LE Character connection villains edition
Disney Pixar is for once Disney owned Pixar, but Disney is just Disney. Ralph is just Disney, not Pixar involvement. Woody & Buzz are Pixar with no Disney involvement (Disney just distributed).

Does that mean everything Pixar going forward from now will be Disney Pixar, because they own them, vs. just Pixar (like Woody & Buzz) being *before* Disney owned them? Am I reading you right there?

I didn't realize Pixar wasn't involved with Ralph; I just assumed because of CG.

Looks great... but again no King Candy! Getting annoyed... hehehe... yes... getting annoyed.

I agree. The worst part is I think the puzzle pins are really cool looking so if they made a King Candy one it would have looked awesome purely because of the shape alone :( It's okay though, a part of me is glad he isn't on the main villains roster because collecting him would become too hard then (considering he'd have like 15 pins coming out at the Villains event alone).

thats right.. fail :(

Don't blame yourself :P A lot of people confuse Brave as being Disney and WiR as being Pixar since they were kind of what the other company always does (Disney usually does princesses while Pixar usually does the life of inanimate objects when humans aren't around).

Could someone clarify the difference for me? Because I've never understood it... some movies say "Pixar" and some say "Disney Pixar" (as do the pins) and I thought Pixar was *owned* by Disney, because the Pixar movies all have a Disney logo at the beginning and have Disney pins made of them, and so... somebody help. What *is* the distinction exactly???

As far as I know, there really isn't a difference between "Pixar" and "Disney Pixar." Pixar is just a separate company, like Marvel or Lucasfilm, that Disney owns. It's just that Pixar is much more related to Disney than the other 2 given Pixar movies are very similar in theme to Disney movies. So Pixar movies are kind movies that are owned by both Pixar and Disney, like Brave. However, movies like WiR, that were made by JUST Disney, are solely owned by Disney, no Pixar is included. So while Brave, Up, Wall-E, etc. would be "Pixar" or "Disney Pixar" movies like Tangled, LM, and WiR would be only "Disney."

Don't know if that helps >_<

Yup. Most people think Ralph is Pixar because of the animation. Based on Paperman, I'm hoping Pixar leans more to the hand drawn look, which will leave people more confused! :)

Think about Chicken Little or Meet the Robinsons or even Rapunzel, none of those are Pixarish at all. They are straight Disney. I think Ralph trips people up because the story is very much like something Pixar would do.

I know it would make it harder but I really want King Candy in the main villain roster... I want more pins and merch... he is... just... so... awesome...

And I know a lot of folks get mixed up with WiR actually being a Disney movie rather than Pixar. I can understand this from the premise of the movie... but when you actually watch it... to me it doesn't seem like a Pixar movie at all. Definitely Disney. :)

I though the Ursula PTD was one of the fake PTDs that the dsf fan page made up

Oooh, Maleficent. I have garnered a little interest in her since D23 and seeing the Angelina Jolie adaptation and previews. That movie is going to be epic!

Wow, so many Villain pins coming out of the woodwork during the Villains event! All the hardcore villain lovers go to Florida and DSF does an Ursula and Jafar PTD, DLR has Villain connection pins, and WDI has new character's with sorcerer hats and have Lucifer, Lady Tremaine, Mim, and Cruella.

Don't worry, more King Candy pins will come out and eventually in a few years when there are enough of him and you were able to get them all because they don't release like 120 every year, then it'll be awesome, just right now that there are less than 10 so it's kind of annoying :(

As for WiR being Pixar, I can see it. I mean, besides it being something Pixar would do, Pixar movies know how to get you right in the feels

especially towards the end like nearly all Pixar movies do, so I can see how people would mistake it.

I hope you're right; I really want more pins of him to be made... we only have four... at least I think there's only four still, right? lol

Mystery, PTD, Surprise, Penny...yup, that's 4 haha I have a feeling we might be at 6 by year's end if we're lucky

Okay, so I still have all the King Candy pins that have been made so far... hmmm. Two more by the year's end would be amazing! lol! Maybe with him... IN A DIFFERENT POSE!?

Or him...IN A DIFFERENT OUT...OR A DIFFERENT FORM! Or him with another character would be nice too. As much as I want a Turbo/Boss Mode pin right now, I'd really like to see a pin with him + somebody else, his interactions with the characters was the best part of the movie for me :) well...one of the best parts.

Pixar used to be a completely separate company. It started as a sub-division of Lucasfilm, and was eventually sold to Steve Jobs. They had a production and distribution deal with Disney to produce the earlier Pixar movies like Toy Story, A Bug's Life, etc. Those are the Pixar films, but still have the Disney logo because Disney was a co-producer and distributer. But if you look at the old marketing its "Disney presents a Pixar film." In 2006, Disney purchased Pixar, but the company has been allowed to remain mostly independent. Their films are handled separately from the "Walt Disney Feature Animation" aka WDFA (which started with Snow White, Pinocchio, etc), but since then the movies are now Disney-Pixar to distinguish those films from WDFA, and because continued use of the Pixar name can make it more marketable in some areas.

:D Yes, we need... a Boss Form pin, racing gear pin (possibly in his car?), with another character pin, SOUR BILL PIN... and of course... A PIN OF.... TURBO! I would like a 8-bit form and a regular pin of him as Turbo. :)

All Disney anamition houses are under one man now, John Lasseter, aka Mr. Pixar. So going forward I think we will see his flavor in all Disney animation efforts be it Disney, Pixar, or LucasFilm Animation (if it exists anymore.)

Im really freaking out with joy this week, Hades is popping up every where! now all we need is a doll and I will die of happyness.

When it rains, it pours... but let it RAiN!!! I love me some villains but I cannot lie... I hope to god they don't release anymore villains until 2014. My bank account can't take it anymore!!

Well, this was a HUGH surprise today. I am looking forward to collecting these pins and adding them to the Connections Puzzle Pin that came out the first of the year.

Thanks Ozzie, for sharing this news with us.

LE750. and the chasers are le500.

listed at $12.95 each. 1 mystery pin per box. They were limiting it to 2 boxes per person today. And only 1 store was selling them that i noticed... I bet they were supposed to be on the shelves tomorrow(friday) for the villain stuff they are doing at DLR in the evening.
