Hi everyone!
So like the title says:
Does the size of the pin traders delights pins put you off collecting/liking them?
I like the series, but the size of them really puts me off collecting them. They remind me of hidden mickeys being so small and having so many silver lines on such a small pin!
I got my first one in the post today and was slightly disappointed in the size of the pin: (I had never seen one in person before today!)
This is the picture from pin pics:

So what are your thoughts on PTDs?

It's not the size that is off-putting to me. I like small pins, and I've collected the DL GWP map sets, which had small pins. The Travel Company pins, which in the early years were small pins(they've gotten bigger now). PWP pins which are on the smaller side, and the previously mentioned Hidden Mickey pins. These are also GWP pins, so it totally and completely makes sense to me that they should be small.

What is off-putting to me, is that because they are DSF and LE300 then there seems to be a push to make them into something that they are not. Which is $30+ pins. And then people start complaining that they're too small. Yes,for $30 secondary market pins they are small, which is why as much as I like them I don't buy them. But that's the secondary market's fault. I don't want to see them changed because of secondary market considerations. They are PWP pins, so they should resemble a lot of other GWP/PWP type pins. Oh, and DSF needs to increase the edition sizes :)

I can relate.
I do like the pins and are a cute idea,
but I dislike the inconsistency of their size.
Example Rapunzel is a nice big size Vs. Mulan is tiny...
I just would like all of them to stick at the same size.

I think they are cute and I love the theme, If I didnt just collect hercules I think the fact that there are so many and low edition might put me off. However if a hercules one was relesed I would try my best to get it.

It isn't so much the size, as it is the detail. But DSF has done a pretty good job on detail. IMO

I think most are fine, but a few, like Cheshire on a stool and the new one, Mulan, they are kind of on the small side. Ray from PatF and Cruella were small. But Kevin, Rapunzel, Flower, Scrooge, and Peg were all decent size for a PTD.

Its a free pin, can't really argue about something that is free.

It's not really free. You could get pretty close to a 2 scoop sundae with all the toppings for aroudn $5. The PTD is $12. So the pin is $7 of the price. Also, most buy it for the pin, not the ice cream. Althought I equally enjoy both! The rainbow sherbet they have again is delicious!

I collect ptds but not all of them. The size does limit to what they should try to depict and sometimes they have gotten too aggressive with the designs, such as the aforementioned Jasmine and the new hook. They just barely pulled it off with the Mulan.

Nah, I love 'em. The size doesn't matter to me. But I'm only interested in the ones that fit my major collections; I don't collect all PTDs.

Remind me next time I see you to show you the love note I got on Facebook from a DPF member who thinks I'm out to get him or something. Guy tells me to kill myself and then says he'll pray for me in the same message. Uh

LOL. So glad I pointed it out (the text) in chat. Hilarious!

I also think that the size of these pins off puts me from most of them but you have to remember that these are essentially free pins that DSF gives out, if they were any bigger, DSF would charge $15 each and they'd sell on Evilbay for $60 minimum so the small size probably decreases a lot of things. That said, despite how small the pins are, they aren't small enough to deter me if one of my favorite characters was mixed in with some ice cream ;)

I love them. I love them all. Would I prefer they all be a similar size? Especially like the larger ones? Absolutely! But I'll take 'em however I can get 'em! I just love the common element of the ice cream!

I'm very happy with the PTDs and the size is fine with me. I love the variety of characters, which you can't find much of anywhere else. Some of them have been on the ugly side (some of the old Chip and Dale ones especially), but most are nicely done. I don't understand though, why so many people feel the need to collect ALL of them or NOTHING. I just get the ones I like. Also, it's really fun waiting to see what the next pin is. We all want our favorite characters!

I realise I answered this from an LE POV im now realising you may have meant the actual size. My bad xD
small pins are cute.

YES! Take Timothy Mouse for example, it is a decent design but because of its size it got all smushed. The only ones that I think are REALLY nice are Rapunzel and Pip.
