So it seems as tho most of you still have them, some not knowing what they are, lol! For those of you doing this for years, is it nice reminiscing? :)

To Rik1138:
That is SUCH a great story!!! I love it and am so happy for you, what a extraordinary find!!! :D Tho I am a bit jealous! Ha ha! I am so glad you shared that with us!

To PrinceEric:

I would definitely strike up a conversation with a guy wearing some Disney pins...tho I might miss the chance due to shock since that is very unlikely here in CO, ha ha!

You would think I would have went for a prince theme, but the my prince will have to be in the flesh because Jessica will always be the animated love of my life, since 1987!

Thank you all for sharing! :D

:) I sure do! The first thing I bought to get me into pin trading was Pin 38188: DLRP - Pin Trading Starter Kit (Roger & Jessica Rabbit) Lanyard & 4 Pins . I only have one each left of each pin design, and the lanyard. :p I'll always keep the lanyard, but the pins are on my Trades list. Now that I think about it though, I'm wondering if I should keep them, with them being my first pins.

I do have mine! It is Pluto wearing a mardi gras mask and it says Arrivederci at the bottom. I love Italy (and am hopefully going to return for vacation next year) so this pin is going no where!!

I sure do! It was me, my husband, and my two childrens' (who are not children anymore) first trip to Disney World. I started with this lanyard and trading set:

pin19384

I then added a pin from each park and then we learned about the cast lanyards and came home with many of those as well:) Yes, it is nice reminiscing.

I am rather envious of this! ;) I have only been able to get my hands on one of the pins, and no lanyard! LOL!

I remember my first pins. it was bought back in 2002.
I went to Disney with my my uncle and his girlfriend and they bought me my first pins. :wiggle:

Pin 12553: Lilo & Stitch (Stitch)

I have mine, it's ooooold. My grandpa use to wear pins in his hat, one year he bought a set that contained mickeys from different eras and split them between my brother, me, and my cousins. I still have it, it's from the 80's, probably not worth much but it's worth a lot to me!

I still have the first pin I remember getting. I found an old picture of me with an Ariel pin but I don't have that pin. I still have the rainbow mickey pin my mom got me though. I got it the year I came out. It's not gonig anywhere.

That is SO awesome Lisa!!! I want a rainbow pin too!!! Think it is awesome Disney supports diversity in that way! :)

We havent been collecting far too long, but our first pins were the cute pirates set of, I believe 7 or 8 pins. We still have it in our collection.

The very first pins I bought were for my daughter in 1999. I bought her a pin from each park, one at Fort Wilderness where we stayed, and one with her name on it. She still has them.

I still have my very first pin trade in August 2012. I traded with a cast member. Unfortunately it is a scrapper. I just got the real one along with its mate at the ROE earlier this month.

Pin 23731: WDW Cast Lanyard Series 2 - 100 Acre Wood Baseball ( Pooh Pitching), Pin 23732: WDW Cast Lanyard Series 2 - (100 Acre Wood Baseball/Tigger) ,Pin 25467: WDW - Cast Lanyard Series 2 (100 Acre Baseball/Piglet) these were some of our first. We collected lanyard pin in this series and still have them. My daughter was three that year and if you open that book the memories come flooding back.

I still have my first pin. Its the Walk in Walts Footsteps pin from 2007. I got one, my BF at the time (now my husband) and my lil sister. I traded theirs away, but kept mine.

I bought several pins that day, for my birthday in April 2000. So, 10 were my first pins...lol I still have them all, but my favorite that day was Pin 1579: WDW - Artist Choice 2000 #4 (Mr. Toad & Cyril Proudbottom). It had a horse on it!! lol Plus, it was a big beautiful pin.

Technically, my first pin(s) were from the Countdown to the Millennium set, which was released while I worked at TDS. (And I still have flashbacks to how chaotic that was!!!) Sadly, I did not fully respect/appreciate pin collecting/trading, so I don't think I have any of them anymore. That's right--not even Alice! :-O If you start from the point when I became an actual Pin Collector, which is last October, then yeah, I've still got my first one (which I think was the DSF Mad Ice Cream Party Alice, although I just dove in and picked up a bunch of pins in rapid succession). =)

I have my first pin I got (a preview pin to CA adventure), my first purchased pin (a tigger pin) and my first pin I ever traded (a pooh pin.)

This was my first pin.
pin1188
They gave them out for free when you entered the park. I believe it was 1985 or 1986. I collected pins back then, but not like now. I really started collecting Disney pins with the Countdown to the Millennium set in 1999.

My first pin was a Dumbo rack pin. My daughter bought it for me during one of her many trips to DL. Dumbo is special to me because it was the first movie I ever saw in a theater. I was with my older sister and I got us kicked out of the movie because I was so mad they wouldn't let Dumbo be with his mother that I was yelling about the "mean men". I was five. My sister loves to tell that story at family parties. I could part with any of my pins but that one. :-)
