quality of the DSF pins has gone downhill in recent months and these will probsbly be the same. The prices will be high and then as people start posting that the quality stinks the sellers will lower the prices. To the real collectors of Up I truly hope you get them. To the others good luck this is the beginning of the end of DSF pin releases.

@dizneyfanaddicts, I don't think that DSF should cancel the release on Saturday. People on the DSF Facebook page were commenting that they have already taken off from work and are driving for hours just for these pins. That would not be fair.

I think the online wristbands would be a good idea; it'd be fair and safe, especially for these LE 150 pins. The fact that there might be families with small children and even handicap people stampeding over for little pieces of metal is kinda sad!

Gosh, this is my first time going to one of these releases, and to think it'll probably be my last... :(

As one of the old dizpin group who still is an UP completist who searched and searched to get up to date with UP pins this release is a nightmare for me. I have someone trying for me and Im hoping for the best but until Saturday Im going to be a nervous wreck. Ive not concentrated and put alot of money into these UP pins to fall at this release lol

I dont know if there are many of the old group of UP collectors left as when Dizpins went I think many just disappeared. lol

chipdale123 you can have your own thoughts. All the poeple that have taken off work and are driving hours to get there WILL NOT get the pins. Some will, some won't. With 150 pins and the 5am rule this is going to be a joke. You can think what you want to think I've done this for 7 years now and the outcome will be a joke. Wristbands are pointless. DLR tried and miserably failed. As we all know wristbands are not even needed anymore at DLR. If this release is going to cause this much attention, then cancel the release and put them on the racks one morning next week. They will sell out fast, good news travels fast. Obviously, it is not going to get cancelled but that would have been a better alternative then hiring extra security and having problems. Or they could just let us camp out as always and everyone would happy. Then you can choose what day or time to show up. The ebay seller that has sold 6 sets total was planning on that until DSF made their world crash and burn. Six sets means six people and if they can manage that in a line a 5am more power to them.

To those people going to this event, please stay safe and remember that patience is a virtue. Good luck to you all, but please, after this release, no crying if you didn't get the pins. You know what you're going in to, and I'm sure there will be more than 150 people there at DSF. Just try to have some fun and be kind and courteous to one another. Let's not have a repeat of all the commotion with the Alice in Disneyland release last year. That was ridiculous.
